I need a macro that will change the background colour of a cell depending on whether it equals a certain variant. Let me explain.
Cells D8 to N8 will either equal 1, 2, 3 or 4. Depending on the value of the cells on row 8 (D8:N8) I need the above cells on row 4 (D4:N4) to have a different background colour.
If the cell on row 8 is 1, the cell on row 4 must have a green background. If the cell on row 8 is 2, the cell on row 4 must have a yellow background. If the cell on row 8 is 3, the cell on row 4 must have a red background. If the cell on row 8 is 4, the cell on row 4 must have a blue background.
Therefore, if D8 = 3, D4 will have a red background. If F8 = 2, F4 will have a yellow background. And so on.
I need a macro that when ran changes the background colour of the cell range D4:N4 depeding on the value of the cell 4 rows beneath (D8:N8).
How to a change a cell colour to say red in B6 if cell b12 = 1 and if e6 = 1 to change to green. I thought I might be able to use conditional formatiing but no. I had set the spread sheet to do a cell just for a condition representing a sum from another worksheet and it was working fine but i have to incorporate the two together and am stock.
I want to change the back ground colour of each row until G column when there is a text in the first cell. I have attached the excel that I want the background colour to be. Like suppose, F1 is the details of family 1, F2 is for family 2. I want each family to be coloured. The rows are not fixed for each family. If F1 details are coloured green, Fr is orange, F3 is green and F4 is orange again. And the number F1, F2, F3, F4 and so on are not ordered in ascending. They can be random. But I want the colour coding to be the same as what I have shown in the excel. I have so many rows like that. How do I do that using excel. I have tried conditional formatting. But it doesn't work.
How I can change the background colour of cell C:2 depending on what other cell i click? Below a sample of the code im using Basically when i click B:2 i want C:2 to turn grey with the text on top.... Then when i click B:4 i want C:2 to turn Red.....
Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Select Case Target.Address Case Is = "$B$2" Range("D2").Value = "No action needed connector is down" 'change this to suit Case Is = "$B$3"
I'm trying to set a conditional formatting to do the following:
If A1 is greater than 1, A2 will change its background colour to green. So the format needs to be in A2.
Basically in A1 is a page number that we have reconciled our bank statement to (labelled as "64" or "65" and so on), A2 has the end of statement amount.
Every month end we do a bank rec, the green cell is a marker to show what point we reconciled up to previous month.
I have a large list of students (Col a,b) who do several sports (up to 10) each, which are arranged as sport name (Col c) followed by score (col d), repeated on pairs of columns for the other 9 sports.
I need a macro to find the 4 highest scoring sports for each student in turn and to highlight the score and sport cells. I have tried to find permutations using the LARGE function but I cannot see how I can do this.
creating a macro. I would like the background color of certain cells under column A (cells 12:25, 27:32, 34:38, 40:45, 47:51, 53:61, 63:70, 72:79, 81:88, 90:92) to change to the color green and display the text "Complete" on mouseclick.
Before the cell is clicked, it would be the color red, with no text. (I'm not sure if you need to know that).
Next, I would need a macro that resets everything back to red. I hope this macro could be assigned to a form button.
Is there any way to have a cell change its colour depending on whether a condition is met. E.G., can i have it as green if the result is a plus number and red if its a negative?
I have a spreadsheet where I can change the colour of a cell by clicking the mouse, I also have text in many of the cells.
What I need to do is protect (lock) the text so that no one can change the text in any of the cells, but I still want to be able to change the colour of the cells by clicking the mouse in that cell.
I would like to conditional format an Object depending on the variance between 2 weeks.
If the value is > than 0% the arrow is Green and points upwards. If the value is = to 0% the arrow is Yellow and points at at 90 degree to the left. If the value is < than 0% the arrow is Red and points downwards.
Attached is a sample : rrow Conditional Format.xlsm‎
I have five possible reps names in column A, when i type in "peter" i want that row up to column I to have a background colour of yellow, each rep must have his own colour. when i clear the name from column A the row should clear the colour. using conditional formating i can only get the first cell to get a background colour.
How to colour cells depending on text in other cells, for example,
I would like cells D26:AA26 to turn light red if the letters 'FSM' are in cell 'E26' even if other text appears in it, eg 'SA+/FSM' I have been playing about with conditional formatting but can seem to solve the mixed text issue?
