Conditional And Cumulative Subtraction That Starts Over Again When The Value In A Column Changes
Feb 5, 2010
I am attempting to perform a cumulative subtraction function that starts over again when the value in a column changes. I have a list that is sorted by a column for item number. The other two columns show the amount we have in stock and the amount being ordered against that stock. The order of rows IS relevant and cannot be changed.
Sample output is attached, with the "given" data outlined in a bold border. The only way I have figured out to do this is to nest a whole lot of IF statements in a formula, which is not very elegant or easy to do, and is limited by the number of IF statements that can be nested.
to calculate training shifts spent in my training centre. We have 2 sets of occupational groups, those of underground & those of surface. I need to subtract 1 shift from the formula but only for the underground guys.
Column A has numbers starting with 1, 2, or 3 and Columns B & C have various amounts. I would like to get totals or columns B & C for Column A numbers starting with 1.
Tried a few things including SUMIF(A:A,"1*",B:C) with no luck
Column A - Dates Column B - Equipment Type Column C - Load Start Time Column D - Load End Time
I need to do some statistical analysis (average, mode, medium, st dev) on the load times, which is load start time - load end time. As far as I know, I can't subtract ranges (column d i column c) within Averageifs function. I assume I would need to use an array function for this.
I am trying to auto populate into a column that starts in cell E5 and references cell C5 (along with a dataset in N and O). In cell E6, I copied and pasted this formula and changed all of the C5 values to C6. When trying to use the auto populate cross hair tool, excel changes all N and O cells, from O165 to O166, O167 when they should have remained O165 and N165 for every cell.
I have this macro for a button that needs to start populating a column with Xs. I want to populate cell F2 with data from a different sheet with Xs.
ub Create_button_macro() Dim sButton
Set sButton = ActiveSheet.Buttons.Add(156.75, 36.75, 73.5, 22.5) With sButton .Characters.Text = "Program 1" With .Font .Name = "Arial" End With .OnAction = "Button1_Click" End With
I'm using the following code to delete rows that I don't want to include and I've ran into some more things that need to be deleted...
For lLoop = RngCol.Rows.Count To 2 Step -1 Select Case RngCol(lLoop, 1) Case " Date:", "Skill:", "Agent Name", "~*", "*Train*" RngCol(lLoop, 1).EntireRow.Delete End Select Next lLoop
An example of "~*" would be: ***SICARII*** An example of "*Train*" would be: Ozgrid Train1
It's not recognizing these new cases. Do I have to utilize FIND? (since CTRL+F does work with the given cases)
I have a model built that calculates the daily Profit and loss ('Data for Pivot' tab, column M). I would like to calculate the cumulative profit and loss and am having a difficult time doing this with a simple formula. The Daily P/L column is empty (#NA value is in the cells) up until cell C138 as there is no data before that (which is the way it is supposed to be). However, once data has begun to be populated the daily profit and loss is shown (in this case from M138 onwards). The issue I am having is that I cannot seem to be able to create a formula that will capture the cumulative P/L. My desired result is evident in cells N179 onwards, as it simply captures the cumulative p/l. However, this only works if I change the formula once data is populated (in this case cell N177 is where i put in a new formula; the previous formula can be seen in cells N3-N176). If I attempt to put in the formula that is in cell N177 for all of the cells in column N, it gives me an error. Thus, I think that this may need to be programmed via VBA, but I have not been successful in doing this. The issue is that the data population in this model begins on different cells based on the different inputs that I put in ('Mov_Avg_Chart' tab, cells c6 and c8). Thus, I can't hard-code a formula based on a particular cell. If anyone can help me with this,
I am trying to get the contagious cumulative sum of various data ranges in the same column in my workbook. Data ranges are dynamic so i can not use formulas. I have prepared a table below for illustration. I need the VBA code to calculate the cumulative amounts in column C highlighted in Bold.
There is always a blank row after the cumulative amount. There is also always a text (as in column A of this example) in the same row as where the cumulative is summed up, maybe it can be useful for the code.
