Age Function - How To Take A Cell With Date In It
Nov 4, 2011How can I take a cell with a date in it (A students birthday) and in another cell automatically show how old that student is? (2/18/03 in cell A1 and show 8 in cell A2)

DATE Function & IF Function (return A TRUE Or FALSE Based On A Date In A Cell)
Dec 8, 2009I am trying to return a TRUE or FALSE based on a date in a cell.
for example:
if cell A1 = 07/11/2009
I want A2 to show TRUE or FALSE if A1 is 14 days or more behind todays date.
I have tried stuff like:
=IF(A1=TODAY()-14,"True","False")
but it just always says false. EDIT: I have just noticed that if I change the date in A1 to exactly 14 days behind todays, it returns TRUE. So, it does work. Do I need to add a GREATER THAN in there?
Function For Having Last Backup File Date Value In Cell?
Oct 10, 2012I would like to have a cell that gives the date of the last save made on the file itself. Like, it has been saved on Oct-3rd for te last time, I open it on Oct-10th and see thru that cell that all last changes were made on Oct-3rd.

Feb 14, 2012What I wanted was to a function, say, "=LastModifiedDateOf(CELL)", where CELL, is a parameter that indicates the cell I want to monitor. If the value of such cell ever gets changed, the cell containing the function has its value updated to the current date.
E.g.
A1 = "AA"
A2 = "=LastModifiedDateOf(A1)" -> "10/03/2011 10:30:32"
-- Make an update:
A1 = "BB"
A2 = "=LastModifiedDateOf(A1)" -> "14/02/2012 12:15:11"
I'm not quite a super user in Excel, but this function would be very very useful for me.

Mar 17, 2009I am rewriting functions for my companies inventory spreadsheets. Excel for some reason took the item codes and formatted them into date format. Right now it is in 10/01/1902 format, and it needs to be in 10-1902 format. I've tried reformatting the cells but so far I haven't found one that works.

What i would like to do is for the period to be self calcuating from current date and the loan start date. I can return a value in days using start date - today() and aware month function returns the month number but stuggling to find a way to work out cumulative month from the start date.

I however need a macro that will delete the cell contents if the "Start of Cover Period" (column AK) date is > than the "End of cover period" (column AL) date.
Thus it must compare ak2 with al2 and if ak2>al2 then clear both cells. if AK2

Jul 17, 2008I have created a List in excel of various tasks. (See attached example.) Each row contains one cell with a function which equals the cell above it and to the right. So the function for cell C3 would be D2. The only importance is that the cell mirrored is always the cell one above and to the right. However, now I would like to be able to rearrange this List, but the “one up and to the right” function will now be all over the place.
Is someone aware of a function which will target a relative location instead of an exact cell?
Force Function To Use Row Relative To Cell Housing Function
Mar 2, 2008I have been looking around have this much code from this site, modified. What I am trying to do is calculate numbers by a position with cells D through K having numeric values. I have 'hardcoded' the cells (D2, E2, etc in the code below), but in reality I only want the current row (so if the formula is on the 2nd row, I want D2, if it is on the 3rd row, I want D3).
My problem is obviously the formula isn't working because I am not correctly tying back to the spreadsheet (Positioncalc.xls). When I put the formula in the spreadsheet it works, but in my script I get 0 everytime.
My Script:

So, when I put =Position(A2,True) I expect to see the formula results of those cells calculated based on the position (QB, HB, etc with their unique formulas).
My next challenge after this is to highlight certain cells based on the Position. So if A2 = QB, I want cell D2 boldface and Red, etc. I have seen some scripts on colors and such here, so I might be able to figure it out.

I would like a formula that gives me the value in column B if the date of today is equal to the date in column A.
I've tried with simple IF formulas but it doesn't really work because the formula spans over several rows.

Jan 31, 2009I have a spreadsheet which has a date in a column, day in another and an IF function related but the if function does not seem to be working, can anyone assist? here is an example of how it is setup Cell A1 has a date e.g. 31/01/2009. Cell A2 returns the day of the week function =WEEKDAY(A1,1) formatted to custom to return the DAY of the week using dddd. Cell A3 has the IF function e.g. =IF(A2="Saturday",0.1,0). Cell A3 is the PROBLEM as all this ever returns is 0 (false) and never returns 0.1.

=LOOKUP(WEEKDAY(A1),D2:D8,C2:C8)&A1
that I want to look up the Day (mon, tue, etc) and then return the date entered in cell A1
So if the date in cell A1 is 01/05/08, the formula should return Thu01/05/08.
Currently it returns Thu39569, even though the cell is formatted as a date format... How do I get it to return the date in a date format?

Jan 23, 2010I have been trying to get this formula to work, and it appears it only works when it wants to and I cannot figure out why. What I'm trying to do: I have a spreadsheet with several columns of data, but I want the formula to read only two entire columns for a specific criteria for each column, then display the most recent date based off the criteria. I do not need to total up the criteria, just display the last date. This is what I have so far: =IF((AND(Sheet2!A:A=B2,Sheet2!B:B="Game: Counter Strike - Source")),MAX(Sheet2!C:C)).
I have this in a table, header as "last date" which is (C2), the B2 in my table would be where criteria would be typed in. So basically, my table should pull the last date from based off the criteria from raw data in sheet2, that is entered in to B2 on sheet1 and is "Game: Counter Strike - Source".

I have read quiet a few threads, but i can't seem to make my code work.

dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss most of the time.
When this is downloaded it is easy to manuplite. But some times it show as
above but as a text string or sometimes the dd/mm is switched to mm/dd.
Does anyone know the work rounds these formulas?
I use the dd/mm and Hr function to complie reports from column A but usually
spend hours using mid() left() function due to the date change.
I have tried formating the cell but this does not work?

Mar 25, 2012I have a sub that copies a section of my sheet onto another sheet and then clears out my sheet so I can type in the sales numbers for the next day. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the date to change.
What I would like to do is to have the Macro type the date MM/DD/YYYY into cell C9. The date should be whatever date the computer clock is set to minus 1 (since we are filling out yesterday's sales). The other part that I am struggling with is making B9 appear as the specific day of the week.
The key part of this is, C9 may have the date entered in manually and if so, I would like to be sure that the day of the week matches the date entered if at all possible.

Find Value By Date Within Function
Mar 9, 2007I am comparing two series of data, a daily series and a weekly series, to make calculations. The "F" column is daily data and the "I" is weekly.
The formula I am using is:
=IF(AND( SUM(I58:I62)<F62,I63>F63),B64,0)
The data I need to use in the "F" column in place of "F62" is always on a Friday.
I had taken "F62" which is the preceding working day's data. In fact I need to take the preceding Fridays data in column "F" as I need to compare the week to week trends. Due to bank holidays I cannot count back form F62 to get the data. There is always end of week data recorded on Fridays even though it may be a bank holiday.
I have the dates in the "H" column. Can a date reference be used in the formula to find the Friday data in column "F"? Or is there another solution to this problem?

Sep 1, 2009I just want to ask if we can create a formula that will not go to saturdays and sundays. example :
I use =today()+3 so it means if today is tuesday the result is friday, if im going to open it tomorrow the result will adjust to saturday if that happens i want the day to be automatically go back on friday, the date itself, so it means i'll just wait on friday to get the result as "monday". It just avoid saturdays and sundays,. Is that possible? By the way, format would be m/d/yyyy.
