Macro To Find Word And Delete Group Of Cells?
Aug 1, 2014I have an excel file, where there is a section "Additional Requirements". This section is repeated like 20-25 times in the sheet and has a group of merged cells below it to enter data as shown in the picture. Issue is that majority of these "Additional Requirements" are not filled by the user. Hence maybe only 3 or 4 are filled and I have to manually delete the rest. I tried the code below, but it doesn't do anything.Running the macro just jumps the cells slowly downwards the sheet. Maybe if the macro runs 10-15 times it reads the whole code and then moves on to the next row.8-1-2014 12-43-27 PM.png What I'm trying to achieve is:
1. for the macro to find "Additional Requirements"
2. Then check the Merged cell below it (thus the offset)
3. If this cell is blank, select this cell and the cell containing "Additional Requirements"
4. Delete entire rows of these cells/delete the selection (entirerow.delete). (I read somewhere to set a variable as selection and clear it, hence ive included in the unreadable code. This wasn't working either)

Oct 5, 2009I have got an excel sheet with 2 columns A and B.
Column A's rows are merged according to column B. E.g.
Column A:
Row 1-7 (merged) Ron
Column B:
Row 1: New Jersey
Row 2: New Delhi
Row 3: New Jersey
Row 4: New York
Row 5: New York
Row 6: New Jersey
Row 7: New York
My result should be like:
Column A:
Row 1: Ron
Column B:
Row 1: New York
and similarly for other rows also.
PS: The no. of rows merged for column A can be different.
Also the keyword that should be present in Column B should be according to hierarchy, New York, New Delhi and then New Jersey i.e. first the macro should check for New York, if its present (in 1st 7 rows according to example given) then New York should be written in Coulmn B, if New York is not present then it should check for New Delhi and New Delhi should be written in Column B and if New York and New Delhi both are not present then it should check for New Jersey.
There are only 3 keywords which need to be checked i.e. New York, New Delhi and New Jersey.
If these 3 keywords are not present then the macro should not do anything.

Jun 4, 2007I have a worksheet that is several thousand rows long. It is sectioned into various "topics" (e.g. Revenue, Profit); each topic (there are about 100) has 10 companies. The 10 companies are the same for each topic. For instance, if 2 of the companies are Microsoft and Intel, then there will be a Microsoft row and an Intel row within each topic.
I am trying to write some code to delete every instance of a company (the user indicates the company in a form). So, for instance, if I want to delete Microsoft, the user would enter the stock ticker, MSFT, into the form and press the appropriate command button. When the command button is pressed, the code should find each row that contains the ticker MSFT (the tickers happen to be in column B) and delete it.

In ColA From A 3 downwards I have a large list of keyword phrases.
I am looking for a macro where I click on a assigned macro button and a pop up box appears saying
" Find words Ending With"
In the space provided I insert a word.
So, for example I insert the word "rent".
The macro then looks at all the data in ColA (From A 3 downwards) and searches for all keyword phrases ending with the word "rent".
If it could return All Phrases in ColC (From C3 downwards).
If it can't find any, then if a pop up box can appear saying something like "No Data Found"
That's it really.
If it could have a pop up box at the end saying
"Total Phrases Scanned: 1234"
" Total Phrases Found Ending With "In"
"Time Elapsed (sec.): 12.12353

So far, i've sorted the column so all the blank cells appear at the top, and the "Name1" cells appear at the bottom. Now what I was going to do was use a loop, and I got as far as this before becoming confused .....

Mar 25, 2014I am trying to populate the 2 tables from excel to word. I will be getting the excel file with tables in various sheets. One sheet consist of 2 tables that will be inserted to one word document. So if there are 2 sheets then I will have the tables inserted in the 2 word document. In the excel sheet I have attached, there are 2 sheets with tables in each of them. I have written the code to copy and paste the table to word doc from (general) range A1:G4 (Table 1) and A9:H18 (Table 2) that has empty rows and columns selected. But there are empty rows and columns inserted since the table range is not same sheetwise. I would like get the empty rows and columns deleted in the word table.

Feb 23, 2009I have searched high and low for a more efficient macro than the current loop i have. I have a range that varies in size but always follows the same format. After i reach a certain value output from a formula, "4", I want to delete all lines below that line. So I want to find value "4" then move one row down and delete all lines to line 2004. May 17, 2008I have a report that comes in a txt file. After importing into excel i am left with a bunch of garbage that i dont need. This report is anywhere from 5-15 pages depending on how much product was made that shift. I only need the information off of the 1st page. My question is how can i Find the first occurance of specific text (Site) (will be in column A) and have it select that row and all rows below and delete them.
My biggest issue is the first page can be anywhere from 40-60 rows so I need to find the text (Site) and delete everything below it, which could be anywhere from 500-1500 rows.

Aug 6, 2008I am trying to select all the data in every row below where the first "flat" entry in the worksheet is but it will only go to the bottom of the data in the column where it finds flat. Some data in other columns extends beyond this so it is not working for me. Jan 5, 2010I have a large report that I pull each month listing which products we sold last month. There are certain products I don't want included in the report. Until I can have the report re-written, I'm looking for a macro or a function that will find all the rows that contain these product numbers in column M and delete the entire row. The product numbers I need to delete are always the same, but some months one or more of them might not be in the report if they weren't sold.
