Storing 3d Arrays In Named Ranges

I have created a 3d array in visual basic that i want to access from a worksheet. it is basically a linked set of 2 dimensional arrays (i.e. there a x items with a x b data arrays). I want to stored in a named range, as a and b may both be more than 255 (i.e the width of a worksheet). is there an easy way to store and reference a 3d array in a name, or will i have to store each a x b array as a seperate name. Also, if I have to store them separately, is there an easy way to strip the component parts of a 3d array into 2d arrays?

I need to rank the top 3 names for each location based on gender (see sample data table below).
My spreadhseet has been setup using dynamic named ranges ("Size", "Name", "Gender", "Location" and "Score") using the formula "Size"=MATCH("zzzzz",'Sheet1'!$A:$A) and then "Name" =OFFSET('Sheet1'!$A$2,0,0,Size), and so on for "Gender", "Location" and "Score".
Is there a way to design an array rank formula using the dynamic named ranges to return the name associated with the highest score for "M"s in location "N"? I want to be able to edit the formula so I can chose which rank to display (e.g. 3rd, 7th, etc).
I've been playing with the following but can't get it to work

I have the following code for a user-defined function:

To simplify, suppose Num = 3, and the three terms of Summation are {3, 5, 9}. Call these S1, S2, S3. Further, suppose the first three terms of Product are {1, 4, 12}. Call these P1, P2, P3.
My desired result of the function is 3*1 + 5*4 + 9*12 = 131. Instead, I'm getting 3*12+5*12+9*12 = 204. That is, the function is returning S1*P3+S2*P3+S3*P3, while I want S1*P1+S2*P2+S3*P3.
Can anyone instruct me as to what I need to do to get my desired result? I'm guessing it has something to do with storing Product as an array, but I'm a very novice VB'er, so I'm not sure.

I have written this macro to convert into a csv file to run for all defined named ranges in the activesheet. It run jst perfect when I hit SAVE button and it creates that many different CSV files for each named range.
However I am trying to use same macro in the another file and the problem I am facing is there a lot more named ranges and I want to run the macro for only selected NAMED RANGE. In this case 2 Named Range / 24 Named range.
What part of code do I need to change and to what to make it work for just 2 named ranges ?

I am trying to loop through the values of an array that was populated from a range. Essentially I'm trying to manipulate a pivottable depending upon what a person selected in a control form. Below is my

I get an error message stating that Subscript is Out of Range. It seems Excel is assuming that userWeekArray is a Range object when I want it to be an Array. How can I populate an array with elements from a range in a worksheet so that I can then easily loop through the array to examine the elements?

I want to have a dynamic range that will increment and return a value to a variant for some comparisons. Here is what i have

I want my if statment to use the variable "i" as part of the range for the comparison. Right now the msgbox is just to see what is happening, but will later become a different if statment that will blank a cell's value if it doesn't match the array variables.

In order to be able to replicate something like the MATCH function, which accepts a String (or cell reference), an Array of Strings (or a range of cells) and then the match type as parameters, how do I declare such a function header?
it is returning #VALUE without executing any of the function. It is something to do with the Array of Strings that is causing the problem.

hi all, i am faced with the following problem. before i describe the problem, i do not need help with recording a macro or using functions to solve the above problem, i know how to do that.
writing a code from scratch to do the following:
I need a code that will run through the above columns, and IF A=Mike and B=Fax, THEN C*D...so I want to calculate a total for everytime Mike sells a Fax (or a Tel). Column C is quantity, Column D is price.
I am sure this is a simple loop code, but I have spent days trying to figure it out and I can not do it. Recording a macro is useless, because it is too confusing to look at the code and play with it and try to personalize it.

I am trying to apply conditional formatting to the range K60:R82 based on their corresponding cell in the range K87:R109 (the arrays have the same size). If each cell in the first range is greater than their corresponding cell in the 2nd range, then the cell in the first range should be formatted with pink fill and red text.

Merge two columns into one list in excel
I would like to combine List1 and List2 into a 3rd named range called List3. I was wondering if this were possible without using any additional cells/columns (i.e. I don't want to use Column C like in the example shown in the link above).
Here's the formula from the example:

I am trying to make a UDF that searches for a header, grabs everything under the header, and pulls it somewhere else. My UDF has three parameters:
1) Output_Range: the named range where the parameters will be pulled to
2) Header: the header to search for in order to copy the data underneath it
3) WorkbookName: the name of the workbook to search in
It looks like this:

I have some named ranges that refer to 5 pieces of data organized into a row. For example, the name MyNamedRange might refer to $C$5:$C$10.
I am trying to loop through each column and get the values in MyNamedRange, then change corresponding values in a different named range. However, when I try to use Offset to access the subsequent columns of MyNamedRange, it doesn't work. It only gets the value of the first column right, the rest return <EMPTY>.

