Fill Shape With Picture 2007

Aug 21, 2007

The following works perfect in 2003.

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim shpTemp As Shape
Set shpTemp = Worksheets("Sheet3").Shapes(ListBox1.Value)
shpTemp.Copy

With Worksheets("Sheet1")
.Activate
. Range("A1").Select
.Paste
Set shpTemp = .Shapes(.Shapes.Count)
shpTemp.Fill.UserPicture ListBox2.Value
End With
End Sub

However, when run in excel 2007 the shape is not filled. If you right click the shape, format shape and click on the "Picture or texture fill" it will fill the shape with the previously selected picture in the userform. I have tried by adding

shpTemp.UserPicture.Fill.Visible = True....................

Assigning Inputbox Value To Cell Works In 2004 Not 2007

Nov 20, 2009

I'm working on a tracking spreadsheet that needs to be able to function on both Excel 2004 for Mac as well as Excel 2007 for PC. The code below is written to ask for a date when the status of a particular row of cells is changed to a value other than "". These cells have validation lists where the list itself is just below the cell in hidden rows. It then places the date entered in the corresponding cell to the right of the list choice in the hidden rows and the top row is simply a vlookup to show the date with the status choice.

This way, when the status cell is changed again, it retains the date in the hidden rows while setting a different one. The code below is obviously not the full code, the whole code includes other functions and is a bit long, but I've narrowed it down to this:

Excel 2007 :: Add Textbox Onto Tilted Shape And Add Some Text

Apr 28, 2013

I have a picture in my spreadsheet which slight tilted. I want to add a text box on to that shape and add some text but i want the text to be angled the same shape as my picture.

If I create and rotate my text box manually, the default rotation makes it rotate slight to much.

I was hoping if I could add a custom drawing of a text box so the text can be the same a picture.

Assigning Macro Shortcut

Oct 17, 2006

I have a workbook that when I open it opens a toolbar that was designed for it. I have been asked to make changes to this toolbar. One of the changes is to allow shortcut keys to run these modules. I have tried recording a macro and viewing the code, I tried applying this code there but it does not using the shortcut key. note that this toolbar is only available to this workbook, so these macros are not available to the personal workbook.

Assigning Macro And Using Relative Referencing

May 19, 2014

This one is a two parter. Part I is a bit of a necessity and Part II is a nice to have that would save me a boatload of time.

Part I: I need to assign a macro to a specific object in a cell. I've seen the code for targeting a static cell, but my data can be filtered and sorted.

For example, I have a cell in I6 that has text "Partial Deployment" that I want to run a macro on. If I were to sort alphbetically, this cell could end up as I20.

How to assign a macro to the text inside the cell? Also the text is not unique.

Part II: I would like to write a macro using relative referencing for similar to the below:

When user clicks on said object from Part I, the macro reads the corresponding column in that same row and users that to filter data on a separate spreadsheet.

Example: User selects "Partial Deployment" in cell I6, the macro references cell E6, copies the number "191", and uses that number to filter data on a separate spreadsheet.

Paste Special And Assigning Macro To Cell

Aug 8, 2012

1.The code stopped to work when I change from Paste to PasteSpecial.

Sub Copyfriction()

Dim DestWS As Worksheet: Set DestWS = ActiveSheet
Dim DestCLL As Range: Set DestCLL = ActiveCell
Dim UserChoice

2.As you see the right cell on the the destination sheet need to be selected. So Im planing to run the macro when double clicking the cell in question. I have tried the next

If Target.Address = "$A$6" Then

VBA Macro To Move Shape Around Spreadsheet

Dec 16, 2009

I am trying to write a set of code, part of which involves moving a shape around an excel spreadsheet in a square shape within a certain range. It is based on a random number generator. The shape moves a number of cells to the left/right/up/down depending on the random number (d) multiplied by 16. If the shape reaches a row or column border point, it will change direction but continue moving in the new direction until it has gone as far as was determined by the random number (*16). I have some code which works fine... to a point! The shape starts out, reaches a right hand border, changes direction to go up, reaches another border, changes again and goes left, but then when it comes to change dorection the 3rd time and go down, it fails. The direction of the shape is determined by a word in cell A1 - left/right/up/down:

Sub MoveRed()
Application. ScreenUpdating = True
Dim d As Integer
Dim i As Integer

d = Range("AZ1").Value

With ActiveSheet.Shapes("RedDot")
For i = 1 To 16 * d

Select Case Range("A1").Value

Assigning Bar Charts Different Colors Based On RGB Numbers In Table With VBA Macro

Apr 30, 2014

I have some excel sheets that are formatted like the following:

COMPANY | TOTAL | R | G | B
company1 | 10 | 255 | 000 | 000
company2 | 20 | 000 | 255 | 000
company3 | 30 | 000 | 000 | 255
...
and so on...

My question is that I would like to have a macro that runs on this basic file and creates a bar graph with the data. Then it utilizes the RGB values in the columns to change the specific bar for that row. So setting the r, g, b as variables corresponding to the columns in the sheet. Also there isn't a preset number of rows in the files.

Run Macro After Leaving Shape Editing Mode?

May 14, 2014

I've got a macro function which calculates the area of a polygon freeform using the 'shoelace'-methode. I would like to excute this function after i leave the shape editing mode.

For example: I have a square, freeform shape. By right-mouseclick I can edit the shape nodes. If i drag one of the nodes of the square to another position and click outside of the shape, the new shape is updated. Right, on that moment i would like to trigger my macro to recalculate the area.

Is there an event in excel to aim for, like the Worksheet.change-event or something similar?
