I want a control to select a range in a userform I'm creating.
I wonder if we can use the same type of control the wizards use, where you click on the right and choose the range? Alternatively, what's the best option?
I would like to add a combobox type control that will allow multiple selections. I know that the combobox in the MS Forms Object Library only allows single selections and that the list box is the way to go to allow multiple selections, but I am trying to keep the form as small as possible. I would like to add a control similar to the one used on pivot charts, where the user clicks the dropdown box and can select multiple items. I'm hoping this control is installed with MS Office and just needs a reference to it, but I am open to installing third party controls as well.
View 7 Replies View Relatedcreating 2 fields in my userform that the user can input 2 dates that would serve as the range to set the autofilter. So user inputs field1 = 11/01/2011 and then field2 = 01/31/2012.
I was previously using a month range in my userform, populating from the known months and allowing the user to select a range. Since our data is now spanning a new year, this is no longer possible as I cannot make the combobox range go from 11 - 1 (November to January)

( it has select ABC column at the same time, if missing any column, error message will come out, or select out of this range, the error message should also come up. )
I know how to set the range to all three columns, but I know don't how to ask for " must select from all three column?"
I want to be able to select and edit a range of data on a userform. I am trying to pull the information that matches a cell range (Named as Action) into the respective textboxes. But I have fallen at the first hurdle and can't even get that working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sum a dynamic range of values, clear the range (ie. clear the numbers on the spreadsheet), then place the sum of all the numbers in the last cell in the user selected range. (essentially adding all values selected, placing final sum in the last row of the range, and leaving no trace of performing the routine)
I want the range to be selected during the userform running (using showmodal = false). I can sum the selection and write the value to a cell, but I can NOT write the cell to the last value in the selection.
So I'm creating a UserForm that takes user input to create a worksheet based on the values input. My question is: How to select a range of cells based on a variable input value? For example, it asks how many competitors there are, and the user can input 5, 8, 10, etc. So I want that many cells in Row 1 selected, whatever the value input is.

I have the following working code below, but am having trouble finding coding examples to select specific cells from the selected row (that was found by selecting a ComboBox value)and update TextBoxes with those individual values after the UserForm has been initialized (the bold "GREEN" comment in the code below). I have been able to find plenty of references to update TextBox values to Cells, but that doesn't do me much good in this application since the User needs to verify the old data in these cells before updating them using the UserForm TextBoxes.
I was toying around with several different variations of code (none of which worked properly), so I left it out for clarity of my working code. I'll post up this non-working code as needed, because I really wanted a fresh answer...not what I was trying to do. The attached file should be sufficient to see what's going on

This is weird - if you delete a sheet that contained a control then
a. showing a modeless userform resluts in a userofrm that goes invisible at subroutine End
b. public variables lose their value
These things do not happen if the sheet did not contain a control. Attached is an example file - put the inputfile.xls in your default file location (or add a path in the code) then open the ProblemDemo.xls and run the main macro to see it fal - isthis another Excelbug I've found?
I have several non-modal userforms in my App, some of them have date-fields that require manual entry typing of dd/mm/yy etc (No single userform has more than one date-box in it, this I think may be pivotally useful)
Now the Userform 'Calendar' that is built on the class of the same (cCalendar) name, has the write value line 'ActiveCell.value = theCal.value'
I'm looking to change this to refer to the correct userform.Textbox value, depending on which form is open.
I would imagine I could simply have a global string, whose value is set (or re-set) whenever a Userform is initialized (some sort of 'ActiveUF.value = Me.Name), where I get lost is referring to the components by name, so as to have a case statement by where I go:

Every time I have to do this particular thing with userforms, I completely forget how, and the object browser always leads me on an infinite loop of Application.vbe.activevbproject.vbcomponents.vbe.active....
PS - there may be one slight complication to the process - one of the forms, has a 2-tab page in it, each page having similar (but named differently) fields. So I may need to be able to throw in 'Activepage' or whatnot
I have a multipage control on my userform with the default page set at page 1 when the form initializes, which is fine in most cases. However there are some cases when I need it to open showing page 2. How do I set the control to open at page 2 using VBA?

I have a multiselect listbox in a worksheet that the user can select from. When the file is saved, closed and reopened, the user selections disappear. Is there a way of reloading the previous selections when the file is reopened? I have used the listbox from the control toolbox and have Excel 2003. My VB experience is very limited!!

I've made a user form to enter the data, so that the particular cells in the worksheet is filled and the remaining cells are calculated as per the formula.The format control (combo box) has list of range.
Is it possible to bring this format control (combo box) on the user form, so that without going to the sheet, I Can control the sheet by selecting the combo box values.
I have created a simpel userform that shows sales total and it is activated [.show function] whenever an entry is made in the order column. All of this works fine.
The only problem I have is that the curser jumps in to the text box and doesn't return to the order column where next entry needs to be made.
How do you move the curser out of the userform, back to the activesheet?
Ideally it should move to the next cell for the user to make entry.
I am attaching my sample file here. It has some odd things that I was just playing around with as learning experience. But the main question is how to control the curser.

I've got the bare bones of a toolbox control on my userform but I can seem to find anyway to refer to the buttons and control them (I’ve tried using the properties page but it doesn't seem to give me the options I need). I want to be able to add a macro and a picture to the buttons, is this possible?

I have a project with many textboxes on different forms. On some of the textbox_exits on some of the forms, I call a standard module that checks what the user has input. If the user needs to change the input, a msgbox appears to inform the user the info needs to be changed.
I have tried to use ControlSource, Name etc., But I cannot seem to setfocus back onto which ever textbox the input needs to be changed. I think it has something to do wih the _exit event, but not sure.
I have a user form where two command buttons are set with the following code:

Now, when cmdbtn1 is clicked, frame1 is visible and vice-versa.
However, the position of both the frames on the user form are not on the same position on the user form. Indeed, it takes the position of the design view.
I want a code which will place the frame1 and frame2 at the same place and position on user form, irrespective of its position in the design view.
What I missed. I already added the MS VBA Extensibility 5.3 on a VBA Reference. but still got an error.
Line1: Dim objForm as object
