Move Date To Next Monday If Date Is On Friday / Saturday Or Sunday
Aug 24, 2014I have a list of dates and I need a formula that will return the date of the following Monday, IF the date falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
View 3 RepliesI have a list of dates and I need a formula that will return the date of the following Monday, IF the date falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to automatically get the following series filled in but have failed thus far:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,21,22,23....... (after 7, it skips 3 digits)
Similarly,
Excel has the "Fill Weekdays" option. However, how do I also remove Friday along with Saturday and Sunday from the dates of a year?
Can weeknum work with the week starting on saturday instead of sunday or monday?
if not, what are my options?
I have an excel sheet that uses date formulas in order to provide data regarding the date that it brings up. My problem is that the formulas do not bring up dates unless the dates are on a weekday. Ex. I would like to look back 3 months in the past, and I do so using the formula =today()-90 (90 for 90 days, about 3 months). I would then like to input this date formula into another function (potentially an if function) so that if today-90 is a saturday or a sunday, the function will automatically bring up the date for the friday preceding it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have three columns named "name","start_date" and "end_date"
ex:
Name start_date end_date
AB 9/11/13 10:19 AM ??
CD 9/12/13 11:45 AM ??
All i need to find is,
If Name = AB, i want put start_date+3 days in the end_date column,
similarly for name = CD , start_date+7 days.
But the calculation should exculde weekends(sat and sun).
ex: For AB, start_date = 10/3/13 (3rd oct , thrusday), end_date should be start_date+3 ,so end_date = 10/6/13 but 6th october is sunday so the formula should give end_date as 10/7/13.
I am making process TAT(Turn Around Time) which required following information. In Excel 2007.
1-Count number of days between two dates where working days are (Sun to Thursday). So required to exclude (Friday,Sat + Holidays)
A1-Start Date Mar/01/2014
B1-End Date Mar/31/2014
C1-No Of Days 22
D1-Days between two dates 21
E1 To E10-Holidays
2-Count number of days between two dates where working days are (Sat to Thursday). So required to exclude (Friday + Holidays)
A1-Start Date Mar/01/2014
B1-End Date Mar/31/2014
C1-No Of Days 27
D1-Days between two dates 26
E1 To E10-Holidays
Note : Any weekend (off days) dates listed in holidays should not effect the query.
I am currently using this formula =DATE(YEAR(A1),MONTH(A1)+6,DAY(A1)) to get me 6 months ahead from a certain date. There is a new problem that has arose for me. I need a formula that will give me 6 months from a certain date if it falls on a Monday if the 6 months does not fall on a Monday then give me the next Monday date.
for example 6 months from 1/2/2007 is 7/2/2007 which falls on a Monday which is fine but, If the start date was 1/3/2007 this falls on a Tuesday so I would need the next Monday date 7/9/2007.
I am trying to format a row (B) if B8 = Saturday or Sunday.
The value in B8 is derived from a formula.
I have tried the following but it only works if cell is typed manually.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
On Error GoTo stoppit
Application.EnableEvents = False
With Me.Range("B8")
If .Value = "Saturday" Or .Value = "Sunday" Then
Me.Range("B8:J8").Font.ColorIndex = 2
End If
End With
stoppit:
Application.EnableEvents = True
End
End Sub
I also want to change format back if cell changes to M-F.
Excel 97
If a sale was made between 2/09/2014 - 2/15/2014 return the date of the following weeks Friday. In this case 02/21/2014.

I have a formula
=AL260-WEEKDAY(AL260,2)+MATCH(AP260,{"Monday","Tuesday","Wednesday","Thursday","Friday","Saturday","Sunday"},0)
The formula looks at the chosen start date (AL260), and then uses a displayed text day (AP20) to display the relvent date to the text day, this works fine however if the start date is say 08/08/14 (a Friday) when the formula detects a Monday (this copies down a range looking at the start date and the text days to produce dates on each line, the formula displays the Monday dates prior to start date, is there any way to alter this to make it display the dates ahead of the chosen start date?

