Complex Conditional Formatting: Colored The The Max And Lower Value For Every Row

Apr 20, 2006

I have a sheet going like this:

CODIGOALBERTMARIODOUGLASEDYCARLOSJOHN
2818182768280
3858787818684
7828186768481
9877889928789
12828282788380
...

I need to colored the the max and lower value for every row (green for low and red for high) i did it well for first row with conditional formatting but i cant copy for the anothers ones and i dont want to do it row by row (i am so lazy). I did this for first Value and the copy format for the following values in row:

Formula Is =IF(ISBLANK(B5),FALSE,MIN($B$5:$G$5)=B5) (green color)
Formula Is =IF(ISBLANK(B5),FALSE,MAX($B$5:$G$5)=B5) (red color)

The reference must be Absolute cause another way results become wrong for another values, but thats the problem cause i cant use it in below rows.

Conditional Formatting If Lower Than Cell By 1 Or More?

Oct 7, 2013

I want to have some cells with conditional formatting.

The case here is date.

I have a given range of cells which will take on date. I will select all of these and will creat conditional formatting so that if the date is less than 2 days or more, have font colour change to red.

Now, the current date will be refered on a single cell.

I have done =($C$3-2) and it works but this does not account for anything older than 2 days.

What am I missing here? How do I do or less then?

Finding Cells Colored By Conditional Formatting

Jan 20, 2010

This works if a cell is simply formatted "red" but it does not work if the same cell is colored "red" by virture of conditional formatting. How do I find cells that have been set to color "red" by conditional formatting

This prevents saving the workbook without entering all the data.
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
Dim Row As Integer
Dim Col As Integer
For Row = 1 To 450
For Col = 1 To 50
If Worksheets("Sheet1").Cells(Row, Col).Interior.Color = RGB(255, 0, 0) Then
MsgBox "Every cell must have data."
Cancel = True
End If
Next Col
Next Row
End Sub

Excel 2007 :: Count Cells Colored By Conditional Formatting

Oct 30, 2012

I am applying conditional formatting on a range of cells. I have 2 conditions to color cells in different colors. Once I enter data, cells get colored corectly according to conditions. What I want is to count how many cells are colored by conditional formatting.

I tried using VBA --- Evaluate formula for each cell and count if TRUE.

I observed, for Excel 2007, as the condition is applied on the range, I expect the formula to be changed dynamically for each cell with appropriate addresses, like for A1, if am referring to cell C1, for A2 it should automatically refer to C2.

And excel takes care of this cells are colored correctly,however, when I try to check the 'FormatCondition' in VBA, I get only one formula for entire range. SO I can not use evaluate to find if the condition is satisfied or not ?

Complex Text Formula Formatting

Sep 8, 2008

I am trying to generate a formula for formatting text that will remove all spaces, comma's etc. Examples as follows:

The Bank Job -> the _bank_job_small.gif
Picture This! -> picture_this_small.gif
War Games: The Dead Code -> war_games_the_dead_code_small.gif
Chacun son combat (Never Back Down) -> chacun_son_combat_small.gif

I've figured out a formula that works but it seems overly complex - it uses multiple SUBSTITUTE, SEARCH and REPLACE functions. Is there an easy way to remove a range of symbols i.e. ! : ( ' ?

So essentially (if acct # from column x in wks 1= an acct in number in

IF Statement Using Formatting Criteria (NOT Conditional Formatting)

May 5, 2009

Is there "code" for different formatting in a spreadsheet so you can use an IF statement to do something like:

if(A1=blue background,"Yes","No")

or

if(A1=red text,"Yes","No")

etc.?? But replace "blue background" and "red text" with some sort of number code? I want to compile a list of the items that are formatted with certain background colors and/or text colors and then organize only those items into a chart.

Only Allow Upper/Lower Case Not All Upper Or All Lower

Oct 8, 2008

Is there a data validation that will not allow all upper case or all lower case characters?

For examples:

Allow:
John Doe
101A N Woodbine Street

Disallow:
JOHN DOE
101A N WOODBINE STREET

Disallow:
john doe
101a n woodbine street

Or perhaps formatting that would convert the words to upper/lower case?

Or, I would be interested in VBA if it is the only way.

If Then Or Conditional Formatting??

Mar 5, 2009

I have a hard time when it comes to "If then" statements and conditional formatting. I have some data that I am collecting and entering into a spreadsheet for a couple different companies. Once I receive paperwork from those companies for the data collected I mark the data with a blue colored text. I would like to have a second sheet that generates what companies have not sent me their paperwork. "If the data is black text, then generate <name of company> on second sheet." The list is small right now, but as the project continues it will grow very large and it will become difficult to track. I will attach a copy of the spreadsheet for you to see the situation. I would like to learn how to do these types of formulas, is there a tutorial geared towards these types of situations?

Conditional Formatting More Than Once

I have two spreadsheet "book1" with data in it, "book2" that takes all the information from "book1" the cells are linked in "book2" from "book1" so when someone updates "book1" the information is viewable in "book2"

In "book2" where I am getting stuck is as follows,

Column A contains data "break time" that is formatted in HH:MM:SS column B contains a "total duration" in HH:MM:SS. what I need to do is if column A data is = to or more than 4% of column B then I want to turn the cell in column A "red" if it is less then turn it "green". I have tried conditional formatting and it appears to work the once only, I dont no if this is because its 2003 and not 2007??

What I need is to repeat the conditional format over and over again forever is there any code for this I can use?

Conditional Formatting Through VBA

Jun 30, 2008

Sub Macro1()
With Range("A1")
.FormatConditions.Delete
.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:="=A1=B1"
.FormatConditions(1).Interior.ColorIndex = 3
.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:="=A1B1"
.FormatConditions(2).Interior.ColorIndex = 50
.AutoFill Destination:=Range("A1:A29"), Type:=xlFillDefault
End With
End Sub

If my active cell is NOT A1, the formula entered into conditional formatting is off. The range references get all messed up. For example, if my active cell is Say D5

Condition 1 is
=IT65533=IU65533
Condition 2 is
=IT65533IU65533

But if I run the code with A1 as my active cell, it gets entered correctly as
Condition 1
=A1=B1
Condition 2
=A1B1

Set Conditional Formatting Via VBA

For Each c In r
If c.Value = "CON" Then
c.EntireRow.FormatConditions.Delete
c.EntireRow.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:=c.Address = "OK"
c.EntireRow.FormatConditions(1).Interior.ColorIndex = 35

next c
the "CON" is a formula and can later take the value "OK".

The conditional formatting should highlight the whole row as green when that happens.
