VBA Code - Exit Combobox By Hitting Tab And Enter

Aug 10, 2013

I have a problem here regarding the combo box. The whole Column A has combobox. It would be easier if by just hitting the TAB or Enter it would go to the next cell just like what is usual in excel.

TAB = next cell to the right
Enter = Next cell below

Enter 4 Columns Of Data In Row Then Shift After Hitting Enter?

Jun 1, 2014

I really know nothing about vba so here goes. I would like to enter data in a row with 4 cells of info. then hit enter and return to the first cell and move the row down. all four cells must have data entered. and all four must move down. i tried some code as below i found and i modified but it did not work as expected. this moved the row down when returning the cursor to A2. It also should not copy the data style of the top row.

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Column <> 1 Then Exit Sub
Application.EnableEvents = False

Sheet Won't Calculate Without Hitting Enter

Aug 7, 2014

I found some VBA code here which I very slightly modified that I'm using to bring pictures over top of cells based on their values. The code works great but I can't get it to automatically update the pictures. To get the picture in each cell I have to hit F2+Enter. I've made sure that my calculations are on automatic.

I have tried the text-to-column trick as well as the find-replace = with = trick and neither of them worked. I'm guessing I need to call a function here to force each cell to recalculate in the same way F2+Enter works but I'm not how to do that or where to put it. I tried Application.Volatile True and that didn't work either.

Go Immediately To A Particular Cell After Inputting Data In Another Cell And Hitting Enter Options

Feb 20, 2010

I'm inputting data in E3 and after I hit enter I want B2 to be
selected. But only for E3 and only in one worksheet. And possibly a
further step... Sometimes the formula in B2 has picked up data from
another place depending on what value was entered in E3. If it's done
this then I won't need to go to B2, I'd want to go to A8 after E3
instead of B2.

Enter & Exit Events In Control Classes

May 11, 2006

A lot of people seem to have been having troubles with the fact that if you try to use controls in a class with the "withevents" keyword, some events (like Enter & Exit) are not included in the tracked events. I have been having some troubles with this myself & have not yet seen any particularly satisfying workarounds to this problem.

So here is an idea I just had, I have not made any attempt yet to implement it & so have no idea how complicated doing so would be, but I thought I would just put it out here & get some feedback on the idea before I spend any real time working on it.

The idea is to create a blank, transparent label that covers the entire form, monitor the Click event of this label, & pass it back to the normal controls on the form as necessary. Does this sound doable, or do you all think it would be merely an exercise in futility? If anyone has any better suggestions for how to work around this lack of events,

Excel 2010 :: Control ENTER And EXIT Event Firing With Frames Active?

Oct 22, 2011

I'm having some trouble getting control ENTER & EXIT events to fire properly when having controls embedded on frames within a userform. I'm using Excel 2003, 2007, & 2010. Here's the userforms I'm working with:

With FRAME:

Without FRAME:

In both cases, the DESCRIPTION field is disabled. The selectable controls on both are a combo-box, textbox, listbox, & 2 buttons. On the FRAMED version, the combo-box & textbox are contained on a FRAME.

Here's the code, same on both userforms:

Code:
Option Explicit
Private Sub cmbRecipes_Enter()
ListBox1.AddItem "ENTER - " & cmbRecipes.Value
End Sub
Private Sub cmbRecipes_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
ListBox1.AddItem "EXIT - " & cmbRecipes.Value
End Sub

All this is doing is posting a message to the listbox when the combo-box ENTER & EXIT events fire. This works as expected without the FRAME, ENTER is shown when the combo-box is entered and EXIT is shown as focus is moved to another control. But when running it on the FRAMED version all I get is a single ENTER event recorded regardless of how I move the focus through the control set.

Another oddity is that if I have more than 1 control that can receive focus on the FRAMED version, it appears to work correctly.

Close Combobox List On Mouse Exit

Oct 28, 2009

On a userform I am using the MouseMove event to dropdown a combobox list. When I move the mouse away from the combobox the list remains dropped down. I want the list to close when the mouse moves away as it hides other controls on the form.
I have tried using MouseMove when over the userform or transparent labels around the combobox to set focus to other controls but this does not close the combobox list. The only way to close the list is to click away from the combobox. I have looked at how to simulate a mouse click but that is beyond my limited understanding of vba. If this is the only way to achieve the required result then I need some patient assistance. I am using Excel 2000 on XP.