At the moment I have to click in the cell and then look at the cells used and look across to the title of the rows.
So for example, performance = D3*D4*D5*D6
I would like, performance = vehicles*availabliity*utilisation*TKM.
That is easy if I have just 1 option. But what if I have 3 options? Naming each cell would be a way to do it but pretty laborious, is there a 'smart' way to use named ranges here?

I'm creating a KPI spreadsheet which utilizes named ranges to allow for Dynamic charting. I've created the first data input sheet for one of the 10 areas being KPIed. The sheet has 60 named ranges in it.
The goal is to duplicate the existing sheet (Area 1A) 10 times and adjust the named ranges and formulas within the named ranges according to the sheet names.
Is there a way to accomplish this without having to manually recreate or edit every named range for each new sheet?

I want a sumIF function (based on three criteria) to fill the values of cells in a column so long as there are values in the cells in the column before that one. I was working with trying a loop, but have been shown a faster way is using the With function.
There are four named ranges that all exist on a separate sheet in the file: Crude, Location, Year and Volume. Based on the first three columns of the file I wish to have an output for the sum of volume based on crude, location and year.
Right now, my output simply returns the total sum of the "volume" range in each cell in the output column.
For example, if total sum of values in the volume column is 100 then my output column currently looks like:
100
100
100
100
etc...

I created a simply macro that will adjust the headings of a group of cells as follows.
But if I add a row/column to the sheet, it will then of course attempt to place the headings in the wrong cells.
I have now given that group of cells/range a Name of "AR_Buckets". But I'm not certain how to modify the macro to ensure it always places the information in the correct place.

I am having problems getting the code below to follow my intentions. I have 2 files. I have a temporary file that holds all the data that I need. I have a destination file that needs to have data copied into it. In the temp file, I have data for several dates and product types. What I intend to do is to do a vlookup in VBA to look for the date and the product type in the temp file and copy the appropriate data to the destination file. I have numerous named ranges both in my temp file and my destination file. For the code below, I wanted to make a loop to find the date in the temp file that is listed in the destination file. Once this is done, I wanted to find the product type in the temp file that is listed in the destination file. If both conditions exist, then copy a certain range from the temp file to the destination file. My intention is evident in the code, but I don’t think that I am putting in the correct “code format”.

(Using Office 2003 on XP Pro) I have two named ranges that I want to union into one big named range so that I can use the big named range in a validation table. I'm trying to make my worksheet generate a bunch of named ranges whenever it is activated. However, I'm getting a "Not a valid name" error on the line in red. The value of r is a string, so I really don't see what the issue is. Another time, I got a object defined error, but I think I've declared everyhing too. That line is very similar to the line above, and tends to work once (the first time around the loop). After that, I get the errors I mentioned.

The worksheet contains 20 different datasets which are divided into separate 30 x 10 grids, all of which help comprise a larger 300 x 20 grid. I have defined each smaller grid/dataset as its own named range. Originally the entire dataset started in A1, but I am shifting it dataset down by 40 lines to create space to work at the top of my workbook.
I am wanting to create a data validation list in A1, then have cells A3:J32 populate with the named range I select in A1. However I also want this populated dataset at the top of the sheet to be a mirror -- not a copy.
Therefore once I have the data in my range available A3:J32, anything I manipulate would be mirrored in the original range in the lower portion of the workbook.

I am importing an external Sheet into my Excel workbook but it only imports the data not the named ranges. I need the named ranges to be imported and overwrite any existing range of same name.
Example:
In existing workbook Sheet I have a named range, ABC which is A1:E10 - in the Sheet I am importing the ABC range is A1:E12. So when I have done import I want named range ABC in my workbook to become A1:E12 (as per external Sheet).

I have some named ranges and am trying to do a "Countifs" based off the named ranges. But Excel is giving me obvious incorrect data (my fault, not Excel's). I can't really post a pic of the issue, hopefully it's an obvious error on my part.
For instance
SpecialPart is a named range consisting of part numbers that I want to count seperately from all others.
PartNumber is a named range of all parts shipped for a period.
I used countifs becuase I am also checking by month. The month part works fine because I use it in other countifs. It's just this one that isn't working for me.
My formula looks like this;
=Countifs(Pmonth,Month(A3),PartNumber,SpecialPart)
As mentioned, the month part of the formula works in other calculations, but the Part/SpecialPart calculation keeps returning a "1" even though there are multiple instances of a match for each month. A manual count of January showed about 100 lines that should have been counted.
