Fill Shape With Picture 2007

Aug 21, 2007

The following works perfect in 2003.

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim shpTemp As Shape
Set shpTemp = Worksheets("Sheet3").Shapes(ListBox1.Value)
shpTemp.Copy

With Worksheets("Sheet1")
.Activate
. Range("A1").Select
.Paste
Set shpTemp = .Shapes(.Shapes.Count)
shpTemp.Fill.UserPicture ListBox2.Value
End With
End Sub

However, when run in excel 2007 the shape is not filled. If you right click the shape, format shape and click on the "Picture or texture fill" it will fill the shape with the previously selected picture in the userform. I have tried by adding

shpTemp.UserPicture.Fill.Visible = True....................

Change Shape Fill To Picture When Another Cell Equals To 1

May 14, 2014

I have set up a rollover hyperlink so that when I hover over the cell it changes colour and creates a good effect. To do this I have another cell on the sheet that turns to 1 when the cell in question is hovered over.

I need a code so that when that cell displays the number 1. the object (which is rectangle 2) changes from white fill. to a picture I have saved on my desktop.

I cant quite figure out the coding and have been messing about with things like..

if cell range e.g a1 = 1 then rectangle 2 .userpicture " path " else .solid etc.

Macro To Enter Shape Or Picture?

Sep 30, 2012

I am making a spreadsheet file for our football offcials group to review rules.

I tried to record a macro to copy a shape and put it into the spreadsheet, but the shape does not copy.

How do I get the shape to copy into the spreadsheet?

What I want is for them to "think" what they would do and then click the macro and it will show them where the ball would be after the foul/fouls.

Create Excel Shape From MapInfo *OR* Make Picture Background Transparent?

Aug 13, 2008

I'm trying to make a map of 14 regions where each region changes brightness depending on values in the worksheets. I think I've got this bit sorted. I'm planning on creating the map using a collection of tessellated shapes or images, and using VBA to alter the properties of each one to create a dynamic map.

The output of the individual maps from MapInfo, our GIS software, is in .png or .jpg. format, and come with a white background. Is there any way to either make the background transparent so multiple shapes can be tessellated effectively, or a way to crop the image to the area's border?

Either that, or does someone know a way to output from MapInfo in such a way to make this possible? (Granted, it's a long shot, but you can't blame a guy for trying...)

Use One Big Picture To Fill Instead Of Gradient Fill?

Jul 21, 2014

I am currently working on a project and want to use a picture of a cauldron and have that filled in as opposed to a bar graph filled with cauldron pictures. Is this possible? I picture something similar to how someone would fill a picture on a piece of paper until they hit their goal.

Secondly, If I need to do a bar graph I know I can do conditional formatting on the values within their cells but can I create this formatting specifically to the graphs themselves?

Cannot Make Shape Fill Without Clicking

May 26, 2014

For this example.. Think of this information:

shape = rectangle 1

starting fill colour = 255,255,255 (white)

I have a cell on the other part of sheet which has a value of 0 - but changes to 1 when I hover over another part of the sheet.

I need this shape to change fill from white to an image whenever that cell changes value to "1".

I need all this without clicking on an object! JUST when the cell changes, I can mange it with a click but that's besides the point.

Insert Picture Code Not Working In 2007

Aug 18, 2009

I have used the following code behind a projects Command button for some time, and works well in Excel 2002/2003.
It's used to look for and insert a Picture file, located on the users PC, select cell C2, re-size it to fit inside a bordered cell area and then nudge it over, off the border line.

Sub Load_Image()
Dim oPict, PictObj
Dim sImgFileFormat As String
'Open file
GetPict:
oPict = Application.GetOpenFilename("All Pictures (*.tif; *.bmp; *.jpg; *.gif; *.jpeg; *.png; *.cpt; *.tiff),*.tif; *.bmp; *.jpg; *.gif; *.jpeg; *.png; *.cpt; *.tiff")
If oPict = False Then End
Range("C2").Select
Set PictObj = ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert(oPict)
With PictObj
.ShapeRange.LockAspectRatio = msoFalse
.ShapeRange.Width = 712#
.ShapeRange.Height = 510#
End With
PictObj.Select
With PictObj
Selection.ShapeRange.IncrementLeft 1#
Selection.ShapeRange.IncrementTop 1#
End With
Range("A1").Select

End Sub

Unfortunately, Excel 2007 doesn't seem to identify the Cell reference "C2".
It modifies the Picture size OK but does not position the picture in the correct position.
I've tried re-recording it but 2007 misses most of actions.???
Despite my efforts looking on other forums, I don't seem to find a code that works on both version of Excel.

Excel 2007 :: VBA Code To Resize Picture In PowerPoint

Feb 14, 2012

So far my VBA will copy my range of cells in Excel and paste them into Powerpoint but I'm totally stuck as to how to resize the image from there. I've tried a bunch of different methods and I get some pretty crazy results but can't seem to punch through to a solution. What I'd like it to do, at the end of the VBA is:

Set the lock aspect ratio to false
Set the Height to 5.5"
Set the Width to 9.83"
Set the horizontal position to .08 from Top Left
Set the Vertical position to .58 from Top Left

I cannot seem to get my save as portion to work at all. I commented it out at the bottom. This is all in Excel and PPT 2007.

