textbox1 on a userform populates textbox2 on a different userform via a command button.
how can i make sure textbox2 keeps the format from textbox1?
eg: when i enter 0.010 in textbox1 and click a command button to populate textbox2 on the 2nd form it produces a value of .01 instead of 0.010
How to input more than one range into the combobox on format controls. Im using the combox to change charts. The ranges are
C2:C19
&
C23:C40
I have some data coming in from another source system which has the date format as "DD-MM-YYYY" but while pasting it to Excel (2007) sheet some date fields has just DD-MM-YY format which disrupts my macro. I did changing the language settings to "English(UK)" ,which i wanted, and changed the same in Excel options as well. But unfortunately it doesn't work.

What I now need to do is to copy the pivot table (without the data source) to a new workbook for data which will be collected from 2012 - 2013. Unfortunately when I copy it and try and find the new data source it does not update the filters according to the data in the new workbook.

That formula is picking up the figures located in another sheet but the figures on that sheet are arranged horizontally (A1 to J1). Is there a formula to perform this action? I've tried playing around with the $ sign in my formulas but it does not work.

I will need to group Data multiple ways. However, I cant work out a good way to sort it. Can I have a suggestion on layout that I will be able to arrange data appropriately.
there are a multitude of issues with US date formats when you're not in the US but I've run across one that I can't figure out.
I have a source table that has approx 5000 lines on it, everything looks correct and all the dates are in the correct (Australian) format. However when I use it to make a pivot table, any dates that are before the 12/m/yyyy gets changed to the mmddyyyy format in the pivot table only, all the source dates are still correct.
Not sure if this can be done, still a rookie at this stuff. Everything works but can something be wrote into code too change list source?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn VBA (Excel 2003), I'm wanting to get a reference to an ActiveX comboBox that is inside/attached to a cell.
I can iterate thru all the OLEObjects in the OLEObjects collection of the Worksheet and test the .TopLeftCell property to see if it matches my target cell. However, this seems like a long way around the problem - particularly if there's hundreds of comboboxes in the sheet.
Intuitively, I would have thought there would be a Cell.OLEObjects collection, but it appears that there isn't.
Is there a quicker and easier way to get a reference to the OLEObjects within a target cell?
I Want users to be able to copy a reference number from a an external program into excel, this works well for single cells but the cell I want them to be able to paste the information into is a merged cell and keep getting the "Data on the clipboard is not the same size and shape blah blah error". What I can do to get this information to paste? Is there some VBA that can kinda trick the cell to believe its single or when pasting it unmerges and then remerges again?

I thought of a way to build a script that first builds the formula to one cell then Copy Paste Special value of that Cell to my desired Cell.
But when the code runs The cursor moves back and forth all the time...
Source tab contains vital information about some clients.
In the aggregated tab (Cell C10) I created a formula that pulls the Inflows from the source in a very specific array. So for client 1, this works fine. Now, if i copy my formula to the client 2 (Cell C14), it obviously wont go and look in the correct array in my source.
What i need to do is to be able to copy/paste my formula
[Code].....
(from cells C10 to CC10) to cells C14 to CC14, but when copied, the look up array changes to:
Formula: [Code] ....
I will have to fill this formula to at least 100 entries down, so i need to make it work with ease
The good thing is that all look up values in the source increase by a fixed number of rows (12). I tried playing with index/rows formula.. no luck..

I am attempting to write an Excel Macro that would allow me to Click on a particular row and have the fields in my form fill with the data in the columns of the row.
I am fairly new to Macros and VBA, but know that this has got to be a possibility.
I need to add what specfic cell was modified on the sheet tab "data" or it could refer to the reference in column A for the specific row within the sheet "data"

I basically want the source of the data in a cell to be changed once another cell value is changed. I tried multiple formulas with no luck as well.
I have a report that was created for 2005 that contains two worksheets: a "source data" worksheet and a " pivot table" worksheet. I cleared out the 2005 data in the "source data" worksheet and replaced it with 2006 data...after this I refreshed the Pivot Table and everything seemed fine. When looking at the file size I noticed that it was almost twice its original size....upon further investigation I found that the Pivot Table was internally holding onto the old source data (the "Show" functionality of the rows/columns in the table lists the 2005 row/column headers as well as the 2006 headers....even though no data from 2005 is shown in the Pivot Table).
Does anyone know how to purge the old data from the internal Pivot Table memory?
I hope this is enough information....let me know if you need more.

