IF Date Formula: IF Formula, That States If A Date Is More Than A Month After The Date In The Cell Then It Is Timely
Jun 2, 2006
I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.
i use dates a LOT in my job however if i want to add a month to a date the best i came up with is the following:
BTW all dates are USA standard (m/d/y)
A1 = 12/1/2008 Lets say i want to add 3 months but the day NEEDS to be 1 because of all of my array sumif's are based off of month 12/08, 2/09 etc, and in excel 12/08 actually translates to 12/1/08. So here is the formula I have been using for the last 4 years....
=date(year(a1),month(a1)+3,day(1)
that seems a bit "Clunky" to me anyone have a better idea?
do not tell me "=a1+30" or "31" because that does not work universally.
I have log data in two columns: Column A: Date/time (at 30 minute intervals) Column B: Numeric data
On the last row of each month, I’m trying to perform a SumProduct on the two columns and display that result in column C.
The end of the range is determined by the month in the current row.
I’m having difficulty finding the beginning of the range, though. I need to account for both the normal dynamic calendar days & the fact that I may get data starting mid-day and mid-month.
I have this formula, but I’m not sure how to make the first array dynamic or if this is even correct approach.
I have a input box that prompts a user to enter a date of a new month - it has to be the 1st of a new month. I have validation that it is a date that has been entered but then i want to validate the date entered is a month ahead of a date in a cell range on a sheet.
It is a monthly reset so it has to roll on from the previous month.
Here is what i have currently but it isn't working.
Code:
' Get user to input the first day of the new month to populate all dates with dNewMonth = InputBox(Prompt:="Enter first Day of the new Month. Must be the 1st of the Month e.g. 01/10/2012", _ Title:="Enter Date") ' Validates the entered date is a valid date If (IsDate(dNewMonth) = False) Then
Is there a formula in excel that will automatically populate a field with the prior months end date? For example - If my spreadsheet is opened on March 25, I would like the date in cell A1 to read 2/28/07.
Now, what I need to accomplish is that the D1 and D3's in sheet 2 need to result in a date next to the correct country (the date (in full) must be the first monday of the correct week). I find it quit difficult to do this because in sheet 2 you have once the country name, but several possible dates. So in sheet 1 there must be a date for every D1 or D3 but under each other.
The second problem is that I need to accomplish to get a "x" in sheet 3 under the correct month where there is an D1 or D3 in sheet 2 (week).
So I need to go from a week to a month and this can be for one country 1, 2, 3 or even more months (it depends from the D1 and D3's in sheet 2).
I have a sheet where the columns have the month end date for each date, ex January 31,2014 February 28, 2014, March 31, 2014 etc. These dates are used in another formula to compare to the current date and if the current date is past the result is different from when if the date is in the future.
I would like a formula that would update the Month end date when we enter a new year. So for example once we get to January 1 2015 my date would change to January 31,2015, February 28, 2015, March 31, 2015. this would note be dependent on the system date but on the date in another cell.
This formula on the forum has helped me to find the first day I specify of the month of a certain year. (here a monday in august of the year specified in B1)
As I'm not really good at understanding the formula (I get confused with the =0;7;0 bit), even though I can make it work I'd like to know how I can find the a last specific day (mo-su) in a month.
I would like to create a financial modeling spreadsheet. Basically my problem is this; I want to have a month by month row for 5 years. For the value of each one I would like it to increase by 950 per month automatically.
formula that will compute contract amounts that are paying out for a given month, depending on what is listed as the contract renew date and how often the contract renews.
Assume the contract date is in C1, contract renew date is in C2, Contract term is a drop down menu in C3 that has two options of text, 6 Months or 12 Months. C4 gives the contract amount. There are then dollar amounts in C5 and C6 that are only taken into consideration if they are $0.00. In B1 will be the run date or the date I want to pull my info for.
