Dropdown List And Bring In Additional Data

I want to use excel to create quotations for customers. (currently doing it in word)
Tab 1 is the quote, has 4 columns, part number, description, cost, yearly maintenance
Tab 2 has all the things we sell, part number, description, cost, yearly maintenance. 150 lines.
So, Tab 1, description column is a drop down box from Tab 2. Working fine.
Question. When an item is selected from the drop down, how do I get it to then bring from tab 2 the part number, cost and yearly maintenance.

I would like to set a data validation list with
- the list of values (A1:A10)
- at the top of the list the value "all"
- as default (when opening workbook or when changing depenend validation list) = "all"

I'm creating a spreadsheet to keep track of my costs of production in an online game. Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.
My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

I am using a spreadsheet as a score sheet for a competition. One of the columns is the student's GPA. After entering all the scores there are duplicate final scores. I need a way to have it look at the final score and then use the GPA so that it will not put a duplicate value in the final column.
al Column N is the Total Column, Column O has the Names that correspond to the Total Column. Currently I am taking this total and putting it into Column Q (High Scores) in high to low order. Column R should have the names that match the scores. But with duplicate scores, it is only putting the first name associated with the score. I would like to use the GPA as a final determining factor for the duplicate scores. The higher GPA would come before a lower GPA. I have tried to put an additional column to bring the GPA over to correspond with the High Scores Column, but could not get it to work.There are actually more names for the competition and the top 10 will be moved to a different sheet and further judged. I have attached a sample with the exact formulas that I am using.

I've managed to create a drop-down list with the following possibilities:
Yes
No
Others
When the option Others is selected, I would like the user to be able to input additional information in a new line with wrap text formt (this new line should be hidden when either Yes or No is selected).

I have a worksheet where data has been entered from a userform. For each entry, there is a separate reference number in the form of contract number-schedule number-machine type-cage number (e.g. 123-123-ABC-1).
The machien type will not always be known so the user will need to do a search for the contract number-schedule number and then bring up all the possible reference numbers.
For example this could look like:
123-123-ABC-1
123-123-ABC-2
123-123-CDE-1
123-123-CDE-2
I would like this list of all possible values to pop up.
what look up function would work and how I can do this?

I have a list on one worksheet and I use a dropdown list from Data Validation to select the name required.
My list is so long that I would like to be able to type a letter or two to access to the name quicker instead of scrolling down.
I copied a formula that worked for someone else that put this formula in the data validation

I do not wish to use VBA is possible.

I am currently stuck with a drop down list problem. I am trying to make a benchmarking solution for a group of 20 stores. All stores sell products uniformly and their sales are displayed in percentages of the cumulative total. Currently there is a benchmarking page where all stores sales per product is displayed, however I would like the ability to select specific stores data from a drop down list. I have pictures displaying the basic concept of what I want to achieve.

On the left a list of products and the quantities sold in percentages per store for benchmarking purposes.
What I would like to achieve relates to the drop down list on sheet 2.

Here store 1 can see its sales in percentages, and has a drop down list to compare to different stores. If store 3 is selected I would like the data to be pulled into that column from the benchmarking sheet and the same goes for the other stores of course.

I have a query with data validation.....
Can I have a cell rage.. say A2:E20...and every cell in it has a drop down data validation list, from data inputted into L2:L27 (For examples lets say L2 is A, L3 is B, L4 is C, L5 is D and so on).
if somewhere in the range A2:E20, say B6 I was to select D from the drop down list, I want the remainder of the cells in range A2:E20, to have the drop down list without the value D in it, and so on, so the more cells in the range I fill from the list, the list for empty cells gets smaller and smaller until there are none left.

I'd like to create a data validation with 1 dropdown list in the second worksheet in B4, relating to 3 cell ranges on the first worksheet (COS, Expenses & Capital). If 3 can't work, I've created 1 called 'dropdown' which incorporates all 3.
which formula I need to write into the validation, or what else I need to do in order to find a solution to this.

i created a drop down list from data validation and it's a list of names. as i select from the list of names, i just want the initials of the names to be shown, not the entire name itself.

I have a very detailed spreadsheet with drop down lists. I would like to block other cells if previous cells have certain selections. I have 7 columns of data that get inputted throughout the month. These cells have drop down selections that I have created. Is there any way to create a drop down menu AND another data validation? So If a selection is made, then the next cells will be blocked, using data validation "custom"?

