One of the formulas list whether or not an item is available or not. But when I try create a similar formula to indicate whether the item should be displayed or not I only end up with it being always displayed.

I'm trying to write a macro that will insert a excel formula into a specific cell. When I try to run the macro I receive a compile/ syntax error. I don't understand why as the formula works in excel. Here is the code (formula only)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an excel database which links into Outlook and Word via macros to automate sending of e-mails and creating documents, etc. Obviously, I have created the correct VBA references and things have been working fine for a while.
However, this is a shared workbook over a small number of machines and due to a recent upgrade, one of the machines is running Vista and Office 2007, whereas the rest run Office 2000 and NT.
All works well until the workbook is opened and saved on the Office 2007 machine as this then changes all the references to Word 12, Outlook 12, etc, instead of Word 9 as seen in Office 2000. Then, when an office 2000 machine opens the workbook, it has a compile error as it cannot find the office 12 references!!
I have created some code to fix this, which uses the AddFromGuid method, which works ok, e.g.:

I recorded macro for this formula its giving me syntax error i did " _" after the break but its still not working..
"Compile error - Syntax Error"
and the following line highlighted in yellow

It worked on Excel 2000 but not now and dont work either in Excel 2007.

I was able to get VBA to post this relative reference, which sticks the formula
=DATE(YEAR($D2),MONTH($D2)+6, DAY($D2)+1) into a cell in Col J.
All fine and dandy, works as it should with this formula.

However, when I try this with a different formula =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(C2,H2)),"REPEAT","SAFE"), I'm getting a compile error: Expected end of statement with this code:

The error message highlights the word REPEAT. I suppose it's something with all the quotes throwing off where compiler thinks the end of the formula should be.
I have a macro which is copying data from several worksheets into one consolidation worksheet. When determining where to paste the data into the consolidation sheet, the macro includes some logic to find the last row that has data in it (using e.Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row, where "e" is a variable holding the name of the consolidation worksheet).
Once all the data is on the consolidation worksheet, I have a second worksheet with formulas that link to the consolidation sheet. The issue I have is that the first step of my consolidation macro deletes all data on the consolidation sheet to ensure that no data is double-counted). I am deleting the data with logic that simply deletes all rows from 3 to 65536. Once these rows are deleted, Excel returns a #REF! error on my second worksheet which is linking back to this data.

It looks like Excel is getting hung up on the "SearchFormat:=" portion of the code.
I am looking for a more efficient way to write a macro (a sample from the macro is below). This is just the first part of the macro. I need to repeat these same steps (seen for row 5 below) for rows 5 to 50. My script worked until I hit row 35 and then I got the "compile error.." message. There must be a way to use "loop" to write this more efficiently, no?

When running a Macro I am getting an error message as follows:
Run-time error '1004':SQL Syntax error
The line of code which appears to be effected is:
.refresh Backgroundquery:=False
I dont really know what this part of the code is trying to do and why it is highlighted yellow when I try and run the code. I am basically importing data from Access to Excel and this line is the last line of the code. If I remove this line, the error does not occur and the code completes. However, the data from Access is not imported so I am assuming it is an important part of the code!
I am trying to convert cells (all in column D) which are separated by "~" into columns. Unfortunately, running the text to columns command on several rows at a time can cause Excel to panic with an out of memory error (error #7 etc.).
The file is ~100mb and contains 500k-700k rows (I have 4GB of RAM so I know this is more a limit of Excel's 2GB RAM constraint).
Can you please help me write a macro to text to column convert each cell in column D?
I tried a macro which started with a for loop, and called the function for each cell individually, but even this led to an out of memory exception after 156,000 rows (although the same macro worked fine on a similar sheet with 700,000 rows).
Are there any other ways of clearing the Excel buffer/temporary space during the function calls to avoid causing Excel to crash?
Can some see why this Code would fail intermittently?

I need to insert rows in row A44 depending how many cells exits in a range i named "ALL_C"
I saw this code that inserts 10 rows on A44 so i thought by modifying it the way i did would work but it didn't. I'm still new at this stuff. What am i doing wrong?

If you press the button twice you will get run-time error 1004 becuase Excel can't find any empty cells.
I want a function that counts blank cells before running the macro. If there are no blanks I don't want to execute the macro. That is to avoid run-time error 1004.

I have looked through previous posts with the same problem and I see that most people forget to add the "endIf" before looping. From what I can tell, I have ended all of my "If" statements.
The goal of this macro is to take temporary data and finding a match in other sheets and copying from "Temp" and pasting into the other sheets (possibly in the first blank cell, depending on the case) then deleting the row and moving on to the next row and repeating the process until "Temp" is empty.

I have an application that will require I create 20+ objects from a class I have created call "cWorkCenter." This is my first project using objects in VBA. I've created a string variable called "Title." THe application will loop through a list of resources on a worksheet, assign the name of that resource to the variable called "Title" (eg. Title=Range("A1")), then create an object named whatever the string is that "Title" represents. For example, if the first item in my list is "Resource1", then the first object created should be called "Resource1"
When I do this I get the following error: Compile Error: Duplicate declaration in current scope.
