Remove Comments Showing Up On Mouse-over
Apr 18, 2009In the example added a code is running to show the comments (pictures) when the cell is selected. This way you don't have to mouse-over to show the comment, you just use your arrow keys.. Is there a way to not show comments on mouse-over? I only want them to show while the cell is selected, using the VBA code. Because now you can show 2 comments while a cell is selected, and you put your cursor on another cell.

Apr 18, 2009In the last thread Andy gave me this code to only show the comments when a cell in Column A is selected. It doesn't show them anymore when you put your cursor on a cell. But when 2 excel files are open, including the example, and you close the other one it asks the regular stuff; Do you wan't to save .. etc. It also askes that with the example added, and when you press cancel, the code doesn't work anymore and I have to re-open it. Or if, for some reason, you close the sheet, but still want to edit something, press cancel, the code doesn't work anymore. How can this be changed?

I've freezed the panes so they won't move so you can see the buttons form wherever you are so you can use them. However, I'd like to describe what the buttons do somewhere so it's easy for users to use them...
I was thinking the easiest way to do this would be when you hover over the button it shows text in a a little pop up window...like if you hover over an image sometimes there is text that appears.
Is there VBA code that I can write to make that happen? How would I then tie it to a button? To create the buttons under developer I just did Insert, Form Control, Button...

Jun 25, 2014When I run them from the module they both work, Sub 'Calculator' brings up the Windows calculator and doesn't open a new one each time, Sub 'Calculator1' opens a new one each time.
However, when I call 'Calculator' from my userform it does nothing unless the windows calulator is already running. 'Calculator1' works as normal.

Using Option Button To Display Dynamic Data?
Dec 4, 2012I am currently using 2 options button (radio button) to display different sets of data interactively. 1st option to show data for Male, 2nd option to show data for Female. No problem for both as I am using "choose" =CHOOSE($M$6,J56,J49) formula to display them on row 11th to 17th. But if I were to add in 3rd option called "Both", how do I need to do so? I am expecting the display to go beyond row 18th to show both Male and Female data. There is a chart too that links to these row 11th - 17th currently.

In this workbook I have successfully made it act like a userform calculator, the user does not ever see the actual sheets in the workbook, their only interface is the Userform calculator I created.
This is exactly how I want it, they do not need to see the sheets, nor do I want them to.
This leads me only to my next problem... Some of the users obviously wont have Macros automatically enabled, what I am wondering is, is there a way to put the normal "Enable Macros" button which appears along the top of a macro containing workbook when opened, I want to put this button into a userform like display without showing the workbook at all.
So here the process I envision:
1. User double clicks the file
2. It opens and automatically goes invisable (like it does already)
3. If the user does not have macro enabled, a userform like box appears and says "Please enable Marcros to user" with a button below for "Enable" and "Exit"
4. If exit is pressed excel closes
5. If enabled is pressed Macros are enabled and then they will automatically see my calculator userform like normal.
As you see, at no point do I want them to see excel or a workbook, just userforms so its not like they are using excel at all.
I have searched around the net and found a few ideas to tackle this, mainly one that has a "Prompt" workbook that shows when macros are disabled, but that is not ideal for me. However perhaps I could just edit this "prompt" code thing for my situation?

Apr 22, 2009I have a sample spreadsheet (uploaded to this thread) in which I have 10 command buttons named 'Video 1' to 'Video 10'. Next to these buttons is a Windows Media Player Object.
I require the code that upon clicking any of the video command buttons, the relevant video is opened and shown in the windows media object within the same sheet (sheet1).
I'm sure the code for each button will be the same apart from the cmd button reference number/name and the link to the file to be played.
If we assume all the videos are called as per their buttons i.e. Video 1.wmv, Video 2.wmv ... Video 10.wmv; and the location of these files is under 'C:Films', can someone post up some code for button 'Video 1' making it clear which variables to change for linking to the different files.
