Conditionally Copy Data: Master Worksheet To Multiple Worksheets
Sep 11, 2006
I am searching for a formula or simple macro to select text data from column named "SM NAME" to corresponding worksheet. I need this to populate as many worksheets as there are SM Names. ( there are usually 10 SMs)
For Example in the Master Data there are Several SM names listed. I need to extract the "ID" and "Agent" columns in the Master and populate into the workshhet with the Approriate name tab. The Master list changes regularly.
I have a workbook with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet is a set o data from a certain year. I want to create a macro that automatically copies the data from these worksheets into a master worksheet that can easily be used to make a pivot table.
I have workbook that expands or shrinks in number of worksheets each time and I need to gather information from each worksheet to compile a "total" spreadsheet. The location of the cells to be copied in each worksheet vary however it is always in the same column. Managed to find a macro that will collect the information if it is located in the same cell, across all worksheets but did not manage to find something that will conditionaly copy.
Need code, that will search based on text that will be found in the worksheets and then copy the values from the column next to it (same row) to the "total" worksheet. If any of the text that is to be searched in the worksheet does not exist, then it should leave the cell "blank" in the "total". I have attached a workbook of with the example of the worksheets that I have and the result that I want to have at the end, in the "total" worksheet.
I have been at this for days and i can't quite get it right. I have multiple worksheets of clients all formatted the same. I need a Macro/VBA that will take from Each sheet onto a master sheet the Name of the Client(Cell I1 from the sheet) Under the name I need the text Authorization #: then the data(C3) Under that I need the text Dates of Service Expiration: then the data (D5) Then the text 90801 Balance: then the data from (C30) Then the text 90806 Balance: then the data from (F30) Then the text 90847 Balance: then the data from (I30) Then the text 90853 Balance: then the data from (L30)
Then a couple Spaces then the same exact data from the next sheet...till all the work sheets are done.....is it possible?
Dave responded by suggesting the following:
Sub CopyFromAllSheetsButMaster() Dim wSheet As Worksheet Dim wsMaster As Worksheet
Set wsMaster = Worksheets("Master")
For Each wSheet In Worksheets If UCase(wSheet.Name) <> "MASTER" Then With wSheet .Range("I1").Copy _ Destination:=wsMaster.Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp)(2, 1) 'More Copy Method code here End With End If Next wSheet End Sub...
I have a work book with prob close to a thousand individual work sheets in it. I have a goup of cells that are the same in ever work sheet that I would like to pull and place into a master work sheet. I dont want to copy and paste each one, I'd be a hundred before I finished and I dont have that kind of time. Im thinking a macro might be what I need but Im not very good with useing them let alone making one to fit me needs.
i have a worksheet that has information filled in columns A-N and rows 3-7262 (not including title and labels)
i need a macros that will separate this data into multiple worksheets based on the word in Column A; these words could be HDA, CCR/NHT, GRU/ATU (essentially dividing this data up by area name, there will be 14 worksheets)
i would also like to be able to update this master worksheet and have it be reflected in the multiple worksheets that are divided by their areas.
i need a macro which copy and paste from multiple worksheets (except for 3 worksheets which is named after Jan, Feb and Mar) into one worksheets (named as OVERALL). The data to copy will cover from cell A1:D1 and below where there is data available.
I have several exel workbooks (.xls files) and each workbook contains multiple worksheets. The number of worksheets and their names are variable. Each worksheet is formated in the same way. Now I want to copy an specific cell range on each worksheet and copy it into a single worksheet.
For example let assume that we have a a workbook called temperature.xls. This file contains 4 worksheets named: 40-1, 40-3, 40-5#, and 40-22. I want to copy a specific cell range (F46:O47) from all the worksheets in the workbook temperature.xls and paste only the values on a summary worksheet. This summary worksheet can be in the same workbook or in different one. I just wanted to add that I want to repeat this process 15 more times to summarize all my data containing workbooks. On average each workbook contains 35 worksheets so it is a tedious manual process.
I have tweaked this code in order to accomplish my requirement. I have in all 35 worksheets in a workbook. Out of 35 sheets, 31 worksheets are infact the 31 days of the month starting from 1st July to 31st July. What I want to do is copy and append all the rows in column A (starting from row 2) of all these 31 worksheets into one master worksheet. Basically, appending the rows in col A from all the worksheets together in master worksheet.
Dim wAppend As Worksheet, wSheet As Worksheet Dim LastRow As Long
Set wAppend = Worksheets("Master")
For Each wSheet In Worksheets If wSheet.Name wAppend.Name Then
End Sub This code when run gives me a Debug error "Object variable or with block variable not set". I did a research for this error on Google and most of the answers are in reference to using ADO Recordsets. I am not even distinctly using a Recordset in this example.
I have 2 different worksheets having similar format (header rows/columns) but different data (values). I need to pull out these data based on their values, means if cell is blank leave that cell and move on, but if cell has some value then pull that value with its corresponding row & column headers to place into a simple table to further use it for PivotTable. The number of rows and columns are equal in both worksheets.
