However the equation to other way around - converting from decimal lat long to DMS (*60) works.

It's all working well apart from the last part, where I am trying to include a decimal number. Nov 21, 2012I am a truck driver and keep a record of my loading times when I am loading and unloading. At the end of a trip i transfer all the data to my computer, then "auto sum" the "HOURS" and the "MINUTES" columns. At the bottom of ech trip I end up with figures, lets say 32 (hours) in column "J" and 303 (minutes) in column "K".
Now 303 minutes is {5 hours and 3 minutes}. Now we all know that mathematically we can work out that {3} minutes is 0.05 of 1 hour and that would make the total time worked 32 (hours) + 5 (hours(from the minutes)) + the last 3 minutes and the total is 37 hours and 3 minutes.
What I am in need of is a formula that will take the hours in column "J" add the hours from column "K", leaving the minutes to be converted to 0.05, giving me a total in cell "M29" that can then be multiplied by the wage rate in cell "M30", giving me an amount that I should be paid in cell "M31"

Jun 7, 2006I have a column of cells with values - 0.2%, 0.32%, 0.22, 0.5 etc. The cells with % symbol are in ' Percentage, 2 decimal' format while the plain numbers are in 'General' format i.e. column contains cells in either of these formats. I need a macro where I can specify the column and it will select the cells with the % format, convert it to 'General' and multiply the result by 100 eg. 0.2% converted to 'General' becomes 0.002. When multiplied by 100, result is 0.2 i.e. is displayed without the % symbol.

The items below are in column A (each range is the content of just one cell):
00:00-13:00
06:30-13:15
13:30-13:15 (this spans two days, so it's actually 23H and 45M)
23:30-03:00 & 16:00-22:10 (only the first time range matters; the second can be omitted)
So for 00:00-13:00, we have 13H and 0M = 13 * 60 = 780. And for 23:30-03:00, we have 3H and 30M = 3.5 * 60 = 210. But how do I automate this process with the text entries above (and hundreds more that are imported in this format).

But somehow...I don't know what I was doing...all the times instantly appear as decimals on the cells. The times I inputted still appears in the cell's formula bar. I tried changing the cell's format to my prefferred time format, but the cells wouldn't budge.
