I want to use VBA to insert an Organisation Chart in Excel 2007 (ie if I did this manually it would be Insert, SmartArt, Hierarchy), but I cannot find anything on line that shows how to do this in Excel 2007. I know the code for Excel 2003, but that does not work in 2007.
I having problem to determine the format value of dates that needs to be inserted in a Userform.
I have the following format in my userform for my Textbox:
When I select the calendar in my userform that is set as follows:
And select the first day of the month, it will always add the format as 05/01/2014 but if I select today’s date as example it will add it in the right format: 2014/05/26
I have included a sample to demonstrate the function of the calendar as I have declared it public as d in a module, therefore making the population of my userforms textbox easier to add information on dates.
If you add 2014/05/01 - 2014/05/26 and 2014/05/06 you will see where the system is having problem with the month and dates I guess the system confuses the two?
1) i have office 2003 on a laptop. within powerpoint, i can create a 'microsoft excel chart 11' object. to create a link to the excel data source, do i have to go through the odbc sql setup? it works, but i don't want my powerpoint to be dependent on some excel file somewhere. what are the other options to insert/make a functional pivot chart in powerpoint with the data also within powerpoint? the data as sheet option does not result in the chart being a pivot, it's just a plain chart. it has to be a proper object, not an image paste or a chart that updates links with the excel file open.
2) i have office 2007 on my other laptop. i can not find any suitable object to choose from to make a pivot chart in powerpoint. what's the best way to go about in 2007 version?
3) am i going about this the wrong way with the objects? should i be after vba code?
I am stuck trying to sort data that looks like the following, into a format that I can use as source data for pivot tables/charts.
Excel2007ABCDEFGHIJK2MalayMalayMalayMalayMalayMalay ChineseChinese3MaleFemaleFemaleMaleFemaleFemaleMaleMale 436-4536-4536-4525-3525-3525-3536-4536-455 DateArticleContentLapseCurrentCurrentCurrentLapseLapseCurrentCurrent612-SepRelieving 40 years - Oct 15, 1972 Thick Haze continues to blanket MalaysiaHistory42712-SepRelieving 40 years - May 5, 1972 All Sharifah wants is a pair of legsHistory1222812-SepA man and his agonyHistory3223912-SepA lesson on Sept 16History22Sheet2
I will need to group Data multiple ways. However, I cant work out a good way to sort it. Can I have a suggestion on layout that I will be able to arrange data appropriately.
I am trying to find specific text throughout an excel document (2007) and replace it with the same text but in italics. I tried using the options/format function and selecting italics for the "replace" text but it replaces the entire cell text in italics instead.
I have a question about conversion of a text format into date format.
2 computers, the first windows vista, the second Windows 8, both Excel 2007.
The purpose is to calculate the difference between 2 dates with hour:minutes:seconds, like for example: 18/12/2012 19:20:00 and 18/12/2012 19:23:03.
So in this example the result should be 00:03:03.
Both dates are formatted with 'personalized' : dd/mm/yyyy hh/mm.
In the first computer everything works like it should, but in the second it is apparently impossible to transform the first of those date h:m:s which is originally in a text format into a date format. I tried all the methods which i found to transform a text date format into a date , like multiplication with 1, Datevalue and others, but nothing seems to work, the result is always "#Value".
The above basically checks for a number, and if fails (there could be #N/A, #DIV/0!, text, or Number-stored-as-text in any cell here), it checks for text. (the 65000 is arbitrary; we will never have more than a few thousand rows)
However this is not reliable--the main problem seems to be number-stored-as-text. And it's not possible for me to do the Paste-Special Multiply *1 trick to convert the numbers because this data is dynamically generated from a database--the user would have to do that every time the sheet opens.
Is there not some formula that simply says: "Give me the last non-blank cell after row 4 in column E, regardless of what type of data"? (Excel 2007)
This seems so simple but i looked everywhere and i cannot find the vba script to add a 3 point solid black line border around the chart and plot area of my graphs. The record macro option does not record this.
I have written a sub with the purpose of finding rows based on a critieria, copying the rows to another worksheet and deleting the original row.
Code: Sub MoveToIgangvaerende() ' ' Flytter opgaven til sheetet Igangværende projekter ' Dim i, j, Index As Integer Forfra: For i = -1 To 1000 If Sheets("Pipeline").Cells(3 + i, 20) = "Ja" Or Sheets("Pipeline").Cells(3 + i, 20) = "ja" Then
I get the error message "Method 'Delete' of object 'Range' failed" at the line "Sheets("Pipeline").Cells(3 + i, 18).EntireRow.Delete".
