I want 2 cells to display the following:
1: A hyperlink to a random cell in a particular column
2: A hyperlink to recalculate the spreadsheet (to generate another random hyperlink in the cell above, but obviously it need not be linked, literally to 'refresh').
Now, I can't find anything about number 2, but for number 1 I tried the following:
I have this code that looks through my worksheet once the conditions are met it will email, and in column "M" I put a hyperlink to where the document is stored. All works as far as the email format, even grabs the hyperlink but it’s not clickable in the email.

I am working on a Random Cycle Count Generator that provides random SKU#s based on 3 separate columns of SKU listings. The user clicks a button to generate the SKU#s to cycle count for that day. What I would like to see is a date stamp in the columns next(B,D,F) to the referenced SKU listing(A,C,E) based on which SKU#s are generated. This will let me see the last date that the SKU was generated. I would also like it to automatically save after generating.

I have an excel sheet attached that I would like to customise to become a random seat picker. I wanted it to select a random cell representing a seat and highlight that cell in someway (e.g. change the background colour or text colour) and display the data within in in a cell in the middle of the sheet.
I have used formula to achieve the later half of the problem but am unsure how to highlight the cell. my current solution uses f9 to refresh the data. Ideally I would like to attach the behaviour to a command button. I have attached the excell sheet and have highlighted the problems I am having.
I have hyperlinks betwene one worksheet to another - they only only hyperlinked thourh column & rows (eg: A100) etc. How can I lock these hyperlinks but still allow users to insert new rows without losing their place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a slight problem copying hyperlinks. I have written some code that sorts data by date and then creates a simple diary. It originally placed the name of the event in the new diary sheet. What I would like to do is instead of copying the name into this new sheet copy a hyperlink that I have created to the company's website for that event.
I can create the hyperlink using hyperlink(B1,A1) where A1 is the company name and B1 is the web address but since the new sheet will not have the underlying data I need to actually copy the values and format of the hyperlink rather than the formula.
The macro below will select a random cell, I would like to add a color (green) to the selected cell and add NO/CANCEL to msgbox, when NO is selected it will continue selecting random cell and CANCEL exit sub.

I wish to randomly select a cell, using an InputBox, and then delete the entire row that cell is in. Once the row has been deleted the InputBox opens again for the next random cell to be selected.
When finished selecting I wish to cancel out.
I have what seems to be a pretty complicated situation involving random numbers and letters. I need to generate random sets of this combination of 2 letters follows by 6 numbers (ex. AB123456). I need the final product to be randomly generated and non-repeated.
I have played with various methods of producing random numbers and random letters both repeated and non-repeated. The closest I can get would be a cell of randomly generated letters adjacent to a cell of randomly generated numbers which so far has been useless.
VBA or excel functions are both okay.

I have a range of cells that have values from 1 to 7 in them. What I would like to do is to have the next column generate a random number from 1 to 7 that does not generate the number that the cell next to it has. for example if cell A1 has 6 in it, I would like cell b1 to generate a random number other than 6 in it. if cell A2 has 3 in it then cell B2 would generate a number other that 3 (1,2,4,5,6, and 7).

But i want to save the number in a dim single variable called N. I try to put N where i have write ActiveSheet.Range("$B$2") and do N=Application.Run ...
But it doesn't work.
I have a hyperlink cell. Straightforward copying and pasting it to another cell works well, with the new cell replicating the hyperlink. However, if I try to copy the hyperlink cell to a range of cells (say B1 to B5), at first it looks ok, but once I click one of them, it appears they are all clicked. And if I delete one of the cells in the range, say B3, ALL cells within that range loses its hyperlink. It looks like all of these hyperlinks are referencing one another, but once I delete one cell, the rest loses its hyperlink (the words are still there). At the current time, I have to copy into the range individually (copy to B1, then B2, then B3...etc), but this becomes a hassle if I have a large range.

I have two worksheets. ws1 contains a large number of dates on column 3. ws3 contains around 20 dates on column 3.
I want to pick two dates randomly in ws1 that does not already exist in ws3.
Here is my working code, but it is really slow to process. How to optimize this code? Also I would like to add a function where if the macro is not able to find two random dates that aren't already in ws3 then exit loop.

I am looking for a macro that will copy the text-based contents of a random cell in the range B100:B135 to a callout text box. The name of the callout is Autoshape 13. The callout should be cleared before pasting the contents of the next random cell into it. This macro will be assigned to a button.

I have a number of sheets with a "target" cell in specified rows that contains text and a hyperlink to a file (JPG or GIF). I need to modify the filename and pathname according to other values in other cells, then update the target cell text and hyperlink.
So far i have the old filename, path and hyperlink A also have the new filename, path and hyperlink And, i can set the target cell new text.
But how do I set the new hyperlink? I've tried variations on the theme of Range.Hyperlinks(1).Add Address = newHL but nothing seems to work - run time error 438.

I have got a hyperlink in cell A4 (see code below)

(reason for subject being a cell is because it changes with time - part of a bigger macro). If I click this manually it loads the e-mail perfectly but I want it so that user doesnt have to click it and it runs upon click of an earlier button.

What I want to do is randomly select either number 1 to 11 (leftmost column OR the person it represents) but also make the selection based on the percentages in the rightmost column. To illustrate using the above example, Number 11 (Massimiliano Esposito) should have 12 times more chance of being randomly selected than Number 1 (Artur Boruc)...
I have used a formula such as

to randomly select a cell but how would I modify this to include cell weightings? Or is there a better formula?
An additional note I have is that the weighting for each person will always be changing, but will always be a percentage.
I am curious can we chose random number out of numbers if they are in one cell separated by coma
