May 14, 2014I have set up a rollover hyperlink so that when I hover over the cell it changes colour and creates a good effect. To do this I have another cell on the sheet that turns to 1 when the cell in question is hovered over.
I need a code so that when that cell displays the number 1. the object (which is rectangle 2) changes from white fill. to a picture I have saved on my desktop.
I cant quite figure out the coding and have been messing about with things like..
if cell range e.g a1 = 1 then rectangle 2 .userpicture " path " else .solid etc.

Mar 2, 2012I have a peice of code that i know is inefficient and it is in danger of becoming too large. I have a spreadsheet that has circles aligned to each cell. There are around 100 in total. The code changes the colour of the shape based on the cell value in which it sits. However, the code needs changing and also it does not automatically update the colour shape even though the cell value changes. I have to manually select a cell and then the formula bar and then press return for it to update.
I am using excel 2010.
This is the code i am using for each shape.

Secondly, I have some commandbuttons on a worksheet (added using the Forms toolbox). How would I loop through changing, say, the text on the buttons. I used the macro recorder to try to get an idea and got the following:

Sep 7, 2006I have a button on say, sheet1 with text that I want to change after a certain action takes place; however, I was trying to change this text without switching sheets. (switching sheets isn't a big deal, I'm mainly trying to do it my way for the practice). I'm able to select the button on the other sheet without actually switching sheets, but when it comes to changing it's text I get an error. Here is the code I tried:

Change Shape Color Based On Combo Box Selection
Aug 7, 2007I am trying to use a userform ( Combo Box) to update my named cell "Aircraft1" then based on the value selected change the color of an object.
The code works great if I manually enter the value in the cell "Aircraft1", however if the dropdown list selects the value the object does not update its color.
Is there a way to update the cell via a combo box, and then have the VB code change the color of the object?

A formula may change one of the values in the above column to a '1' which means the sum will become '1'. The sum can only be '1' or '0' and only one value in the column will ever change. I need to add a value of 2 to another cell (say, C1) when the sum of A1:A5 changes from a value of '0' to '1'. I know this will probably involve the worksheet change event but am having a problem implementing it.

Calculation Of The Cells Update But Very Many Of Them Do Not Change At All
Jul 20, 2006I've created a bit of a monster Excel model taking in an enormous range of inputs and outputs. Most of the formulas are vlookups and sumif's. The workbook is now about 15meg. I've got autocalculate turned off because of the great deal of time it takes to recalculate. When I do try and re-calc some of the cells update but very many of them do not change at all. If I then go into these cells and edit them (F2 enter) the correct output is given! If I close the book and re-open it normally shows the correct outputs, after a while it goes back to the error above.

Jun 23, 2009I have D4=0.42. I thought this formula =IF(D4<0.38,"Thin",IF(0.38<D4<=0.48,"Good shape","Bad shape")) was supposed to give me "Thin" for D4<0.38, "Good shape" for 0.38<D4<=0.48 and "Bad shape" for the contrary, but it only gives me "Bad shape" when D4 is clearly between 0.38 and 0.48.

Dec 12, 2011I have several data validation style drop down menus, and I basically don't want excel to recognize changes in these cells and execute a calculation of the entire workbook. Since there is a large number of calculations being performed in the workbook the sheet gets really slow.
Overall the way excel "automatically calculates" really screws me up a lot. This built in functionality could be a lot smarter in my opinion.

Because of all the 3 summary page formulas the code is taking a few seconds to run.
I'm new to VBA and just wondered whether I could switch the calculation setting for the entire workbook onto manual at the beginning of the code and then switch it back to automatic at the end of the code? Think this might speed things up.
