Import HTML Table Into Excel?
May 13, 2009I am familiar with VBA, but this one has me stumped! Basically, I want to have Excel fill out an Aspx form, submit it, and then pull in the data from the html table that the form produces. There are multiple queries it would have to do, so I would want it to loop through until it is done with my list of inputs. I don't even know where to start...
The website I need to pull data from is: [URL]
On the form, there are multiple fields, but the one I am interested in is the "Study Area Code." An example input I would have in this field is "529910." I would have a different sheet in my workbook with all the SACs I need to pull.
My vision for the end result is to have all the data pulled into one sheet.
Import Two Lines From HTML Files
Jan 20, 2012So I have a few thousand .html-files that i need two lines from. It is line 43 and line 46. I want those lines in each cell and the dokument name in the last cell. After that it goes 1 row down and takes the next html-file.
So it would be something like:

I'm looking for some code that i can attach to a command bar which allows the user to browse and search for any text file on their C:Drive and then import it. I think i can work out the import using the data import wizard and macro recorder.

The original person said they can work out the import using the wizard, but my users are not tech savvy and therefore I was wondering if I could automate the text file showing up in the excel sheet ( named 'Import') after selecting the text file (instead of going to the wizard). Import HTML Table To Excel Without Line Breaks?
Jan 31, 2012I have an html table (3 columns) that has a decent amount of formatting in each column. It uses the <P> attribute for seperating content blocks in each cell along with Lists (LI's) and OL's. It breaks the content on each <P> and <LI> attribute and places each item on a seperate line. I want the content to all be in one cell. I've heard about using a css style to make it stay in the same cell, but it doesn't seem to do anything at all. I've tried:

Aug 29, 2013I've a xls file ready to upload to the my server through phpmyadmin and im using csv with load -date to upload it.
But my biggest problem here is how to input html tags in a excel cell, because when uploading it every word is combined without < p > or < br >.
There is on the internet an option to convert word text to html, and when i copy and paste from each cel to the online converter, I get then the < p > and < br > codes.
But I have a lot of cells in Excel.

I noticed that the tables appear to be created using Java. How do I import the table. If I select and copy/paste it works -- but I have 100s of these and I would prefer to figure it out and then program it.

Automate Import Of Multiple Text Files
May 29, 2008I am new to VBA coding. My boss recently handing me a task where I have to take data which is stored in thousands of fwd files and import it into spread sheets. This can be read with notepad as plain text. This data has about 35 lines of heading info i need to skip. The data i need transfered is stored in columns and each data row is tagged at the beginning with the letter D and comment lines begin with the letter C. The heading info has no such tags.The data is space delimited. Further, some of the columns of data need to be omitted in the spreadsheet. Each data.fwd file gets its own spreadsheet meaning each time i import data i start with a fresh template.xls to import into. The format of the spreadsheet is the same as the format the data is presented in the text file with ten columns, except the text has twelve and two of them need to be omitted.
One more thing, I need to be able to push a button and query the file to import.
Automate Gantt Chart Creation
Nov 7, 2006I am trying to find a way to automate this crude gant chart. What I am trying to do is the following:
1: By entering a start date and due date, and by adding a percentage to 4 different goals, create a sort of gant chart for each job.
2: Have this chart update as the start and due dates change.
3: Be able to past other gant charts below this one, based on the leader assigned to each job. ie. if Dave is a leader, create a worksheet that will have all of dave's Gant charts in one workbook, on one worksheet, pasted each one below the next. The goal being we can give each leader 1 sheet that has all their jobs.
Automate New Series For Bubble Chart

then march sequentially from row to row, adding specific cells within each as a new series in the chart until I run out of rows. Below is my latest attempt (not working of course).

Automate Chart Source Update
Aug 30, 2007I'm trying to change the source data for a worksheet for a series of charts. The source data appears in a series of tables. There are about 30 such tables and associated charts on the worksheet. (I need to duplicate this many times over, which is why I need to automate.). The chart names seem to increment by 2 (i.e. Chart 1, Chart 3, Chart 5) And the source data for the charts increment by 9: BM95:BP102, BM104:BP111, etc. How can I automate this? Also, I'm trying to automate changing the reference in the title of the chart. This reference increments rows by 9. When I use the macro recorder to do this, I get the following

Copy And Paste Text And A Chart Into HTML Email Body

Import Multiple Text Files & Copy Each Import
Jan 29, 2008I'm attempting to import around 200 (and growing!) separate text files into Excel. I am using the formula below to import the text file and then using a separate macro to select the information I need, copy it into another spreadsheet, and then run the import macro again.
However, I have a problem in that my import macro gives me 'Run-time error '1004:
Application defined or user defined error''. At first this wasn't a problem as the information is pasted into the spreadsheet despite the error anyway. However, now that I am looping the macro it is obviously causing more problems as it prevents the loop. I would really appreciate it if anyone knows of a work-around or can spot an error in the coding to resolve this!

In excel 2003 I was able to paste html into excel for easy editing. In excel 2007, when I paste the html I see auto-formatted web page objects. How can I disable this and get just straight text?
I tried formatting the cells to be plain text and then pasting.

Jan 16, 2009How can I using VBA do HTML scraping? A site which I have to use to update some data on a spreadsheet does not offer any web services. I have to copy data from the spreadsheet one cell at a time, paste into the search field and look at the results and decide what kind of modification is needed for that piece of data.
If VBA can do HTML scraping here is what I thought I could do. For each of the data in the cell, I need to go to a search field on a website, manually enter the values and hit search. Then the browser generates a url like "http://www.mysite.com/search?hl=en&q=SNX018923" and returns the result as an HTML page. How can I use vba so that I can automate this process of generating the url and load the returned html text into a variable. Then I can use the script to search for a pattern of text and do something to the active cell from where the data was taken. *nix has a curl command. What is the equivalent of curl in VBA? How do I use it to get the result I am trying to acheive?

What I would like to do is make it pull the .HTMLBody from a cell value instead of inbeded in the code so users can change, just like to I have it below for who I am sending it to. The issue is if I do it the same way I loose my signature and the font, size and color I have below. How can I do this.

VBA HTML Not Running On All Computers?
Jul 23, 2014So I have this code I'm working on for my deptarment that goes to a website inputs data , clicks run and downloads the csv file to the worksheet. It works just fine on my PC and on my profile on the computers the other department uses. We are both using same versions of windows, excel , and IE. When i have someone from the other department run the macro it opens the website but never enters the data into the fields despite the site being the exact same coding as when i'm logged in.

When this code is ran by a member of the other department it just opens the website inputs nothing and doesn't press the RUN button on the website.
What setting or anything. I verified that both PC's VBA references in are there and no "Locations are missing paths" .

Nov 6, 2009I have a couple spreadsheets which update using a RTD link. I then use Macros to sort it and publish a html file every 30 seconds.
I found the html macro thanks to : http://www.meadinkent.co.uk/xlhtmltable.htm
The problem is that whenever I run two sheets together, the macro that creates the html file at times gets the data off the wrong worksheet. Sometimes I only see one sheet's data being used, sometimes the other.
Both html files when published have some feature from one macro and some from the other macro. Like macro one sheet says use 1528 rows and the title for page is Relative Strength Over 750K. Other macro says use 979 rows and title for page is Relative Strength Under 750K. I would have both the sheets as like 1528 rows for with title Relative Strength Under 750K.
If I run one sheet at a time, everything works fine.