Hitting Enter In An Unlocked Cell Without It Advancing To The Next Unlocked Cell

Nov 6, 2008

I have a locked spreadsheet with unlocked cells and checkboxes. The unlocked cells is for the user to enter text. The user navigation is top to botton in column a in sequential order by row.

For example: I have an unlocked cell in A1, then 20 checkboxes from A2:A21 and then another unlocked cell in A22. My problem is that when the user types text in A1 and hits ENTER - the cursor jumps to A22 (the next unlocked cell and scrolls the screen down accordingly. The user then has to scroll back up to select the checkbox in A2 and so on down to A22 before typing in A22.

I have created a command button that floats...that ultimately I would like the user to be able to select after typing in an unlocked cell(instead of hitting ENTER) and it removes the cursor from the unlocked cell - leaving the text entered - freeing the user to select checkboxes because excel didn't advance to the next unlocked cell.

TextBox Triggers A Code On The Exit Event

Dec 12, 2008

If a user enters data in the textbox, but does not exit and instead clicks the commandbutton to unload the UserForm, the exit event code is still triggered and then for some reason the commandbutton no longer responds to being clicked. I can't seem to find a way around this.

If the commandbutton is clicked, I simply want the UserForm to be unloaded and the exit event for the textbox ignored

Find ComboBox Value & Enter TextBox Into Corresponding Cell

Jun 9, 2008

I have a userform that has two comboboxes to search data on a sheet and a textbox to input data to a specific cell on the same sheet. The cell that the textbox writes to is determined by the combination of choices selected in the comboboxes. The comboboxes are searching as required but I don't know how to determine which cell to write my data from the textbox to. I'll attempt to clarify...combobox1(drivename) searches the data in column C, combobox2(unconformlist) searches the data in column H. The combination of these determines a specific row and I need to write data from the textbox(initials) into this row in column M.

Private Sub CancelButton_Click()

Sheets("Index").Select
End Sub

Private Sub initials_Change()
initials = UCase(initials)

Hitting Nesting Limit

I'm building a model that based on the start date (cell C7) needs to display the month of the project (M1, M2, M3, M4, ... M12) under the appropriate calendar month (Dec-07, Jan-08, etc.). The formula below works great (E4 is the calendar month Dec-07 in this case, and when I drag the formula horizontally it updates (F4, G4, etc.). B33 through B44 are my month references M1, M2, M3, etc.)

Here's the problem: The below statement contains seven nested ifs and Excel won't let me add additional if statements. How else can this be accomplished?

Summing All Negatives Before Hitting A Positive

Aug 23, 2007

Let us say that this is a certain cash flow

Year - Cash flow
2007 - (200)
2008 - (100)
2009 - 50
2010 - 100
2011 - 200
2012 - (100)
2013 - (25)
2014 - 50
2015 - 300

For year 2007,2008,2012 and 2013, we have negative cash.

I want to compute for the investment cost, which I define to be the total accumulated cost before first positive cash. First positive cash occurs at 2009, so I want to sum 2007 and 2008, However, 2012 and 2013 also reports negative cash, so in the SUM formula, their values will be included.

How should I write the formula in order to sum all the negative cash before positive cash, disregarding all the other cash flows thereafter (be it positive or negative)?

VBA - Search Unique Code And Enter Data In Respective Row

I have a problem to write a VBA code for the following task:

My worksheet has a column that has a unique code in column C (Ex: HR1) which is not repeated throughout column C, and I need to insert the amount of money spent on this specific code.

I would like to know of a vba code that can search the unique code of the value entered in the first text box of the userform, then to enter the amount of the second text box into column D in relation to the respective row which the unique code is located.

I would like that the amount entered in column D regarding the unique code could be added automatically by entering any new entries in relation to the unique code selected, if this is possible. If not possible, to go inserting any new date into the next column regarding the same row of the unique code.

End With

I know that you can use VBA to add combobox’s to you excel sheet, but this doesn’t seem to be the case. You can see the example in the cell B4 in the file that I post here.
