I have simple data points based on a question that how many people liked product A between 2011 and 2012.
It looks like below
2011 2012 # of Respondents 319 329 % of respondents liking the product 78% 84.5%
The question is: is the increase from 78% to 84.5% statistically significant at either 95% or 99% confidence level. Is it possible to do this basic analysis using Excel?
I am in the unfortunate position of having to run about 900 correlations with Excel as my only option. Normally this would be fine, but in this case, I need the Pearson's test of significance. The only way I know how to obtain this in Excel is through using a regression, which is incredibly time-consuming. Does anyone have a suggestion how to make the best use of time?
I have set up a linear regression array in Excel and now want to test the significance of my r2 value at a certain level of significance. I've only been able to find tables that give the critical r value, but I want to test it at 99.73% level of confidence and none of them contain that specific value. Is there a way to do this in Excel?
I need to write a program that will take numbers from various sheets, do a function on them (specifically a statistical analysis), and print that number to a cell on one sheet. I've tried to have all of the numbers go to one cell and have the analysis done on them, but after so many sheets, I get a memory error. I don't necessarily need all of the numbers to be saved, just the result is what I need.
columns A,B and C contain the details of each event(race).Column d is the runners in each event and column E a score for each runner. I need to add 5 extra columns with the total score for each event, the maximum for each event, the average for each event, the meadian for each event and the standard deviation for each event. I need all cells filled. see attached spreadsheet. I will have thousands of events.
For my thesis I collected data of football players. I have the data in an excel file, but it is unstructured. Due to the nature of the dataset, I don't want to sort it out by hand. The result should be that the dataset is ready for statistical analysis. I have three categories, namely; Player_Performance, Player_Profile and Transfer_History. I will discuss them now.
Player Performance In this excel file the performance data of the player is gathered. As you can see, the player ID and the player name are a row above the performance data in different competitions. This data should be on the same row. Player ID, Name and then the performance data. How can I achieve this?
Player Profile The player profile file is the easiest. I want to delete the double information. Some players are 2 times in the file. I want to delete every row which doesn't start with a player id. I also want to remove player id's which arent followed by player information.
Transfer History The transfer history is the same as player performance. In the first row you will find the player id and name, and beneath are the different transfers. I want to put every transfer in a row of their own. The row should start with player id, then name and then the transfer. So it is possible that one player id will be on more rows.
In the attachment I put the files as they are and three files of how it should look like.
When the user choose a customer from a combo box then i need to get some statistical results in the text boxes, such as last amount of credit-charge, last date, and amount that he has to pay us until now.
When user adds a new amount in the grey textbox then this has to be added in the previous amount.
I have the expected results of my example in my sample sheet.
using Excel 2007, windowsXP, and am trying to find the right formula for the following problem.
I have a column of 3 digit numbers, and want to determine how many times a number occurs in the first position ie: 123 the second position ie: 123 and the third position ie: 123 in the entire column of figures?
Graphdaterange has all of my dates GS1 has the value I want to analyze
Ultimately I want to look at the last say 10 weeks of Mondays, Normalize the data removing high and low values, finally perform Sum, Min, Max, STDEV average total. formula array would work for me but when I try to use it the "And" does not appear to work correctly
I can settle for just statistical analysis of Mondays for the last 10 weeks so If normalizing makes this impossible we can eliminate the large portion of the formula.
Named ranges GS1_1 - D14-D(X) as defined by a formula is my data GraphDateRange - C14-C(X) as defined by a formula is the column containing my dates.[code]...
I am not using a macro due to the nature of the tool. I can not get iterative processes to run near as quickly a formula array.
I would like to create an excel program with Macros. The program would allow me to find out which distribution a random bunch of data belongs to. For an example, Weibull Distribution, Exponential Distributions etc;
Is there a way to generate a normal curve from just the statistical values (mean, std dev, etc)? I used the NORMDIST function but have to manually do the x values and it generates what I would descirbe as a "sample" curve. I would like to make one based on user input.
I have many large arrays of climate data. I am trying to find an array criteria formula that would filter out those years from a variation around a given year. Like this example, to filter out those years B10 (47.8) plus or minus B12 (3.339).
