I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.
I have a table that looks like this (its basically a historical data of a stock exchange):
Date Index January 4, 2010
[Code]....
The List continues till the current Date.
I want to calculate Average Index Values of a Date of each month within a Date Range. Example: Calculate Average Index Values for 3rd of Each month from 1st Feb 2010 to 3rd Jan 2011. Formula should calculate Average of the Index Values for 3rd Feb 2010, 3rd March 2010, 3rd April 2010, 3rd May 2010, 3rd June 2010, 3rd July 2010, 3rd Aug 2010, 3rd Sept 2010, 3rd Oct 2010, 3rd Nov 2010, 3rd Dec 2010, 3rd Jan 2011.
Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.

I have faced with a problem with Excel when I wanted to find the average for a stock price.
I have 2 columns: 1st Column: Dates from 1st May 2007 till 23th December 2008 (Rows:A3:A403) 2nd Column: Stock prices from 1st May 2007 till 23th December 2008 (Rows:B3:B403)
I would like to get a monthly average between the first of the month & the end of month of a handful of percentages collected during the month for individual projects.
I will attempt to make this as easy as possible in explaining something I am looking to do. I am looking to Calculate the average lifespan of an individual based upon
1) They are "dead" (A status, either "Alive" or "Dead" found in Data!F2:F653) 2) They were born between 1/1/2007 and 12/31/2007 (Delivery Date provided in Data!C2:C653)
I'm trying to complete an excel project for work that keep track of orders from several systems as they come in. Every time I get a new order I put the name of the part ordered in column B4:B5000 and have it set to automatically datestamp that days date in column D4:D5000. The problem I'm running into is that on a separate sheet I want to keep track of the average time between orders while also skipping any blank cells and returning a 0 instead of a div/0 error if the sheet has no orders. For Instance:
Widgets 100 10/15/14
Sprockets 44 10/20/14
Cogs 60 10/25/14
The answer I would be looking for here should be 5 skipping over the blank row. I've scoured the net and tried numerous formula but nothing seems to work.
Column B with dates and column C with values. I'd like to make another column with the cell value averages based on the date. In essence, calculating daily averages. In turn I will later be adapting it to go through the all sheets in all workbooks.
Is it possible with 1 formula and avoid to create 300+ individual formulas.
The background info: each day we check the prices of bananas, sometimes we check 2, 3 or 4 times in the same day, and sometimes the price that is checked is the same, but most of the time the price is diferent throughout the day.
We need to know the average dayly price for a particular day, while taking in consideration that some days we have 3 diff prices, and some others we only have 2 or even just 1 price that was checked and thats the price for that day.
we have the following spreadsheet
Column A = Dates Dates when a price was checked, note here that there might be days of the year when in a single day the price is checked 2 or 3 times, and sometimes the price is different on the same day.
Column B = Price The price checked on the date indicated in column A
Column C = Daily Avg Price Date is just a date range from 08/1/11 to 07/31/12, a single day on each cell, that is intended to be the day reference for column D. C1 = 8/1/11, C2 = 8/2/11, C3= 8/3/11 and so on until 7/31/12
Column D = Daily Avg Price In this column we need to show the average daily price calculated from the prices and dates in columns A and B.
For example: when C1 equals 8/1/11, then D1 has to equal the average price for the product, taking in consideration the amount of prices annotated for that day in column A, with the prices of Column B for that day and providing the average price.
I could have had an easy =Average formula but, since sometimes we have 3 or 2 or 4 equal or different prices in one single day in column A, I dont have a constant for the data range for excel to calculate an average.
My only current solution is to go on each cell on column D and writing the average formula selecting the range that would apply for that average price. But that is taking so much time, and i have multiple other products and year ranges and markets that require this same answer.
I have the formula for calculating a 13 week rolling average, but I need to be able to set goals in the future and still have the average calculate from current and not from future.