I would have written some code but for the algorithm to be used in this case. Maybe a nested for loop, not sure.
i am trying to create a spreadsheet that will automatically plan a days work in manufacturing based on the items the factory is making, the different items obviously have different hourly production targets and id lke to create a spread sheet that knows how many we want to create what the targets are and how long it will take. i also want it to be able to know when it has reached the needed total and automatically plot the targets for the next product, so what i need is a way to change part of the formula when the column reaches a set culmative total
For m = 2 To 5 For n = 1 To 23 For b = 2 To 100 Sheets("Hierarchy").Select Cells(m, n).Select Selection.Copy Sheets("HierN_H2V").Select Cells(b, 1).Select
I have data that when added together will have decimals of .1 or .2. Any decimal great than .2 becomes an integre of 1 and is added to the other integres. for example: 1.1, 2.0, 3.2, 5.1=12.1.
I now want to subtract this total from another amount that will give me values with decimals of .1 or .2, example: 59-12.1=46.2 not 46.8. The same if 62-8.1=53.2.
with this code, how can I make my combobox1 starts with the last record ??
Code:
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()Dim cell As RangeWith Worksheets("Sheet1")For Each cell In .Range("C2:C" & .Cells(Rows.Count, 3).End(xlUp).Row)If Not IsEmpty(cell) Then ComboBox1.AddItem cell.ValueNext cellEnd With
What is the formula for taking two times, and finding the minutes between them. E.g. 12:35 PM-12:28 PM=7. I know i can use (A1-A2)*1440, but is there an easier way?
cell A1 contains the numeric value: 3961.3 cell A2 contains the follwing: ="z equals "&B3-3933.7
which i would expect to give me: "z equals 27.6"
BUT, it gives me: "z equals 27.600000004"
which is awefully strange becos the 4 comes form nowhere...
what makes some sort of sense is that if the value in A1 is changed to 3961.4 or 3961.5, then the final decimal 4 in A2 changes into a 3, and then a 2.
when the value in A1 is changed to xxxx.7 the number in cell A2 becomes what one would expect it to be.
how do i get rid of these strange decimals???
(formatting cells, setting number of significant figures does not work. i naturally already tried that)
I have Time Data in one column, and Values in the next, and then a blank column (for calculations, like subtraction/time).
Is there any way to automate the =Cell2-Cell1 command for regions of blue cells and have it paste the value in the blank column lined up with the first blue cell of the region?
The attachment will make more sense, but this is what I'm talking about:
Before subtraction macro:
BlueTime1 Value Blank BlueTime4 Value Blank BlueTime2 Value Blank BlueTime5 Value Blank BlueTime3 Value Blank BlueTime6 Value Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank BlueTime7 Value Blank BlueTime10 Value Blank BlueTime8 Value Blank BlueTime11 Value Blank BlueTime9 Value Blank BlueTime12 Value Blank
After subtraction macro:
BlueTime1 Value BlueTime3-BT1 BlueTime4 Value BlueTime6-BT4 BlueTime2 Value Blank BlueTime5 Value Blank BlueTime3 Value Blank BlueTime6 Value Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank Blank BlueTime7 Value BlueTime9-BT7 BlueTime10 Value BlueTime12-BT10 BlueTime8 Value Blank BlueTime11 Value Blank BlueTime9 Value Blank BlueTime12 Value Blank
I would like to have a question box pop up w/Yes and No Buttons at the start of my macro to choose between two different sub routines. Therefore, MsgBox would say: Import New Yard Inventory?
If Yes, then it would run the alternate subroutine. If No, Then it would run macros normal routine. Not quite sure how to do this. Would the msg box have to be a form box where, a representive value would have to get filled into a cell? Then reference if cell value is true ,then or would it register the value to memory so then, the code would have to to call the given value then run code if value it true?
I have data that I am trying to sort that starts with a number and contains a number within, then sometimes ends with a letter. Here is the dataset I will use as example.
Is there a formula that I can use to sort the data in numerical order by the last digits exactly like the first dataset? There are all sorts of veriations of the first digits and the last, but the "-TP-" always remains constant.