So basically, the proposed function will run a check on both worksheets within a specific range of cells for their values and if not blank, it will fetch that cell value along with its relevant row header and column header and place all these attributes into the destination worksheet.
Hope I am quite clear with my query. with the required function to ease my life?
I have to input information into a master worksheet which contains data (employee names, location, start date and client) that then needs to be repeated in several other sheets. I want to input the data into a master worksheet and then automatically populate the other sheets with the data. If the data could then be filterable on each sheet that would be good.
Basically, i have a common workbook template that is used by multiple users across the business to request a cost for numerous new products.
Within the template, there is a common section at the top, where specific project information is entered. There is also a table beneath where 1 or many products can be entered, with specific information relating to that product in the same row.
All the submitted requests are uploaded via an email attachment, to a particular sharepoint directory.
What i would like to do in the master workbook is the following:-
1. Open in turn every uploaded workbook within the sharepoint directory and copy the following cells into the master workbook, each in it's own row (or next available), with the data in adjacent cells.... 1st cell to enter data is $B6.
Cells to copy from each sheet:
Common info contained within cells: $DG$2,$N$11,$N$12,$N$19,$N$13,$AO$7,$AO$8,$AO$9,$AO$10,$AO$11,$AO$12,$AO$12,$AO$13,$AO$14,$BO$8,$BO$11,$BO$14
Product specific info: $U37, $AD37, $AH37, $DH37, $C37, $O37
Depending on the number of products requested, we need to repeat (loop?) until it finds the next blank row in the table. I have hidden a blank row in the table, so there will always be one!
All of the common information needs to be included for each product specific entry.
For each file, once the upload has been completed, i would like the file to be moved to another "archive" directory.
I have attached the template for information. The master workbook is still in development so can't share currently.
I have a report(Input report) with multiple sheets with different worksheet names.
Now I have to select 2nd worksheet of input report and copy a certain range values and paste in the other workbook(output) . From the same sheet 3 diffrent values I will copy and paste in other work book.
Now, I have to come back to the input report and go to next sheet and copy the same range data and append to the out put report below the first sheet.
This I need to do for all worksheets for the input report worksheets (there are more than 100 worksheets)
I have a workbook with many sheets of similar but not identical data. I need to extract columns from each sheet based on 5 header criteria and paste them to a single sheet. Each worksheet contains these 5 criteria.
I've been working with the VBA script I've pasted below. It's grabbing the 5 column criteria that I have in sheet 12, and comparing them to sheet 1 in the workbook, then copying them to sheet 12. This much is good, but I need the script to also return the data from the other worksheets as well. I've tried modifying the script based on other loop functions in other scripts I've found, but I'm not having any luck.
Objective: use VB to copy the first sheet (tab) from every Excel file in a specific folder to a new sheet/tab (for each) in a master spreadsheet. I will then aggregate this data into a summary table.
Following the advice of an old thread (Access: VBA combining multiple excel files to 1 new sheet), one time for each file in the folder. So with three excel files in the folder, I get 3 new tabs in my master spreadsheet but all are copies of the first tab in the master spreadsheet.
I'm wondering if maybe the code, which was in a post from 5 years ago, needs to be "modernized" for Excel 2007. Thanks for any help.
This is the code I'm using:
Fpath = "C: emp2" ' change to suit your directory Fname = Dir(FilePth & "*.xls")
Do While Fname <> "" Workbooks.Open Fpath & Fname Sheets(1).Copy After:=Workbooks("Master.xlsm").Sheets(Workbooks("Master.xlsm").Sheets.Count) Workbooks(Fname).Close SaveChanges:=False Fname = Dir Loop
I have a master workbook with 20 worksheets. 5 worksheets in the worksbook are distributed to field reps, but the remaining 15 worksheets are not. What is the best practice for receiving the 5-worksheet workbook from the field rep and importing the data into the 20-worksheet master workbook? If I merely use Copy Sheet I am able to copy the worksheets into the master workbook but then I have to remove the pathname references in each of the copied worksheets in order to map the data in the master workbook - which is quite cumbersome.
I have an identical worksheet for all the days of the month - i.e. the May workbook has 30 identical worksheets. I am wanting to pull only certain rows from each worksheet onto a master. Something like - copy row from all worksheets where that rows cell "D" has any value other than " ".
I have used the following macro to pull all the data from every sheet onto a master - but i don't want all the data - just the qualifying data.
Sub Combine() Dim J As Integer
On Error Resume Next Sheets(1).Select Worksheets.Add ' add a sheet in first place Sheets(1).Name = "ALL"
I am not sure what the range "A1" is - i am thinking i can modify it to only grab certain rows.
I have a large data ... my problem is that I want the data is segregated automatically without manual filtering. in my data there are approximately 1000 individual name data, i need information about one person automatically segregated in one worksheet
A B C D
for example; in the table we can see the red colour font in column D, that is the name person, what i want is data for one person automatically transfer to another sheet..example : Annamalai data to Sheet2, Koh Che Kuan to Sheet 3, Rashidah to Sheet 4..etc
Attached is a master metrics deck, where data needs to be refreshed every week, from two different workbooks.
