I saw the =WEEKNUM function introduced to Dave196. I tried it but I do not get the desired result. I get "# NAME?" What can I be doing wrong? Also, how can I have Excel take a date and convert it to a number? I want to convert a date into an invoice number (eg. 4/5/07 ===> 20070405)
Convert Number String To Date
I am trying to convert a number string date that has been stored in a database to a readable date time in an excel pivot table.
1260983366 needs to look like Wednesday, December 16, 2009, 10:09 AM.
The converted date could also look like Wed, Dec 16, 09, 10:09 AM.
Convert Fiscal Date To Corresponding Week Number
I have a spreadsheet that I use to convert a purchase order ship date from the actual date to the corresponding week it falls out on. The fiscal year always starts on February 1 regardless of the day of the week. The problem i am encountering is when the year changes. As soon as I enter 01/01/2010, the response I get is -4, where as 12/31/2009 is 48.
I am using the following formula that I found somewhere, where R2 = 02/01/2009 (02/01/2009 falls out on a Sunday). =INT((R2-DATE(YEAR(R2),2,1)-WEEKDAY(R2,1))/7)+2. I need to make the formula "not care about" the day of the week.
Date Chart Not Reporting Real Dates
see attached image. Chart is recognizing the 20 dates but not using the real dates listed in the column. Changed settings multiple ways to try to get it to use the actuals - no luck. I realize 'month's is checked in the image - but I tried 'days' and still no luck. What needs to be changed to make it report actuals listed in the 2 columns?
Convert Coded Date Into Common Format Date
I'm in the military and for maintenance we use the Julian date the format goes as follows "09357" that is simplified as 09 = the year and 357= the three hundred and fifty seventh day of the year. so 09357= 12,23,2009..
so on to my question:
how can i make excel auto convert the julian date to the regular date and vice versa?
Convert A Text Date Into A Proper Date
I have a column of dates in thie format " January 5 03:09:36 2009" which i need to convert into a proper excel date that i can do further calculations on (adding up things, graphs etc based on dates).
Note the space before the month name. I thought about doing a left(cell,xx) to get it but that isnt going to work with the space infront and the variable length of month names.
I do not necessarily need the time included, it may be useful at some point if its easy to keep it as part of the data, if not i can live without it.
Convert Date As Text To Actual Date
I've been sent a spreadsheet in which one column represents dates, but they have been entered as plain text, MM/DD/YYYY (ie 12/31/2008). I ultimately need to import this as a CSV into a program that only understands dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY.
I'd ideally like excel to recognise this field as containing dates, but I can't figure out how to do that, or even how to swap the days and months around as text. I'm using 2007.
Date Countdown: Results Of The Number Of Days Between Today And A Future Date
I am trying to get the results of the number of days between today and a future date. I am using ="cell containing futuredate"-today() and it gets me the correct number of days. The problem comes in when I have yet to populate the future dates. I am getting -39991 (numeric value between today and jan 01 01) and because I am also using conditional formatting this is even more of a problem. Is there a way get excel to display nothing if it is a negative number? or to give a specified resut if the number becomes negative such as Expired or something of that nature?
Number Of Days To Add To Date Based On Weekday Of Date

Formula Date Result Showing Number Not Date
I’m trying to resolve this issue and would appreciate some help.
I have a tracking sheet that tracks development of work to be completed by individuals.
I have a due date column that shows when the work should be completed.
Once the work has been completed, the user enters his completion date.
I have a formula that provides an overdue warning (Completion date – today’s date) and some conditional formatting.
When I copy the formula through all the cells in the column I get a number (example 39504) and this changes everyday.
How can I eliminate this being shown as it throws out my average development day calculation?
Week Number For Date Relative To Date Range
Is there a UDF that can determine the number of weeks for a date range specific that is not relative to the week number for the year but for the date range itself. i am aware of the weeknum function but this is for week number relative to the year. eg. date range 01/03/2008 - 31/05/2008 has approx 12 weeks and 14/05/2008 will be week number 10 for the range.

