SUM Macro


I'm trying to create a SUM Macro that will sum the total in a number of columns.

The number of rows and columns are not fixed and change from week to week.

Range("J65536:AE65536").End(xlUp).Offset(2, 0).FormulaR1C1 = "=SUM(R5C:R[-2]C)"
This brings back the total for the first column (j) but does not return any results for anything else.

I entered the AE65536 to see if I made the column an absolute, whether results would be returned but no luck.

Macro Sum Everything Between These Two Ranges
I have two reference points "start_calc and end_calc" and I'm trying to figure out what the coding is in the a macro to sum everything between these two ranges.

In case that's not clear, say reference point #1 is A1 and reference point #2 is A26. in A27 I want to the Sum of A1 to A26. But the next time the macro runs the data points migh be A1 to A27 and so on.

This is why I'm usind start_calc and end_calc references rather than specific cells.

Sum Macro Between Sheets
In the above example, in the blank spaces directly below each change in company, I'd like to summ actual and budget expenses. Macro: Insert Sum
I'm working on this sheet where I need to first, sort the invoices by the due date. separate due and not due. for example, due date is 05/05/09 (pls see sheet 2). a blank row is then inserted (above the undue invoices) with "total due to pay" then the sum for due invoices.

for the invoices not due, i need to sum those also and finally, the total of the two figures at the very bottom. I need a macro code to run when the list contains hundreds of invoices.

Advanced Sum Macro
hello honorable excel profesionals.
here is what i want the macro to do:

must start from the top of the colum and count cells with specific data in them:

if ''X'' or ''Xa'' or ''Xb'' -> start counting how many cells in a row have the value specified.
from here two things can happen:

if a cel with a value ''Y'' is met -> stop
if a cell with value '''Ya'' or '''Yb'' is met -> countinue counting untill Y is met

when I say stop I mean that the macro should imput, ona separete table:
1.total number of how many counts where made.
2.how many counts there where with a lenght of 1, how many with the lenght of 2 and so on

here is an example of data line and a table I want to have after macro is done.

Hope that this isn,t a problem to write otherwise il have to do this manualy - about 5000 rows of data...

Consolidate And Sum Macro
I have a Spreadsheet that has about 150 rows filled with information. Column A (Part Description) Column B (quantity). Certain parts are repeated multiple times. I am trying to come up with a Macro to assign to a button that will do the following.

1.Grab every part on the sheet that has a Quantity in Column B and insert it in Sheet 4 starting in row 15.

2. Instead of having duplicate parts i want it to sum the quantities of all the matching parts.

Right now i am just using a "Hide 0 Quantity" Macro but it is still a pain.

this formula is to find the sum of all numbers from DJ9 to ER9 and then multiply and divide by integers...
how do i put this formula in a loop so that it finds the sum of all numbers tilll row number 50?

Macro - Sum Up, Compare, Display
I have a spreadsheet with three sheets („Data”, „20” and „30”). On the Data sheet I have only two rows, and I do not work on this sheet. I work with the sheets 20 and 30. On the sheet 20 I need to sum up the amount of column H. But my problem is that the count of this column (the rows or cells) allways change. Sometimes there are 554 the next day 663 and so on. So I need the macro to sum up the amount of column H two cells under the last cell. I need exactly the same in the sheet 30, but the only difference is that in the sheet 30 the amounts are in the G column (not in H). Finally I need to compare the two summed up amounts (sheet 20 and 30) and they must be equal. So what I would need as macro is that when I run it, it sums up the amounts in both sheets and then in the Data sheet (in the 5th row, cell A) displays the summed up amount and (in cell B) displays OK if the two summed up amounts are equal, or just dislpays ERROR if the summed up amounts are not equal.

Macro That Will Sum The Values In Column P From P8
I need a macro that will sum the values in column P from P8:?

The trick is that my # of rows will vary. I have the macro ending in the right spot.

So, if I have 90 rows of data my macro ends in P91. Now I need to be able to have it sum P8:P90. Like wise if I have 300 rows of data my active cell will be P301. I need P8:P300 summed.