I started a new job and my new company uses Excel 2010 (64-Bit). The code below was written for use in Excel 2007. I am trying to open an XML file and simply paste the results in a spreadsheet but I am getting this error, "Method 'OpenXML' of object 'Workbooks' failed" at the "set oWX" line in the code.
Sub GetNetTIEDAH() Dim idate As Integer Dim strThisBook As String
I am sure this may have been asked before ... but couldnt find it on a search
I have a number of userforms in an excel database, all with add, edit search capabilities.
Several of the textbox's have a time format, when I enter the time it is shown in hh:mm format, it is stored on the spreadsheet in the same format. but if I use the search function to recall a record and display it on the userform, to allow ammendments the time is always shown as a decimal. Can I set it to display the time as entered.
An example of some coding for a text box is shown below
Private Sub TxForTime_AfterUpdate() TxForTime.Value = Format(TxForTime.Value, "hh:mm") End Sub
I have some VBA code that in one portion of it an Outlook e-mail is created and the active workbook is attached and sent. This code used to work on Excel & Outlook 2003, but now in Excel & Outlook 2007 I'm getting the error:
Excel 2007, Vista. When I step through the code and hover over "Type:= msoTextBox" the tip pointer indicates a value of 17 which is consistent with the mso shape type enum for a TextBox, but Excel produces a smiley face instead.
Code: Sub TBoxAdd() Dim sh As Shape 'next line returns a smiley face Set sh = ActiveSheet.Shapes.AddShape(Type:=msoTextBox, Left:=100, Top:=100, Width:=100, Height:=100) MsgBox sh.Name 'Returns "Smiley Face #" End Sub
I'm using Excel 2007 and I am taking the contents of various user entered cells and creating drawing textboxes to display this data using VBA. How would I get VBA to resize the width of the textbox so that the text is displayed correctly in the textbox i.e. there will be variable lengths of text in the cells so I currenly can read the full contents?
I have a calendar userform that enters a date into a userform textbox in the format mm/dd/yy.
I am in the UK, so default date format is dd/mm/yyyy but i need it as above - mm/dd/yy
So, when I get a MsgBox to repeat Textbox1.Value (the date from the calendar object, formatted mm/dd/yy) and repeat it in format dddd mmmm dd yyyy, it reads the value not as I want it, mm/dd/yy, but as the usual dd/mm/yyyy - so instead of reading 08/01/12 as Wednesday August 01 2012 it is giving me Sunday January 08 2012 - even though in the cells on the worksheet that are populated from the textbox, the date reads correctly, so 08/01/2012 is indeed 1st August 2012 not January 8th 2012...
So it's the MsgBOx function reading the textbox in the userform wrong, and formatting makes no difference...
Can I fix this without changing my regional settings? Is there a way to set the region in vba then unset when leaving the program? I don't want to have to change regional, and anyway, the program will be used by others who won't know / want to do that.
Is it possible to selectively format text in a textbox on a userform ie. to make some of the text bold, other parts underlined and other parts italic etc. The text which appears in my text box is entered automatically by a piece of code which extracts the contents of certain cells and arranges them in the text box as needed. I would now like to be able to display the text box with the text formatted so that its not just all in plain text.
I am trying to find particular text in a cell then format adjacent cells in the same row. In my code below I am trying to search for "*[Tx]*" using Like, however this is formatting all text that contain "T".
I have a UserForm that Dead Head Miles will be entered into one text box. The Trip Miles will be entered into the second text box I would like for the user form to show the answer after the first entries are made something like this:
1)Dead Head Miles 20 + 2) Trip Miles 500 ----times---$2.00 3)Projected Rate $1040 --show this after the DH and Trip is entered and Multiplied by $2.00
I have a userform with a textbox and would like the user to type inside the textbox which in turn send the text typed to a cell on my spread sheet say sheet 1 cell ref A1. I am writing the following into the control source Sheet1!A1 but the control source does not except this. I am using excel 2007 .
I have excel 2007 and I came across the following difficulty:
If I create a graph (or a chart) the default size is "Letter". However, I can switch this "Letter" to "A4" which I need and then create a template. But I always have to manually choose this template for new charts. However switching this any time I create a new chart is a rather bad way to cope with. Even clicking on set as default obviously does not cause to have A4 size for new chart, it still has got size of Letter when adding a new chart.
I assume the solution could be in XLStart templates, but it probably doesnt work for charts that you add. Or at least I didnt find any clue on the internet for this problem.
I have built a chart using dynamic nameranges. The problem that I am facing is I tested it on two systems . One system the charts works fine but the other system the charts does not work . Both are excel 2007. Now the error that I get is if I see the chart data source from one system it is showing "!". The other file shows the chart data source as "0!". What should I be checking so that it works in the other system as well?