The catch is, the two parent workbooks would be new versions every week (data would be same format, and style within), but file name would change each week, for eg: for 1st workbook, 'XXX_Weekly_Week24.xlsx' to 'XXX_Weekly_Week25.xlsx' and so on.
for 2nd workbook, 'YYY_Weekly_Week24.xlsx' to 'YYY_Weekly_Week25.xlsx' and so on.
In the master metrics deck, a consolidated vew of some of data from workbook 1 and workbook 2 is presented for each week.
This master file would remain same, and only be refreshed each week (preferably with a button on its sheet "REFRESH!!")
Next, need to manually change cells C2:G2 each week to reflect week titles correctly.
For e.g.: week6 would show week 1 through week 5, but during week7, it needs to show week 2 to week 6. Only last five weeks of data any given time.
The first datarows of each set are conditionally formatted (they are compared with other rows in the set and need to reflect danger values, good values etc) (I have done that already).
If col A is blank and col D or E is blank then I want the line deleted for lines 1no more than 100 The option of D or E has me stymied I end up with it not working right. This is what I had tried
Dim lastrow As Long, c As Long lastrow = Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row For c = 1 To lastrow If Range("a" & c).Value " " and Range("d" & c). Value " " or Range("e" & c)Then ActiveSheet.HPageBreaks.delete Next c
But doesn't work
I also need macro to run multiple worksheets which varies anywhere from 12 sheets to 50 sheets.
I have been trying to make a code that copies all the data in A2:K50 in all the sheets (about 32 of them right now) and paste that information in 1 sheet (Master List). The code does work but for some sheets it only copies the first 2 or 3 records. Also, this code puts the name of the sheet the data came from but for the first 2 records in puts in the Master List its pasting the wrong Sheet name.
Sub SummurizeSheets() Dim ws As Worksheet Dim lastRng As Range
I have 17 workbooks which contain similar data and formatting. The only variance is the number of rows of data in each. I want to write a macro in the Master worksheet that will accomplish the following
1. Create a worksheet name in the master workbook with the same name as the workbook that it's pulling data from. 2. Copy over the column headings from columns A:P to the newly created worksheet on the master workbook 3. Copy over all rows that contain the word "down" under column D titled Operational status
The naming convention for the master workbook will be titled "All Switches". The naming convention for the worksheets containing the data are titled Port_Map_on_tiegcsw01, Port_Map_on_tiegcsw02, Port_Map_on_nypgcsw01. There are other names , but I can reference the code an update accordingly.
I found some searches on the forum for creating a macro to copy data between workbooks, but not quite sure how to write the macro for the three functions.
I have tried to write the below VBA to copy a specific cell to a specific workbook. I have set the folder path in B1 and listed the file names in column E4 onwards. E1 being the number of files in column E. I get a run-time error 91 "Object variable or With block variable not set" on Current File = ActiveWorkbook.name.
Sub UpdateParameters() Dim CurrentFile As Workbook Dim wbOpen As Workbook
I have four worksheets and they are named: P (the master spreadsheet), and then A, G, and S (which, combined, should contain all the values on P). These spreadsheets are identically formatted. Column A in each spreadsheet has a Name, and column B has a quantity associated with that name. There are no column titles or headers.
Basically, I need to ensure A, G and S role up into P.
I'd like to create a macro that will identify instances where Column A (the Name) on the master spreadsheet has a match with Column A (the name) on any other spreadsheet. Then when there is a match, I want to reconcile Columns A (the names) and B (the quantities) on the master spreadsheet against its corresponding values on the other spreadsheets. In my ideal scenario, a new worksheet would be created showing:
Column A: Contains the values from Spreadsheet P, Column A
Column B: Contains the value from Spreadsheet P, Column B
Column C: Blank
Column D: Contains any matching value to Spreadsheet P, Column A, but otherwise states "No Match"
Column E: Lists the corresponding value to Column D, but otherwise states "No Match"
Column F: Equals Column B minus Column E, but otherwise states "No Match"
I've tried applying examples from other threads but they are so customized/specific to people's individual needs that I've been unable to make them work for my more simplistic example above.
I have Folder with almost 21 or 22 Excel files depending on the working days in a month,
All I am trying to do is to run a Macro so that Column C and D from Sheet Name "Resource Count" from all Workbooks of Different Names from all the files from that folder to be copied and pasted to a new Workbook one after the other in new workbook.
To clarify, Each workbook in that folder will have a sheet named "Resource Count" and I want to copy Column C and Column D from all the workbooks from the folder and paste one after other in a new work book.
I need a code that will copy any cells with data in range I3:I41 from sheet2 and paste it in sheet1 starting at cell B3. Then copy any cells with data in range I3:I41 from sheet3 and paste it in sheet1 starting at the next empty cell.