I'm positive that this is a dumb question that's been answered elsewhere, so pardon my n00bness -- this is a one-time project for a non-programmer.
My manager needs to edit values in a spreadsheet. This person is non-technical and put off by spreadsheets, so I want to create a custom view of the data to show only the editable data (with pretty colors and fonts, etc.)
I have a source worksheet and a display worksheet. I need the display worksheet to show the values in the source worksheet, and I need changes in the display sheet to change the referenced data in the source sheet. For example, if cell Source:A1 = "thingamabob", then cell Display:A1 = "thingamabob". If user changes cell Display:A1 to "hoodgie", then cell Source:A1 changes to "hoodgie".
Essentially, the user has to be able to edit the source cell via the display cell.
Is that possible?
Again, please excuse my ignorance -- for all I know, this may be an automated function in Excel... but I've been trying to figure it out for two hours and so I thought I'd ask you nice people.
I would like to have a single button that changes a range of cells from the USD to EURO to perhaps CAD symbol. Can this operation be performed, such that if I start in dollars, and I click the button once, it shifts by range to EURO (not formulas...just symbol)...and then if I click the same button again, it goes to CAD, and then back to USD with a third click?

I am writing the following code to set the source data for a column chart. the source should be F13 until last cell, which is F862

Now it selects F13 until the last cell, which is F65536.
In cell A1 I have a forumlar which equals 'A2:F1465' which is the range of my data, how can I get a pivot table to use this for it's values as when I do it normally it asks me to manually select the range as above?
View 2 Replies View RelatedNormally when I double click on a cell with a formula linked to another spreadsheet, the double click takes you to the source. However, if the cell also has a comment, the double click takes you into the edit comment option and not to the source.
Is it possible to turn off the edit comment option from the double click?
I have 4 sheets. In each sheet, I have a column of data for every hour of every day of one year.
In the 1st worksheet, I want to make a chart using :
- for Y values : the average of the data for each day
- for X values: the day
In the 3 other worksheets,
- for Y values : the data for each hour
- for X values: the hour
To make it more simple, I will first build in the "D" column the data of the average data for each day (so, every 24 columns)

I have a pivot table whose data source is located on a shared network drive. Each day a new data source is uploaded and the only thing that changes is the date in the filename (ie. DataSource080813.xlsx). I am trying to find a way to set the data source to update with todays date automatically each day so that when you open the workbook it is always current days data. I have a cell (B2) with a formula in it that gives me the file location of todays file (ie. X:TeamFolderFile1DataSource080813.xlsx, where the date is derived using the TODAY() function. Is there a way to set the pivot table data source to cell B2 and have it use the text from B2 as the file location?

Issue: All of the pasted data is ending up in ONLY cell "A1" when using VBA.
When I just click in cell "A1" and CTRL-V, the data gets spread across a lot of cells, which is what I am after.

would like the points in my scatter chart to be displayed

the cells for the scatter chart contain 2 font colors - red and blue
e.g.

I have a column in excel which gets populated in the format "2/1/1980" when copied from a different source. I want a macro to run on this column and convert this in the below format. Required format: '02-01-80 (note the ' symbol before 02 which will keep it as text)
Existing ----> Required
2/1/1980 --> '02-01-80
2/1/1970 --> '02-01-70
2/1/1983 --> '02-01-83
I need this macro to run on two columns and replace them with the required format. I can do a find and replace either in the sheet or through hard coding the VBA, but as the date format keeps growing, I would need to do this via code and hence requesting the same.