I have my dates set up in row 3 (these dates are all mondays, not every day) and my data in row 4. I need the 13 week rolling average to calculate starting from the prior monday and going back 12 more mondays for the 13 weeks. IE: This monday I'm running reports that the info will be entered into the previous week's monday.
Here is the formula that I'm currently using: =AVERAGE(OFFSET(K4,,COUNT(K4:BV4)-13,,13)) The formula works but will calculate the average for 13 weeks prior based on the last cell with data in it. It's calculating the average of the last 13 weeks of next year.
how to make this work without having to remember my weekly goals every week??
For those of you that love difficult ones, here's one..
I have a sheet that has a column of names.. Across the top row I have dates.. let's say from the 1st through the 31st.... in the body of the report i have different sales numbers and what I am trying to is the following...
So let's say in this instance, mind you my real report is about 342 rows of names and stats.. Is look for Johnny between 1/3 and 1/4 and average those numbers between those 2 dates...
I've tried everything from sumproduct to vlookups and can't seem to get it right...
I am trying to come up with a formula that will return a total average from two columns of dates with criteria. The range will need to cover an entire column as my data is continuously growing and the criteria would have to limit the start date to each month. I have tried
The data: There are a number of columns, but we'll use the first 2 first. Column A has the dates from 1/1/2009 to 12/31/2009. Column B will has numbers, mainly 0-100. One cell will have a 'report date' which is just a date.
The formula needed: I have a few cells labeled wk1, wk2, wk3. Week 1 will start with the 'report' date. wk1 I would like the Average of Column B IF the dates in Column A are within the 'wk'. wk1 = report date TO report date + 6. wk2 = report date + 7 TO report date + 13 and so on.
My goal is to have the formulas all set so that when we move to another report date and the raw data is added, I can just change the 'report date' and everything (the wk numbers) will automatically update with the new raw data.
The furthest I got was this, but it didn't work. =AVERAGE(IF('A3:A33>=VALUE(D3)
I collect unique prices each day. I am trying to find a way to determine the average of the numbers collected from the 21st of the previous month to the 20th of the current month. This formula will need to calculate for multiple months and years. So for example, I need Feb2008 average-which would be the average of numbers found between Jan21-Feb20, I then need Mar 08 average which would be data from Feb21-Mar20 etc. My spreadsheet is setup with the first column having the dates (ex. 01/01/08, 01/02/08 etc) and the second column containing the value for that particular date ($2.85, $3.00 etc).
As the number of days between the 21st and 20th change each month, I just can't seem to find a way to do it without a whole lot of manual effort.
I would like to be able to input the Day and date in coloumn A and have the rest change accordingly
I wish to have it displayed as follows Monday 03/03/2014 followed by coloumn 2....Tuesday 04/03/2014.
There are 4 cells for each day set that have been "Merged and Centred". (B2,C2,D2,E2) display "Monday 03/03/2014" , F2 is a split , (G2,H2,I2,J2) display "Tuesday 04/03/2014" and so on.
I can make the dates change according to the first input but since i must also display the day as well.
I want a bit of code so that when I insert data into column 'C', it inserts today's date into column 'H' - in the same row. (So when I insert data into C22, the code inserts the date in H22). I want to do it with VBA code rather than an in cell function.
Is there a way to have a sheet automatically sort itself by date? I keep selecting cells and sorting manually but it get tedious doing it over and over every time I enter something new. Like if I had dates in row G every time I added something new it would automatically sort all rows by date.
The link above describe a VBA code for pop-up calender. I wondering is it possible to have the pop-up calender automatically display by just clicking on a cell in column A instead of pressing Ctrl C. The dates will be only in column A
I would like to make a list of vehicles with auto servicing dates appearing in the next column. How can I do this, example would be say 30/11/2008 was the last service, next column would be next service due 30/02/ 2009 and then a column next to that to say when service was done.
Pretty simple but I can't seem to get it to auto bring up the next service date which would be in 3 months time or 90 days.
