May 1, 2007if it's possible to add a login when you open a workbook and keep a log of who has logged in with the time noted......or am I being a bit optimistic?

Mar 9, 2007Everytime I open a Shared Workbook my OPTIONS get changed and my excel tasks in my start bar and consolidated. Is there a way to prevent that?
As of now I have to keep going through Tools>Options>Show Windows in Taskbar
Macro's aren't allowed in shared workbooks - so what are other options? I would want the same for anyone who opens the file, so a local fix on my machine won't be enough.

Sep 6, 2013I have several option groups (Y & N in each) linked to cells to display TRUE / FALSE depending on which option is selected in each group. I have another cell which I want to apply conditional formatting to if EITHER Y or N is selected in all groups. At present I use COUNTIF to check for FALSE=0 in the linked cells which works if all the answers are Y. How do I apply CF if there is a mixture of Y & N (TRUE / FALSE) in all groups (I'm not sure if I've explained that well or not).

Share Workbook Option Disabled – Can’t Share Workbook
Mar 26, 2008I have a large worksheet that for some reason I can’t share.
-It does not have any lists, that I know of, do not know how to see if there are any
-It does have validation, but I have other workbooks with listed validation that are shareable
-It is not protected
-Does not have any named ranges
-Is not read only
-I have saved it as another file name and no luck there
-I have copied the one sheet I really need into a separate file to try that it did not work,

Creating Login Via A Userform?

Basically I’m trying to create a login userform that launches once the database opens.
Userform = LoginTextbox = UserformTextbox = PasswordCommand Button = UserloginCommand Button = UsercloseSheet containing passwords = Userpasswords
Usernames are stored vertically in the A column, and Passwords vertically on the B column both starting from row 1.
I’ve been using code found at [URL] but I’m struggling to make it work. Some of the variables listed below may be useless but I’m not entirely sure so I’m sceptical about removing them. !

Jul 16, 2008I have an excel file where different people have to make their comments. So far I have sent out the files on email and they sent it back and then copied their comments to the original file, but from now on I would like to share the file and let them to write in their comments.
In order to make it professional I would like the file to work as following (lets suppose that I am Mr.X and I have to write my comments in row 2,6 and 9):
1. When I (Mr.X) open the excel file, there is a pop up message box with a drop down list saying: "Please select your name:"
2. In the drop down list I select my name (Mr.X) and I press OK.
3. Then I get logged in the file and I will see rows 2,6 and 9 only.
4. After making my comments I save the file and log out.
As for the example lets assume that there are 3 people who are making the comments. Mr.X /rows 2,6 and 9/, Mr.Y /rows 1,3 and 8/ and Mr.Z /rows 4,5 and 7/

Track Changes Based On Login Name
Dec 21, 2006I've been looking around for a way for Track Changes to reference the loggedin username of the workstation rather than the name in Excel registration.
I found this

But I don't know how to enter it to make this work. I had read you make it a new module and assign a formula, but the most I could get through was opening the VBA editor for the workbook, creating a new module, and pasting the code. Changes would still reference the Excel registration name, not the Windows' logged in username.

I try and pull stock info from the site, but I have to manually initiate a new web query, go to the website, login, then cancel the web query for the macro on my spreadsheet to start pulling information. Login Form - User Access
Jun 4, 2014I have a userform (Login), which allows you to login by entering your username, password and by selecting your role.
When you enter the username, password and role and click on submit, it shows another userform (Activities).
Now what I want is, when i enter username, password and select the role as team manager and click on submit, it should show the userform - "Manager_Login". For all other roles, it should show the userform - "Activities".
The usernames, passwords and roles are on the sheet - "User Access".

Creating A Login System For Users
Dec 7, 2006I have a worksheet that is going to be used my approx. 10 people at my company. I want to give access to certain menus to a few people and other menus to others. I have 2 custom menus. One is for each group, but I don't want to allow access to the other groups menu. Is there a way to create a way of logging in via username and password so that excel can display only the correct set of menus depending on who is using the sheet at the time? I think there is a way that excel can recognize the windows login and password for each person and maybe I can use that? If so, how do I then set it up to display only the correct menus to certain users?

May 23, 2014I am trying to create a log-in page on a userform, frmlogin in "sheet3." The userform is simply a textbox, Username (txtuser) and a textbox, Password (txtpass). Command Button is cmdcheck
I want the User to enter their username and password and for my macro to verify that they match referencing data in a seperate worksheet, (Sheet6).
Upon verification I want the user to be unloaded on "sheet1"