Macro To Multiple Two Columns Then Sum?
I have a work book with 97 sheets, all of the sheets are identical in format but contain different data. I need to multiple column F (which is a price) by column G (which is a quantity). I then need to sum the results and spit this number out on a new sheet. So in then end I would have 97 entries on the new sheet with this new sum which would give me are total stock value on hand.

Macro - Filter & Sum
I need is to run a macro which does the following:

Autofilter is on, so on column AR filter to results that show '1', then on column H for all results there are 6 max but some dont show when '1' is selected as data may not be present.

So once I have filtered down AR and then filtered down H, I need a sum on AN, and AO for JUST those results!

Now I can do all this manually and have a quick mock code but this needs to be done sooner rather than later so im going to cont doing it manually if anyone can help with the code it will speed things up for me tho, thanks!

Passing 3D SUM Formula In Macro
I'm trying to set up a journal-type workbook. I have two sheets named Start and End-the first sheet has a cell that contains a formula, =SUM(Start:End!B4) B4 is where you put the number of hours worked in a day. I then run a macro that copies the sheet called Start for each day of the year. What I was expecting was that the cell with the formula would provide a running total of the hours worked through the year on each sheet, but when the sheets are copied the formula changes to =SUM(#REF!B4). My macro to create a copy sheet for the whole year is as follows:

Formula In A Macro To Sum Same Range All Ws
I have a workbook that will have a different number of sheets every time. All of the sheets have the same format. I have a summary sheet in which I would like to sum the total of Sheet1 thru the Last sheet in every cell from B12 to B24, then I am going to move on to other columns.

I am getting the same error everytime "Object doesn't support this property or method" and the error is #438.

I have tried different formulas, but none of them are working. Here is my code......

I am writing some code to help speed up data input into Excel. I take the info from the user through a form. Before pasting the data into a spreadsheet, I need to check that there is no data there already.

How can I check that the sum of range of cells in excel, as specified by the user in the form, is Zero?

Sum 2 Ranges By Condition Macro
how to properly use the OR operator.

Currently, I have the following code in my program:

Cobbs = WorksheetFunction. SumIf(Sheet5. Range("H9:H500"), "C/F", Sheet5.Range("I9:I500")) _
+ WorksheetFunction.SumIf(Sheet5.Range("H9:H500"), "4/F", Sheet5.Range("I9:I500"))

But it seems to me that the program should work just fine if I use something like this shorter line of

Cobbs = WorksheetFunction.SumIf(Sheet5.Range("H9:H500"), "4/F" Or "C/F", Sheet5.Range("I9:I500"))

But it just ain't working for me. Can the OR operator not work in this situation? If so, what is the proper syntax?

Relative Vs. Exact And Sum Macro?
I can record a macro that will sum a column of data at the end of data in that column - simple; my problem is getting it to work on other workbooks that have a different amount of rows in it. I tried recording the macro using the relative button as well as without using it, but either way I do it, I can never get it to work on a different workbook. For example, I record the macro, then remove a couple rows after to simulate running on another workbook, and then when I run it, the sum gets put in the cell that used to be the end of the column instead of the real end of the column…Same is true if I add some rows. I don't know if I am using the right terminology below (OK, I know I'm not) but it gets the message across best when I say I think I need something that will do the following (substitute "code" for "make believe code"):

1. Go To cell F1
2. Go To last entry In this column
3. Move down one cell
4. Sum F2:Fx (where x = one cell above current selection - the last populated cell In the column With data In it before the sum)

Macro To Sum Values From Various Workbooks If They Exist
Im trying to come up with a Macro that will perform a =SUM() function across multiple workbooks. Some of these workbooks may exist, some may not.

For example, Summary.xls has a =sum() formula that picks up data from wbk1.xls
wbk2.xls
wbk3.xls
etc, all the way to 100

Today i only have wbk 1, 2 and 3 but i know everyday more wbk's are added so i want to create a sum type function to accomodate the sbk's that may be created at a future time.