Convert The Date Format

I cannot get the dates to change format at all so I was hoping someone might have some ideas why. I have tried everything I can think of. The only thing that has worked so far has been to retype the date in the cells. I have 32000 rows of data I have to convert.
Convert A Date To A Label
I am trying to convert a date to a label. The following is what I am trying to do:

Convert Date Format
I have imported date field values from ClearQuest(IBM Product) into Excel worksheet. after import the data display format in the excel looks like
Thursday, February 19, 2009 9:11:42 AM
Now I need to calculate the age of the defect in number of days by using the formula
=NOW()-J26 where the cell J26 contains the above data . However I always get the display as #VALUE in the cell.
I changed the field format for cell J26 to custom dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy h:mm:ss AM/PM but still does not work.
My question now is- how do I convert dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy h:mm:ss AM/PM to mm/dd/yyyy h:mm:ss AM/PM so that I would be able to find the age of the defects?
Or is the a way to change the format for NOW() to something dddd, mmmm dd, yyyy h:mm:ss AM/PM?
Convert Date To Day
I have a lon list of dates in the format dd/mm/yyyy. I can change the format to DDD to show the day of the week. What I want to do though is make that permanent, not just in the format.
Convert Date To Week
I have a date which is recorded in the mm/dd/yyyy format, and in the adjacent column I would like to determine which week in the month this date is, from 1 to 4. So for example if the date was 07/02/2009, the week would be 1. For simplicity's sake I figued I would just have days 1-7 as week1, 8-14 as week 2, 15 - 21 as week three, and 22 on up as week 4. If there is a more accurate way of doing this, say that would be able to sart counting from the first full week of the month, then I would be very interested, but that seems unreasonable.
Convert Text To Date
in columns I and J i have text which reads as for example 20090619. I need to convert this to a date format as in dd/mm/yyyy. A lil macro would help loads. i also have some other spreadsheets that have the date as 16 jun 2009 and i have to basically go into the cell and then hit enter for it to become formatted like the dd/mm/yyyy.
Date Range: Reference A Single Date And Output Date Ranges
I need to create formulas that reference a single date and output date ranges. The objective is to have a person input a Monday date in any given month and receive a four weeks out worth of dates and ranges. For example: In a lone cell, the person inputs 10/13/08. Automatically, the sheet produces the next full week range: October 19 – October 25 in a single cell and also produces a cell for each date. Example: Sunday 19, Monday 20, Tuesday 21, etc…. It should look like:
October 19 – October 25
and then repeat for three more weeks. I thought I had it figured out until the month changed. The dates continued in October instead of adding a month. This report will be ran weekly, so simply adding a +1MONTH to some cells will not benefit me as I’ll have to change the formula every week. I want the formula to compute the data without any manipulation over the next several years. The only change will be the Monday date.
Programattically Convert Date To Month
I have a column of dates that I would like to convert to just their Month names so 1/1/2009 would be "January". I am going to use this column in a pivot table as a filter so I need to actually replace the date with the month name. I would do it manually, but there are close to 32000 rows and every month it will grow even more. Is this possible with a macro? I attached a sheet with some sample data.
Convert Date Seperated With Dot
I have two ways to export Forex data to Excel for analysis by another trading program. This exported data appears either as mm/dd/yyyy (in which case the cell alignment is inconsistent for some reason) or yyyy.mm.dd and I need to convert it to either yyyymmdd or dd/mm/yy.
I have tried the Data>Text to Columns Wizard without success and I have read through various other threads here, but they seem to all want to convert "in the other direction" !
Convert Date Format To Text
I am trying to make a very simple macro but get stuck in de Excel date format. When using the date "=TODAY()" in one cel it is no problem but I want to integrate it in the CONCATENATE function.
I want to create this text "(WG 01-01-2006)" but then with the actual date of that day of course, which can be inserted in de active cell.
Whatever I do, copy, pastespecial, reed text with RIGHT, change format on an temporary cell etc. Excel keeps returning the number in Excel date format counting from 01-01-1900. Nice for calculating but I want the date text!