I have built a reporting dashboard to track emplyee efficiency .Within this dashboard i have produced a point scoring league table . I am lookinf for a forula that will automatically work out who my top performers are and arrange them in them in the form of 1st , 2nd ,3rd etc . I believe the answer to lie in the form of a pivot table , perhaps with a macro to populate the data , but would be grateful for come direction
I have a workbook that I've built for a project. I've attached a sample workbook. What I'm trying to do, for the entire sheet or workbook if possible, is turn any Cell with a percentage of 30% to 49% yellow and any cell with a percentage of 50% or more Red. I would also like to move the ID's of the variable cells, for example Id number 9922, to the cells beside the description of the rows, Affected would be an example, if the information contained in the same row as the ID meets with a set of variables.
For example I only want the ID's moved if they correspond with IDsub 1-25. One more thing, the people who will be using this spreadsheet will be copying data from a website when it is imported it does not insert the values as numbers. I would like to format the cells, in example workbook they would be any of the cells labeled ID IDsub Variable or Number, so that anything put in that cell will automatically be converted to a number.
I should also probably add that the formatting will be done on approximately 80 rows a sheet with 47 sheets.
calculating the percentage of a percentage and writing the formula for excel.
There are 295 people in a room, of the 295, 75 or 25% are mothers. (I know how to calculate 25% - 75/295 = 25.42) of the 75 mothers 35 have 3 children, 32 have 2 children and 10 have 1 child.
35 is what percent of 25% 32 is what percent of 25% 10 is what percent of 25%
I have a whole number (207) in B5. This should be seen as a percentage (207%).
I want to add this percentage to the value in M15, which is not a percent (2705.8).
I would like to display this sum in M17.
The number that is displaying now, after simply putting 207% (I don't want the % symbol in there) in B5, and the formula =sum(M17,B5) in M17 is 270787%.
Is there a formula that I may use to keep track of the YTD percentage of attendance of volunteer workers over the course of a year? I have approx 200 workers meeting once a week. Their names are listed in column "A" from A-4 to A-204. Starting in column "E" is the date of the weekday for attendance.
For Example: E-1 is dated Jan. 7, 2008. F-1 is dated Jan. 14, 08 etc. I place a one (1) in the corresponding cell to show that they attended. The formula I need would start in cell D-4 and be dragged down to D-204.
There also must be a way to factor in the weeks which we are to meet that must be cancelled due to weather etc. The worker should not be penalized due to our cancellation.
I've seen a few finance excel sheets lately (don't have an example right now... ) that have a total number for something and then in parentheses next to it a percentage of the total is automatically calculated. So I have 5 pens and that's 10% of what I have in my pencil cup --> 5 (10%) is how it is displayed.
So if I filter by AREA and/or YR, I would like the % of how many were 'Approved' in that filtered range (ignoring any blank cells in the DECISION column).
So far I have a basic =TEXT(COUNTIF(C2:C6,"*Approved*")/ROWS(C2:C6),"0% ""Approval Rate""") but it doesn't work once I filter by AREA or YR, and doesn't ignore blanks.
I have attached a file with both a sample section of data on the first sheet and the outcome I would like on the second sheet... I would do it all manually but there are over 200,000 rows in the actual file.
The macro needs to calculate the percentage of sale for each reference number within each part number and move down to the next part number and do the same until it reaches the bottom.
I've been trying to set the scroll bar min/max/small change to a decimal (percentage value) within the properties, obviously this does not work.
Since users can enter a value in the link cell for the scroll bar, how can I modify the current min/max/small change via macros so the scroll bar will show a min on 1%, small change of 0.25% and max of 25%?
I m having several problems and we will start with this one first. OK, we run machines for an 8 hour shift and these machines are down or not running for a few hours out of the 8 hour shift. I want to be able to put a number in a cell called "Delay" lets say 4:00 hours to make it easy and in the next cell over called "%" I want it to give me the % that the machine wasnt running for the 8 hours. The answer is 50%.
I have a simple spread sheet where i need a formula to work out a percentage. eg total cases 35246 number of errors 3. what percentage is the 3 of the total cases and what is the formula required to reflect the answer.
