I have even tried with concernate and indirect in A3 but no difference there...

I want A3 to return =B1 but it only returns it in text but i want it in form of a formula. Is there a formula that returns text directly into a formula or an easy way to do this?

I'm trying to simplify a section of my code by naming a long string that is repeated. I tried by simply place the Name before equal sign (=) and also putting Set before the name. Both failed though I've seen both methods used successfully in other code. Am I having a syntax issue of some sort?

If I fill in the cell green, either manually or with conditional formatting, and then copy and paste the cell into A2, A2 is now green with the number 8 inside.

However, if in A2 I type "=A1", A2 still has the 8 but is no longer green.

Is there a way to copy the formatting of a cell by setting it equal to the original?

If square A1 says deposit account and c1 has a figure in it, i want g1 to repeat the figure,but if a2,a3 etc says something other than deposit account i want g2,g3 to remain blank.What is the formula for square g1etc?

In A1 I have the time (military h:mm) 8:00 In B1 I have the 30 min braek we take at work 0.30 in C1 the end of shift time (16:00) In D1 total hours (formula : = sum(C1-A1)-B1

and it is OK EXCEPT if the employee has the day off. In that case A1 and C1 are empty but because of B1 I get in D1 the terrible ####

How can I remedy this ... this sheet cannot be edited in anyway. ( I cannot delete or edit anything)

Thought of an IF but the #### are not a value so I cannot do much in the way of conditional fprmats ... how not to show these #### when the sheet is printed.

The Complete Name is currently blank. The others just list the users Surname and First name. In the Complete name I need it to have Surname,Firstname - for example

I am trying to write some VBA to join the values in 2 cells into another cell for a list, however my knowledge at this level is a little lacking. For each row in a list I would like to join the value of the cell of Column A and the value in the cell of Column B and write the output to Column C for that row, as shown in the attached example. Column C in the example shows the expected output.

what I would like to do is how can I combine 29-Mar-09 and 4-Apr-09 into one cell...I would like the output to be placed in cell A8 appear as "29-Mar-09 to 4-Apr-09".

The invoice itself simply equals cells from a drop down in the columns to the right hand side. I have a variable that is define as Double called STD. When i try to insert that variable in a formula the decimal sign (for me a comma "," because I'm Portuguese) gets converted to ";" (which is for me the separation sign for the expressions in excel formulas. ex: AND(A1>0;B1>0)=TRUE). In a formula, what effect does putting a plus sign after an equals sign? e.g. =+((1+B8)^12)-1. I orginally assumed that it made sure that result the would always be positive but I was wrong.

I need to insert the formula in column C (Findings tab) which counts the rows in Column M (tab named "Data") that equal A17 (Column A in "Findings" tab) and which are less or equal zero. In addition if I drag the formula down I want to only the values be entered in highlighted in blue cells in column C (SKUs With Zero Sales in "Findings" tab) and empty cells in not highlighted cells. The problem is that city is recognized as "Prague", and the zipcode as 45667 (without the "")

I have a column that tells whether an adjacent cell is positive or negative. I'm trying to come up with a macro/formula that will tell me how long (# of rows going down) a negative or positive sign repeats before changing.

So it would go down the column and count the rows where the same sign repeats. Once the SIGN switches from + to - or - to + the number goes back to 0. Essentially counting the cells that move in one direction (+ or -).

For example. if A1 = +, A2 = +, A3 = +, A4 = +, A5 = -, A6 = + then it would count A1:A4 and output 4 in B4, meaning that the numbers have stayed negative for 4 rows. For A4:A5 nothing should appear as this sign change we don't want to record. Same for A5:A6. I don't know how to make a formula/macro to identify a repeating SIGN, and then dynamically count all those rows until the sign changes. Does this make sense? I've been beating my head against the desk trying to figure it out with no luck.

i've put this previously on here with no results. There is a formula already in there though does not work because what I want to achieve is to have Column A & Column C to Match Column E & Column F, to Return the Value YES or NO. I’ve Highlighted in ROW 947 one that should Say NO yet Says YES.

I have a column with numbers in each cell. I need to add the same three letters before each of the numbers. Example:

number in cell: 25067 I need it: ABC25067

I did a macro for it but had to do each one individually. I imagine there is a simple formula to do this automatically but I don't know enough to figure it out (despite reading up on it for the last hour!)