Right now when i try it, I not only get REF/# but on opening Summary.xls I get a popup that asks me to define the missing wbk's

Macro - Sum From Last Cell In Column Of Data
I want to got to the last cell with data in column H and turn this into a Sum formula. I want to sum up to H7. Then, I want to copy this sum formula for all columns through to column AH.

VBA Macro To Sum By Number For Corresponding Week
I am interested in modifying the below code so that instead of a text output of "Assignment A (20), Assignment B (5)" it would output only the sum of the numbers "25" for the corresponding week. Sum/Total Values In Array Macro Code
I have created an array in Excel VBA 2003 and successfully loaded it with values. The array variable is called "Week". I am currently getting the sum of the numbers in the array by creating a dim variable that adds them statically one at a time:

finalvalue = week(1) + week(2) + week(3)

That works, except as time goes on there are more weeks and I need to dynamically add all the values together in one fell swoop.

Countif Function In A Macro: SUM And COUNTA Works
I'm using the SUM, COUNTA and COUNTIF functions in a macro. The SUM and COUNTA works but the COUNTIF function does not return results.

I have tried countless ways to rewrite the COUNTIF line with no results or compiler errors returned. Originally had problems with the SUM and COUNTIF function and found that column formating was the problem. After clearing all column formats, the SUM function promptly began working but the COUNTIF keeps eluding all my efforts. The column which the COUNTIF is pointed to contains values of 0 to 500. Only values greater than 0 are to be counted.

Macro To Insert Auto Sum Function In Various Rows With A Column
I have to create a spreasheet monthly that has perhaps 60 transactions. The data is in columns A - G, with columns E and F having the costs figures. I need to sum the value in column E and also in Column F every few rows. The problem is that sometimes there are two rows per transaction and other times it could be 30 rows per transaction. Where I will be lucky is that there are two rows between transactions, and the sum goes in the first empty row.

Basically what I would need it to do, from a macro point of view is to go down column E, and every time it finds the first empty row, insert an auto sum. It would then need to ignore the next row, because it too, is empty.

Just Column E - I need an autosum in the "empty row 1's)

Macro/Code Required For Calculations Base On Pivot Tables Sum
What I required is either a Macro or Code for formulas in column 'F' in the attached spreadsheet that correspond to the SUM of each description and divided by 37.5 e.g. in F10 the formula should be =D10/37.5 the formula should be F12 D10/37.5 and so on all the way down the Pivot table

My problem is as the amount data increases on the Data Tab the formulas in column 'F' will become out of line with the corresponding Sum of each description so I guess I need some code or formula that check every time the Pivot table is refreshed.

Macro To Convert Numbers To Alphabet Letters & Sum Range
First my goal is to sum a row and column. For example i want the sum of row 1 a to row 1 g. However, I'm using a loop for an automated macro. So i want to be able to say something like cells(1, count), so during the loop count goes from 1 to 7 representing the letters in the alphabet. But I'm not sure how to do so.


Secound, in my vba script to pull information from specific pages i say "sheet1.activate" how can i had the sheet switching during the process to speed up the calculation? and last but not least,

If Cells(1, locd) = "2008" Then

When i run my script, i get a runtime error 1004 application-defined or object defined error. The weird thing is, i can move what line it is on and then the macro will run ONCE and then it breaks again with the same error for that specific piece of code.

Macro Code To Add Sum Formula/Function, With Variable Rows, To Cell
I am having to copy and paste rows of data into a new worksheet where the rows sizes change and I am wanting to add a new row at the end of the pasted rows but with the sumation formula to add the relevant column

e.g copy range B14:AA17 with in this case columns E to AA holding the numerical values. Therefore I wish in cell E18 to sum the value of E14:E17 and so on ending with cell AA18 holding the sum of AA14:AA17

As these vary I have all relevant variables, Range to add sumation values to eg E18:AA18
Start Cell E14 and so on.