Here is what I have so far:

Sub Export_Excel_to_PowerPoint()

Dim ppApp As PowerPoint.Application
Dim ppSlide As PowerPoint.Slide
On Error Resume Next
Set ppApp = GetObject(, "PowerPoint.Application")
On Error GoTo 0

[Code]...

Ultimately the behavior I'm looking for with this macro is to copy a filtered range of cells from Excel and paste it as a picture into Powerpoint (up til this point I'm golden) then resize the image on the slide, save the presentation, then exit PPT.

Excel 2007 :: Picture Created With Unique Names - Adding Comments To Cell

Oct 23, 2012

Excel 2007

I have a few dozen pictures created when a macro runs. They all have unique names. I'd like to add comments to cells, where the cell.value decides which picture to pull. All the examples I've found online show how to do this if you have pictures saved on your hard drive by referencing the file path "c://mydocs/...blahblah/"

Is there a way to reference the pictures I've created/named with my macro?

Here's the snippet of code that creates the pictures and names them:

Code:
For i = 2 To Application.CountA(Sheets("Allocation").Rows(1))
Sheets("Allocation").Activate
Set rInput = Sheets("Allocation").Range(Cells(1, i), Cells(10, i))
sPicName = "_" & Sheets("Allocation").Cells(1, i) & "_"
sSheet = Sheets("Allocation").Cells(3, i)
dDate = Sheets("Allocation").Cells(5, i)

[Code] ......

Here are some examples that are close to what I'm looking for.

VBA Express : Excel - Add pictures that float like comments.

Fill Down In Filtered List-2007

Jun 27, 2008

In Excel 2003, when I had a filtered list, I could enter text in a column and copy that text "down" to the "visible" rows- and it only copied to those rows. In Excel 2007, when I do a fill down or use the fill handle, it copies the text into the "hidden" rows as well as the visible rows. Is there an option or alternative way to "fill down" in a filtered list to only copy to the visible rows? Auto Merged Post Until 24 Hrs Passes;I did further research elsewhere on the web - it appears to be a known MS bug - here is the text I found that addresses the issue:

If you place your cursor in a cell within column A, before you make the
selection from the dropdown on that column, then the fill handle will behave
correctly. If the cursor is place anywhere outside of the autofiltered range before
making the selection with the dropdown, then you do get the behaviour as
described. It is a bug, MS do know about it. Alternatively, you can choose Insert tab>Table to apply to your data, rather than using Autofilter. The Data table has the same dropdowns, and the autofill feature always works correctly when you make a filtered selection and then fill down.

Excel 2007 :: Copy Fill Without Stepping Value?

Dec 30, 2012

I have excel 2007. I have a workbook with 2 tabs set up as follows:

Tab ATab B

Tab A contains a column with the source data, which will be constantly overwritten

Tab B has a row which references the data in tab A

I would like to copy the reference formula in Tab B down for say 100 rows, but when I use the fill tool, it automatically moves the reference cell up one. I want it to remain the same as the original.

E.g
Tab B, Row 1
ColA = Tab A, Row 1
ColB = Tab A, Row 2
ColC = Tab A, Row 3

When I fill copy the above; on Tab B, Row 2, the formula changes to ColA = Tab A, Row 2, ColB = Tab A, Row 3 etc. I would like them to remain as ColA = Row 1, ColB = Row 2 etc.

I will then use Tab A to input each rows data in Tab B, having converted the previous row into just text so it doesn't change with each update.

Locate A Shape Within A Shape

Jan 24, 2014

On the attached spreadsheet there is two irregular shapes. "Area1" & "Area2". I need to be able to determine which area the "ball" shape is located in. If the ball is in Area1 then "Multiply 8" gets the ball and "Multiply 9" moves to the blue cell "AH39". If the ball is in "AreaB" Multiply 9 gets the ball and "Multiply 8" runs to cell "S37"

I should be able to do the moving of the shapes using all the samples, its determining which area the ball is in is the problem.

In the real spreadsheet i will probably have around 10 different Areas.

Excel 2007 :: Conditionally Format Cell To Have The Fill Color Of Different Cell

May 25, 2011

I have a spread sheet and I want to conditionally format rows to be a certain color. That part I'm fine with. But I don't want them to be a set color. I have a "key" of different colored cells that I want to be the fill colors of the formatting. The ultimate goal is that for example the key looked like this

red
blue
yellow
green

then the rows I had would be formatted as red, blue, yellow, and green. But if you were to go into the key and change the first cell from red to purple, then the rows would become formatted as purple, blue, yellow, and green. Obviously I can copy formating by hand using the format painter, but I want it to update automatically.