I have an Excel 2010 workbook with many worksheets using hundreds of Form Control (not ActiveX) checkboxes. I need a bit of VBA to change Checkbox background color of each checkbox whenever the user checks the box. I assume this needs to be a click event? I don't even know the Checkbox property name I need to change I'm learning VBA as quick as I can
I have been working on a spreadsheet but I use autoformat for.
For example if the date in the cell matches today's date then it turns the text read and makes it bold.
I was wondering if there was a way to format several cells in a row if a certain criteria was met.
for example
A B C 1 Item Cost Quantity 2 Car £11,520 2 3 Bike £7,500 1 4 Tyres £50 4
Now for example if I set a condition whereas the quatity is greater than 3 then it would highlight the whole row.
So in the example above I would like to to highlight row 4 and Fill colour cells A4,B4 & C4 with a yellow background and Red Text and make the texted bold.
How can I allow users to either select the SKU from the dropdown menu, or to type in the SKU # in the dropdown menu (C5 through F5) and have it populate the data fields for that SKU when they press the 'Enter' key?
Currently using Data Validation ='KVM Comparison Data'!$B$4:$OP$4 and cell logic to allow the information to be pulled from a hidden tab =INDEX('KVM Comparison Data'!$D$2:$OP$65,MATCH('KVM Product Comparison'!$B6,'KVM Comparison Data'!$A$2:$A$65,0),MATCH('KVM Product Comparison'!C$5,'KVM Comparison Data'!$D$4:$OP$4,0))
In short, I want to keep it the way I have it, but allow users to also have the option of typing in a SKU and pull the data up that way. I know this is possible, I just can't figure out how to do it, while keeping my current solution in place as well.
In Column A each cell will contain a date (differnet from other cells in that column) when inspection was last done.
Column B is when the weekly inspection is due.
Column C is when bi-weekly inspection is due.
Column D is when monthly inspection is due.
Column E is when 6 monthly inspection is due.
I need a formula to change the colour of cells B, C, D & E when each inspection is due depending on the date entered in A
I am hoping its possible that the cell colour can stay for 2 days after the due date and then return back to blank after the second day.
For example if cell A1 has a date of January 1 2013 then on January 8 2013 cell B1 turns red then on January 10 2013 the cell returns back to normal.
A1 B1 C1 D1 E1
Inspection Date Weeekly Due Bi-WeeklyDue Monthly Due 6 Monthly Due
January 1 2013 Change red Jan 8 & return blank Jan 10 Change red Jan 15 & return blank Jan 17 Change red Feb 1 & return blank Feb 3 Change red June 1 & return blank June 3
Is it possible to use a formula to shade a cell dependent on a condition? I have tried an if formula (see below) but it is incorrect. =if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6>'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [red],if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6<'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [blue],))
If B1 is “hello” I want B1:B6 background to change to green, and text to stay black But if B3 is “goodbye” I want this to override the above and make B1:B6 background white and text colour of B1:B2 and B4:B6 white (so the text in these cells seems to disappear).
So I have been playing around with the tab colors on my workbook and am trying to figure out the correlation between color brightness and the auto change from black text to white text. I've noticed that if the Green color value is higher, excel is more likely to use the black text. If Blue is high, white. Green takes precedence over Blue and Red is just kind of in its own world.how excel calculates this?
Macro is not working .So the macro I am using is supposed to look back at all the months tab, match the Name from previous tabs and if they match change background color of the active sheet's cell to red.
Right now the macro is only able to lookup the name in the previous tab (i.e. For December it will only lookup November tab and not October-January).
e.g. (Candidate name is Jack King and he is in (october's tab, Column A Cell 2 )
I want this candidate name to turn red once I type his name in November/December tab.
I got an excel sheet were in column A i have listed a few names and in column B I got their respective results (numbers) with a background color.
I want to insert a function in such a way that when their numbers exceed a certain number the background color changes from for example blue to green. so >1200 = blue background color 1200-1350 = red < 1350 = green
I need to see easily if my cell is giving a value by using a SUM. This is so I can see if the SUM has been taken off or overridden by typing in a number.