I tried adding "=SUM(x:d)" where x and d are vars relating the the column cell required eg x = E14 and d = E17

SUM Or Lookup (extract The Sum Of Each Of The Sum Value For Each )
I am building a template which needs to pull values from an excel sheet that
will be copied and pasted into one of the worksheets in the template. These
values are always in the same columns but not always in the same row as the
length of the file varies. One of the main problems I am having is that there
these values are sums (located at the bottom of the table) but they do not
have any indicator in the first column (it is blank so I cannot use vlookup).
Also there may be multiple tables (each under the privious one) and in this
case I need to be able to extract the sum of each of the sum value for each
table.

Also, I was thinking of taking another route. Instead of looking up the
already calculated sum values I was thinking there might be a possibility to
sum the values my self and pull that value for the columns needed into my
template. The first lign of each table begins with "Asgn" and ends with "End"
and I was wondering if there is a way to sum the values between (and
including) these two markers for the columns needed.

Macro: Check CheckBox Is True, Current Date For Day/Month, Then Sum TextBox & Cell
I am trying to allow the Command Button when clicked to go through multiple conditions before making a decision. So, when someone clicks on Command Button 3 the code should look to see if CheckBox1 is true, then it should check today's date, and if it is between a range of days, or even months, then it would add the number in TextBox1 with the amount already in cell H18. This event will happen every time someone clicks on the Command Button.

The end result is to have several sheets (4 total) for each quarter in the fiscal year, and if the dates are within those parameters, the clicking of the command button will update the correct sheet.

Conditional Formula: If Text, Repeat As Number To Sum, Else Sum Numbers.
I can get only so far, then stumped:3 columns (Hours, Rate, Amount). "Hours" is a 'List' with data from from another sheet. Data is named 'Worked'. 'Worked' is all 2 decimal numeric (represents total time worked), except first item called "Live In"
IF 'Hours' is "Live In", I can use: =IF(A1="Live In", SUM(B1*1))

How can I make it conditional so that if it's not "Live In", then it will SUM(A1*B1)?. SideNote: 'Worked' LIST has total time with minutes expressed as 1/4 of hour (i.e., 1.25 = 1 hour, 15 minutes).

Sum Do Not Include Rows Added After The Predefined Sum Range
I'm looking for: a cell (in column C) that sums Column C from C6 to the row above said cell. (A Total) So if new rows were added, these values would be included in the sum.

Column SUM Produces #N/A (Vlookup To Find Values That I Want To SUM)

Some of the look up values produce a #N/A and result in a total sum of #N/A.

Autofind & Sum (select The Respective Cells And SUM)
To fill in the ??? in attached file, I select the respective cells and SUM. Would there be a way to automate as:

For each entry in column D, Excel picks out itself the names in column-A where-ever they come, picks the corresponding values from column-B, sums them and reproduces the summation in column E.

How do you write an excel macro that looks at the number in the first column (day #) and finds all the duplicate id#s in the second column that are in day 1and adds the amounts together in the 3rd column then writes the first column number (day#), second column number(id#) and the third column (sum of the amounts of duplicate Id#) to an new worksheet. Then the macro would loop through day #2 and do the same thing. Notice that the values in the id column are unique in this data set below this is how I would like the data to look. I have accomplished this in a pivot table but my problem is I need a cvs file to export the final data into an external database which is why I need a macro.....

I want a code to Hide the row if "sum of numbers in columns three thru last column" = 0. Means, if the sum of all the cell (except first and second cells in that row) in a row is zero, then that row should be hidden.

Macro To Format The Auto-Sum Row Without Knowing What Row# It Will Be
I currently have a macro setup that puts Auto-Sum data in the row below the bottom-most row of data. What code would I need to format this Auto-Sum row with the following parameters automatically...

1. Merge & center F & G in the Auto-Sum row with the text "Totals".
2. Change the row height of the Auto-Sum row to 44 pixels.
3. Center the vertical alignment of the Auto-Sum row.
4. Put the thickest border around the Auto-Sum row in cells A-K.
