Vba For Conditional Chart Fill Colour Change

Apr 22, 2014

I have a spread sheet with various tick boxes, that when ticked calculate an accumulative percentage in a cell. This cell is the basis of my graph. e.g. if the cell displays 80% - the chart with show 80% - simple.

however, I want to write a vba code that changes the fill colour of the chart depending on the percentage.

i.e. if the percentage data = 0-49% I wish the chart to display as red. 50-69% - yellow and 70%+ = green.

Conditional Series Collection Colour For Chart

Sep 24, 2009

I am using a bar graph and would like conditional formatting for a series collection. So if the series collection is greater than 30%, the single entry (not the whole series) would turn red. I have attached an image of what I currently have. There is a data validation list at the top which tells the graph what series to use, so the data is always changing.

I hope this all makes sense. Basically, if an entry is above 30%, I want the single entry in the series to turn red.

Change Colour In A Cell - Conditional Formatting

Dec 4, 2008

I want to change the colour in a cell depending on the sum of two other cells.
ie
A3=1,B3=1
A4=2,B4=1
A5=1,B5=0
A6=2,B6=4

So i want if
A3+B3>2 THEN C3 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A4+B4>2 THEN C4 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A5+B5>2 THEN C5 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A6+B6>2 THEN C6 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR

SO IN THE END ONLY C4 AND C6 WILL HAVE GREEN COLOUR.

Is there any formula to do so with conditional formatting?

Conditional Formatting And Change Its Background Colour

Jun 30, 2009

I'm trying to set a conditional formatting to do the following:

If A1 is greater than 1, A2 will change its background colour to green. So the format needs to be in A2.

Basically in A1 is a page number that we have reconciled our bank statement to (labelled as "64" or "65" and so on), A2 has the end of statement amount.

Every month end we do a bank rec, the green cell is a marker to show what point we reconciled up to previous month.

Conditional Formatting Colour Change Based On Dates?

Jan 8, 2012

I have a simple due date spread sheet for tasks that need completing at work. I am able to make the 'Due date' cell turn red when it is equal to or less than todays date, using conditional formatting. No problem.

I also have a 'Date closed' cell which is populated with a date when the task is complete.

What I am struggling to do however is change the red 'Due Date' cell to Grey once the 'Date Closed' cell is populated with a date. In fact I would like the whole row to be greyed out once the 'Date Closed' cell is populated.

I also have an 'Open / Closed' cell, which tells me if a task is open or closed, being chosen from a drop down I installed. Could this be used as an alternative to the 'Date Closed' cell. ie If someone selects 'Closed' in cell A4 the whole A row goes grey.

Formula For Conditional Rule To Make Row Change Colour Over Multiple Sheets

Jul 10, 2014

I want to change the colour of rows depending on the letter that is in a column. I want it to do it over all the sheets of the document. In the G column there will be letters like 'W' and 'L' that signify something and I want to make it clear by changing the row colour fill. I've tried a few formulas I found by googling but they didn't work. I should point out that the letters are connected, so if I put a 'W' on the second sheet it appears on the first sheet as well.

Excel 2003 :: Conditional Formatting Not Working And Cannot Change Colour Of A Cell Or Writing?

Sep 23, 2013

Excel 2003

On one of our computers at work, Excel is acting especially strange. The conditional formatting in Excel on one of our computers is not working. In addition, we cannot fill a cell with any color or change the color of the writing. We can click a color for the letters and type it in, but immediately after another cell is highlighted, the writing goes black again. When we try to highlight multiple cells with the cursor, the cells are black instead of the normal color. This happens to not just spreadsheets that are new, but existing spreadsheets on our shared drive from only this one computer as well. No other computers are affected this way. All other computers show the spreadsheets fine and do not have any functionality issues.

=If (forumla) = Colour Fill Cell

Oct 5, 2009

I have two dates lets call them cells A1 and A2. I then have another cell that caluclates the difference in these dates into a simple number (ie not another date) - A3. I need one of two things.

Ideally I want the whole cell (A3) to appear as a Green (fill) cell if the value is below 5, appear Orange if beween 6 and 9 and appear as red if its 10 or over.

I do not know if you can colour a cell that has a formula in already. So what follows is my current 'work around', which, if you can not colour the A3 cell, then I would need this cell coloured (A4). =IF(D12>7,"Urgent Attention",IF(D12<5,"New",""))

How To Identify / Reproduce Fill Colour

Oct 5, 2013

If there is a colour in a cell that I want to use in another cell how can I find what the colour is, and/or copy it to the new location?

Sometimes a colour other than those available as a "standard" colour is used and it is almost impossible to match it by trial and error.

I realise that the Format Painter can be used but I often just want the colour only and not have the rest of my format altered.

Auto Format Fill Colour Background On Certain Cells

Apr 2, 2007

I have been working on a spreadsheet but I use autoformat for.

For example if the date in the cell matches today's date then it turns the text read and makes it bold.

I was wondering if there was a way to format several cells in a row if a certain criteria was met.

for example

A B C
1 Item Cost Quantity
2 Car £11,520 2
3 Bike £7,500 1
4 Tyres £50 4

Now for example if I set a condition whereas the quatity is greater than 3 then it would highlight the whole row.

So in the example above I would like to to highlight row 4 and Fill colour cells A4,B4 & C4 with a yellow background and Red Text and make the texted bold.

Bar Chart Colour

Oct 1, 2009

I have a problem relating to a bar chart that I just can't get around. I have Excel 2003. My problem is this. I have created an attendance record sheet for members of a club. The sheet records attendances for two separate events which occur a week apart every month. The names of the members are shown vertically in one column. Multiple parallel columns then follow in which members' attendances are recorded. At the top of the sheet, at the head of each attendance column, are two headings, one on top of the other. The first of these is the date, and the second is the attendance rate shown as a percentage. I can generate a bar chart alright from these two headings. My problem is that I want some way of showing the two different events every month as two different colours, event one in red and event two in blue, so that they will stand out. So far the chart will only let me show everything in one colour.

Changing Fill Colour Of Cells Based On Other Cell Inputs

Jun 20, 2014

I have a calendar set up with dates going along P6:CU6. Column C9:C27 has various status' for the job such as "Complete" or "In Progress" etc. Next to that in rows D and E I have start and end dates for the job. What I am trying to do is change the fill colour of the empty cells that are in line with each job, so that between the correct dates they are the corresponding colour to the status. So a complete job on row 9 that started on 26/05/14 and finished on 28/05/14 would have three green cells along Q9, R9, and S9.

I have tried an IF/AND/OR statement which looks like this:

=IF(AND(Q6>=D9,Q6<=E9),OR(IF(C9="Planned","P",""),IF(C9="In Progress","IP",""),IF(C9="Late","L",""),IF(C9="Complete","C","")),"")

I am getting a #VALUE! data type error, I have tried reformatting the cells to various date formats but no luck so far. This could be because my dates are set up as =P6+1 etc. but I am not sure. The error only occurs when the cell falls within the dates, otherwise it remains blank.

I intend to hide the value in the cell and use conditional formatting to change the cell colour based on the hidden input.

Once this is working I also need to take weekends into account, column G has any 2 value combination of Y and N to say whether the employee is working Saturday, Sunday or both. Row 7 has a "1" value underneath every Saturday and a "2" underneath every Sunday. I can imagine how this would work but combining it with the above formula could be complicated.