In A3, B3, and C3 I need to have the first Monday, Thursday, and Friday of the month. Here's the caveat, I need A3 to have the day that comes earliest in the month.
In this case, A3 would contain 8/1/08 since it's the first Friday, B3 would have 8/4/08 as the first Monday, then C3 would have 8/7/08 as the first Thrusday.
If A1 contained 7/1/08 then A3 would have 7/3/07 as the first Thursday with Friday and Monday following.
I need to work out how to get the last (or most recent) Friday date. Suppose today is 14/02/2013, then the previous date is: 08/02/2013. If today is 15/02/2013, then I just want it to be 15/02/2013 as it is Friday.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need a VBA code which tells me the date of previous monday of any date. The user types in any date to the cell A1, and I need the date of previous monday to be inserted to the cell A2.
For example:
A1: 9/5/2009 --> A2: 4/5/2009
A1: 19/5/2009 --> A2: 18/5/2009
A1: 27/12/2009 --> A2: 21/12/2009

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have attached the xlx sheet. I am a truck driver and I always have to calculate my weekly wage on paper.
I start everyday at different times it varies the end of shift as well. We have day shift, night, saturday, sunday payrates.
I have done an excel sheet I was trying for a couple of days reading forums and watching videos but just I couldn't.
Example if I start Friday at 18:00 and finisth Saturday at 04:00. I have in total 10 hours.
Day shift: 1 hour
Night shift: 5 hour
Saturday: 4 hour
So in one shift I get 3 different payrate. In one shift if I work more than 6 hours it must be deducted 00:45 minutes.
Day shift: 07:00-19:00 - £10.7
Night shift: 19:00-07:00 - £11.7
Saturday - £12.7
Sunday - £14.7

Another thread that wanted to count "weekends" got me to thinking about this one:
Count the full weeks (from Monday thru Sunday) between 2 dates.
For example...
Data Range
A
B
C
D
E
F
1
Date
Weekday
------
Start
End
Weeks
2
8/1/2013
Thu
8/1/2013
8/15/2013
1
3
8/2/2013
Fri
[Code] .........
Full Monday thru Sunday weeks = 1
This array formula** entered in F2:
=(MAX(IF(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2)),2)=7,ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2))))-MIN(IF(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2)),2)=1,ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2))))+1)/7
** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER.
The logic of the formula is:
The max Sunday date within the date range minus the min Monday date within the date range +1 = total days divided by 7 (days in a full week) = full weeks
I have a date and need to formula to tell me the date of the Sunday that occurs before it.
For example I want to it tell me that the Sunday before 13/05/2014 is 11/05/2014.
how to write an excel workbook function that will return last friday's date?
For example: If Today is 2/12/2008, it will return 2/8/2008 as the date
If there's one thing I really wish I understood more in Excel its how to use formulas to calculate days and times.
I'm looking for a formula that will give me the date of the last Friday in a month based on another date. I have the formula below at the moment that works quite nicely for March 2012 but not for any others. It's getting the 5 at the end to be more flexible that's got me stumped.
=DATE( YEAR(H12), MONTH(H12) + 1, 0) - (WEEKDAY( DATE( YEAR(H12), MONTH(H12) + 1, 0), 2) - 5 )
I have dates listed in column A indicating the day an action was performed. In column B I need to have the date in column A changed to a Friday. If the date in column A is not a Friday, then the date in column B needs to fall back to the previous Friday. For example, if the date entered in column A is today, Monday August 7, then the date in column B that I would be Friday August 4. Can anyone think of code that determine this and place the value in column B? Currently I use vlookup to go to another sheet where all the possible dates are listed with their respective Fridays, but this slows down the calculation worksheet as the file is quite large.

The clue's in the title. I have a date in cell (BC25). I need to jump forward by one year then if the date doesn't fall on a Monday I need to find the next Monday.
I've looked at this thread which should point the way but I'm particularly dim this morning and can't get it to work.

Without VB, is there a way to write a formula which when given a certain month, will output the date of, let's say, 2nd or last friday of the month?
View 14 Replies View RelatedOn my timesheet, there is a button that, when clicked, allows you to select a pay period end date. Our pay periods end every other Friday. When the button is clicked, it opens a form I designed that has a listbox that I manually entered every pay period for the year into. Here is the code I used:
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
' Populate the ListBox control.
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "04/03/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "04/17/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "05/01/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "05/15/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "05/29/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "06/05/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "06/19/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "07/03/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "07/17/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "07/31/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "08/07/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "08/21/09"
listPayPeriodEndDates.AddItem "09/04/09"........................
What I'd like to do instead is have VBA populate the listbox (or combobox or what have you) dynamically, by using a reference point (say, the first pay period of the year) and then populating every other Friday from that point forward. Also, it would be great if it could reference the current date as to only list pay period end dates in the future (or even the two prior to todays date, and then maybe 3 or 4 pay period end dates in the future).
Auto Hilighting Day & Date For Sunday. i tried but no use.
