Auto Open Macro To Find Correct Week Tab & Day/date In 52 Week Worksheets
Jan 19, 2010I am new to VBA & not sure of the full understanding of code copied from a workbook which worked on the same principle but with Monthly (12) tabs. I thought if modified to show weeks, the macro would be able to locate the current week tab & day/date within - but upon opening, the cell stops at WK19 & column O - rather than WK43, Column N (which changes daily).

1) check date
2) look it up in the lookup sheet (where it falls between start data/end date)

Mar 9, 2014I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be but I can't seem to figure it out. The goal of this spreadsheet is for General Managers of a restaurant to give feedback about food deliveries. These deliveries usually come on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, but could for a list of reasons come on any day of the week. I want to automatically populate as much information as possible without requiring GMs to remember and enter dates.
A1 is =TODAY()
A2:A5 is a drop down where the GM selects the day of the week the delivery arrived. i.e. MON, TUE, WED, etc. I want the corresponding date of the past week to auto-populate in this cell (or even the adjacent cell if necessary) once the day is selected. For example, if today is 3/8/2014, when MON is selected in A2, I want the cell to automatically add "3/3/2014," making the entire cell read "MON 3/3/2014."
So if said GM is filling in this spreadsheet on a Saturday, and I want to display the date of the previous Monday, I need to find the day of the week of A1 (WEEKDAY function), and make A2 = A1-5.
If today is a Friday, it would be A2=A1-4, and so on for the 7 days of the week.
Then I would need to do all of this for if a Tuesday is selected in the drop down box, meaning IF(Saturday)Then A2=A1-4, etc...
I was trying to string together IF statements like this:
=IF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()=7),A1-5), IF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()=6),A1-4)
It works when I do only the first IF statement, but when I add another it returns #VALUE. I thought that excel would find the first true value and stop evaluating.

I'm looking for a formula that will give me the date of the last Friday in a month based on another date. I have the formula below at the moment that works quite nicely for March 2012 but not for any others. It's getting the 5 at the end to be more flexible that's got me stumped.

Calculating Friday Date
Aug 7, 2006I have dates listed in column A indicating the day an action was performed. In column B I need to have the date in column A changed to a Friday. If the date in column A is not a Friday, then the date in column B needs to fall back to the previous Friday. For example, if the date entered in column A is today, Monday August 7, then the date in column B that I would be Friday August 4. Can anyone think of code that determine this and place the value in column B? Currently I use vlookup to go to another sheet where all the possible dates are listed with their respective Fridays, but this slows down the calculation worksheet as the file is quite large.

Mar 14, 2014I have an excel sheet wherin there is a column that has the data where in the dates are displayed and many other columns.
I get this excel every Thursday so i want to filter this date column in such a way that it give me the data related to the date of the previous week only yet there is a catch here. When i say previous week i mean.
Suppose today is 03/14/14 then i want the data from 03/07/14 till today ie Last week friday to this week full( so cant use Current week option) and then paste it in a new sheet.
I tried the Record part but in that it is taking a hard coded value as i am selecting the date myself. I dont want to change the date manually every time.

What I'd like to do instead is have VBA populate the listbox (or combobox or what have you) dynamically, by using a reference point (say, the first pay period of the year) and then populating every other Friday from that point forward. Also, it would be great if it could reference the current date as to only list pay period end dates in the future (or even the two prior to todays date, and then maybe 3 or 4 pay period end dates in the future).

Oct 18, 2013I am trying to calculate the Date of the next occurring 3rd Friday of the month in relation to a Static Date in a cell. So if Static Date in cell is Tuesday of the second week of a month, then I am trying to return the date of the 3rd Friday of that month. If the static date in the cell is the third friday of the month, I just want to return that particular date. And if the static date is after the 3rd Friday of the month, I am trying to return the 3rd friday of the following month. So far here is the formula I am using:

The problem I have is that if the static date is after the third friday of the month, this continues to return the 3rd friday of the month of the static date and does not advance to the third friday of the following month. Week Number For Date Relative To Date Range
Mar 17, 2008Is there a UDF that can determine the number of weeks for a date range specific that is not relative to the week number for the year but for the date range itself. i am aware of the weeknum function but this is for week number relative to the year. eg. date range 01/03/2008 - 31/05/2008 has approx 12 weeks and 14/05/2008 will be week number 10 for the range.

Mar 4, 2013I have collected some data on economic factors for different countries. Unfortunately, the dates when I started to calculated my economic factors are different for each country (due to the data available to me).
What I would like Excel to have done is to take the date when I started to measure for e.g. country A (D3 ie 30/06/2007), copy it into column "I" (for country A, it's cell I3) and fill in the following months in the rows below (with always the date of the last day of a month) until it reaches 28th of Feb 2013. Then, it should go up to the next country (country B) take the starting date (D4, ie 31/07/2007), go to the last entry in "I" (ie I71) and paste the date in, fill in the months until 28th of Feb 2013, do the same for country C and so on.
I have started to code a VBA but I am unfortunately a beginner in VBA and totally stuck at the moment. My VBA code does paste in the months but for some reason, it also changes the starting date of the first month.
Moreover, I tried a workaround for the fact that Excel doesnt know when to stop; ie I introduced a "monthdiff" variable which should calculate the number of months between the starting date (which is variable and unique for each country) and the end date (which is always 28th of Feb 2013). At the moment, it only does this for country A.

Dec 12, 2011way to search and display a date from a range of cells based on less than or greater than criteria. For example I have following dates in column A:
A1: 2011/01/04
A2: 2011/02/01
A3: 2011/03/01
A4: 2011/04/01
I want to search for the date which is less than 2011/02/01 from the A column and display that date in B1 cell for example. How do I do that?
I want to do this without using any macros.