It is basically a simple sheet that lists the price (Column C) of different items (Column B) based on their Category (Column A).
I am trying to have an automated pricing sheet (on different sheet) utilizing data validation and drop down lists.
For example each row should have this, the drop down list in the first columns should list all the Categories available (This part works fine for me and i can take care of the duplicates).
Once that has been selected, i have now the option of selecting using drop down list also (in second column) the items corresponding to the Category selected in first column (Only the items that are part of that specific category should be listed in the drop down list).
Once the item has been selected, the price of that respective item should be listed automatically in the 3rd column.

The format of the data is identical just different numbers. But are broken out into different projects... I am incredibly new at this and just barely learned how to make a drop down list.

I have giant excel spreadsheet that I am trying to clean up. I want to make one of the columns (with around 3000 rows and may of them are the same) into a drop down list. However, when I try doing so from the data validation tab, I get duplicates, triplicates, etc. of the same item.

Insert a drop down list that is attached to a bunch of data to make it easier to navigate through the data.
Therefore, when you chose one item in the list it will populate data in the worksheet for that item in the list and change for each item in the list.
For example, if you have ten people's names in the list when you pick Nancy it will show you information on her and when you pick Scott it will populate with completely different data. The data all coming from one master tab.

I have a workbook with two spreadsheets, one blank and one with a Header row and a list of employee names and random dates that will continue to be added to at the bottom per a copy and paste.
What I need is to have a form dropdown on the blank sheet (per a cell reference) that shows employee names and dates that has that name next to it in the data sheet.
The employee names are in three columns Last, First, and Middle and the dates are in a separate column (A).
I guess I need a VLOOKUP that can take the range and pull into the dropdown the employee name and every date associated with that name.

I am in the process of creating a database, and have used 'Data Validation' to create drop down lists in order to obtain information quickly from the database.
I have encountered an issue where if I have a list the resembles the one shown below, the drop down list will show spaces.
This is particularly an issue for myself and my database because there is over 1,000 items in the list, and there are countless empty cells within the list. I have tried sorting the list, BUT because the database is quite large, sorting it will disrupt other functions of the database.
Ideally, I would like the drop down list to show only entries within the list that are not empty so the drop down list is entirely relevant, and more user friendly.

I have a grade book with 17 worksheets 1 for each subject = each of the sheets are identical with the students names in col B and the data is entered manually in the corresponding cols along side the names.
What I would like is a vba solution to enter the data in a worksheet called 'datainput' = which would be identical in layout as the above subject sheets= and by the use of a drop down list with the names of the 17 subject sheets = copy the data in the 'datatinput' worksheet into the next available blank col in the worksheet selected from the drop down list=and with a command button erase the data in the 'datainput' worksheet ready to enter new data.

When it huge list of data for drop down list, it is too much time consume. If i type a letter, it will show all those quarry or data which start with that letter. It need not to scrolling huge list.Scrolling is barrier for use of data validation for me . I tried all dependable data validation.

I have a data validation in a cell that works like this : if a control cell has the value "F" it validates the input with some dates in a custom list, if not it does nothing.
The formula looks like this :
=IF(F2="F",datelist,"")
It works fine but I also want it to display the drop down list when cell F2 = F, now all i can do is type a value and it checks if it's ok.
Can I do this without using vba ? I will send this to other persons and I don't want the macro warning to pop up when they open it.

i am working on a long drop-down list which consists of a series of numbers, such as 1,2,3.... When users select 2 from the drop down list, the cell value will be automatically converted to the value "movie" that "2" is corresponding to.
The list behind the drop-down list is like this:

I have an (organization) work book that contains departments in different tab with each department having its own tab. In each tab is the employee name, dept manager, dept number and emp number. In the CoverSheet (main sheet) I want to put the department numbers in a drop down menu.Upon selection of a department number i want to Look in the whole workbook to see where the department number is, pull up the department head and all the employees in that department with their employee numbers
The reason for this is that I want to be able to add a button to delete/edit to be able to edit employee details centrally from this particular (CoverSheet) sheet and update the relevant sheet.
Also put in an input box to add employees and update the relevant tab (department)

it has been eye opening to say the least. I have a question however, I am in the process of creating a workbook of different things for my construction company and I am stuck. Is there a way that I can pull a cost code from a drop down and have whatever data is inputted into the cell to the right automatically transfered to a budget report (another sheet)? Example - Inputting time for my crews - select a code from the drop down list say for "concrete" Then I input the crews hours per day in subsequent columns and then sum it up at the final column. Can the sum of the hours worked doing "concrete" then automatically be transposed to the budget in the "concrete" section?
