I am trying to convert a number string date that has been stored in a database to a readable date time in an excel pivot table.
1260983366 needs to look like Wednesday, December 16, 2009, 10:09 AM.
The converted date could also look like Wed, Dec 16, 09, 10:09 AM.
The following function reads many worksheets in one workbook and put the information into one worksheet. F22 to Q22 is dates in the format of mmm-yy on the many worksheets. On the one worksheet B1, C1, D1, etc... is dates also formatted mmm-yy. Now the many sheets only have a 12 month period but could be any date within 60 months. In the many worksheets the beginning date in F22 is based on the date that is entered into G8 of the many worksheets. The function is:

I have a spread sheet with a date colume that reads: 2012-06-27-19 I need to have this read like 06/27/2012 but nothing I do is working I have tried to go to the formatting process and backing the hr:mm out and that doesn't work. I really don't want to go line by line to manually correct this issue.. HENCE ... over 2000 lines
Second question: If I have a column that reads 02/15/2012 and another column that reads 3/27/2012 how to a format a 3rd column to make it read total number of days between 1st date and 2nd date?

My database has 6 fields names and I have created the following code to capture and post data to the database form a userform. It works but I am sure there is a more efficient and elegant way to do this. The two areas I would like advice are:
1. converting the date string to a date.
2. the line of code where I subtract line6 from line4.

I have written some VBA to the best of my ability but it seems clumsy using the FORMAT function. Is there a better of doing this with VBA. I can't seem to find a function in VBA which is the equivalent of the formula function DATE.

“L1:N1” above is a sample. Given the code above it I have the cell location in question but it is in the format such as .Cells(12,16). That doesn’t do me much good when range wants something like “L1”. I don’t know how to convert that (12,16) to a L16 for example.

I would like to enter the date by dd/mm/yyyy and have it come out to an alphanumeric number.
The alphanumeric number for example would be C21501
Where "C" is the year starting from 2013. So in this case C would be 2015
Next two digits would be the week of that year. So 21 would be in the month of May
The following number would be the day of that week starting from Monday. So in this case 5 would be Friday.
The last two numbers would be the consecutive number for that day. For example two orders could be placed that same day so the first would be C21501 and the next would be C21502.

I have a spreadsheet that I use to convert a purchase order ship date from the actual date to the corresponding week it falls out on. The fiscal year always starts on February 1 regardless of the day of the week. The problem i am encountering is when the year changes. As soon as I enter 01/01/2010, the response I get is -4, where as 12/31/2009 is 48.

Down loading data I receive dates as a number that indicates YYMMDD (ex. 130603 is 03 JUN 13). Is there an easy way to convert these number strings to the actual date indicated other than typing it in?

I have a list of users with the dates they first logged into a system and the date they last logged in. I'm trying to group them together into segments so I can analyse them using a Pivot table and chart to see how often different groups are using the system, e.g. New customers in December, November, October, etc.

Is there a formula I can use to convert these human readble text strings into a number of weeks elapsed since today's date?
Wondering if it is possible to generate a random 4 digit number based off an alphanumeric string?
Example;
Cell A1 has 123XVF1234
Cell A2 has 321AFW4321
In B1 I would like to have a 4-6 digit number that is generated based on the alphanumeric data in Cell A1 (and so on down the list). If that is possible, I would also need to be able to convert back the 4-6 digit number back to its original alphanumeric value
Example;
If B1 returns 643562 it would need to be able to be converted back to 123XVF1234
In sheet1 I have a simple database consisting of 5 columns of data
Column A : Name ie James Jones
Column B : payroll number ie 123456
Column C : shift times ie 1245-2124
Column D : job title ie floor
Column E : comments ie A/L or 0600-1500
what I would like is some code that will go down Column E and if a 'time string' ie 1300-2130 is found then copy this string and paste into corresponding value in column C. If a text string is found ie A/L or Sick or anything like this then ignore and move onto next cell, loop this until all cells in column E have been checked.