I basically need a formula in C7 that will return the contract amount from C4 taking into account these conditions: If there is a dollar amount in either C5 or C6, return "$0.00" in C7. But if C5 and C6 are both zero, than: If C3 = "12 Months" and B1 is in the same month as C2 (I don't want it to take into account the year of day of the date), than return the amount listed in C4 in cell C7. Or if C3 = "6 Months", and B1 is in the same month as C2 or if B1 is 6 months ahead of the month listed in C2 (again not taking into account the day or year), than return the amount in C4 in cell C7. So basically if the contract amount in C4 was $100, and B1 3/1/2014 and the contract renew date is C2 is 9/15/2013, I still want $100 to appear in C7, even though there is only technically 5 and a half months in between the dates of 9/15/2013 and 3/1/2014. I want it to look at these dates and add six months to the month of September and then look at cell B1 and as long as that date is a date in March, return the contract amount in cell C7. I also want $100 to appear in C7 if the date in B1 was a September date. In the situation where C3 is set to 12 months, if C2 is a September date than $100 will only appear in C7 if B1 is also a September date.
And one last thing, I'm going to somewhat withdraw my request that the year shouldn't be taken into account. This is only partially true. It just occurred to me that the $100 should only appear provided the date in B1 is in the same year or in a subsequent year AFTER the year of the contract renew date in C2. So for instance if, C2 is 9/15/2013 and I put in 03/01/2013 in B1, it should NOT calculate the $100 in C7 since the contract technically would not have renewed in March of '13 as it didn't exist until Sept of '13.
This might be a simple date transformation formula that I need
Column A has numbers like: 200517, 200530, 200544, 201036, 201043, etc
I'd like to get a formula in Col B in corresponding rows that would show date as dd/mm/yy
I know the numbers above are yyyyww = yyyy is year, and ww is the week of that year.
So the formula would have to convert that particular week to the day and month. I understand that are 7 days in a week, but if the formula would reflect Monday of that week, it would suffice.
It works fine, apart from the bolded text. In the Data Entry worksheet, column L has dates in the format dd/mm/yyyy. I'd like to get any date from June to be included without manually changing every date in June to Jun 14.
I think theres 3 ways of doing this, any of which would be great. Heres what I think. Where "Jun 14" is searching for exact text, I thought maybe I could change it to MONTH=6 or something to pick out June direct from a dd/mm/yyyy format. I couldnt get this to work. Know of anything I could replace "Jun 14" with?I tried to change the format of the entire column L in 'Data Entry' to a 3 letter month and 2 letter year. how to change the cell date format to fit this?Or if I changed the format of the dates to "01 June 2014" could I change my formula to try and just pick out the specific text "June" ignoring the day and year?
I know there must be a way how, but I can't seem to get it right.
The other option I thought of was to create a new column in the Data Entry sheet using the formula =MONTH(A1), then changing the formula to search for "1", "2", "3" etc for each month. I didn't do this as for the purpose of this the exact date is NOT important, only the Month is.
I am looking for a formula that will select a date in the month based on certain criteria. Found the choose function but not sure if I can really get that to work. I basically have a list of clients, with zip codes, restricted days of the week - and would like the system to group them by zip code and select the best day of the month to schedule an inspection but not pick he restricted day. The goal being have zip codes scheduled together - but on a day other than garbage day. Is this even doable?
I tried to copy a date from Temperature & Humidity Reading file using the formula ='[Temperature & Humidity Reading.xlsx]Sensor 7'!$C$2 to Summary file
if the date format is like this 6/10/2013 12:00:00 AM the result is fine, but when i try to copy that formula for the succeeding dates the results is same from what i copied.
Let's say I have thousands of employees, but I need to determine who worked for me during a particular date range, and all I have to go on is their start date in one column and their end date in another column.
If:
A1 contains beginning date of employment B1 contains ending date of employment C1 contains specified beginning date (criteria) D1 contains specified ending date (criteria)
I have a large spreadsheet which holds lots of data with date ranges that i need to performs different actions to. Any way to identify the number of days, per calender month, that falls in a date range.
sample data...
Start Date End Date Old Value New Value
08/03/2010 18/06/2010 16758.2 16758.1
[Code] .......
I need to break down the total number of days per month
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
24 30 31 18
[Code] ......
As you can see this also laps into a new year, which poses my next problem, ill probably just add more columns on to the end of the table for that though...
I will later apply different calculations to these cells but in short need to get a calculation for the number of days per month first.
(in short spreading the new value out accross the year then multiplying it by the days... i also need to apply a further daily volume cal to it).
The formula looks at the chosen start date (AL260), and then uses a displayed text day (AP20) to display the relvent date to the text day, this works fine however if the start date is say 08/08/14 (a Friday) when the formula detects a Monday (this copies down a range looking at the start date and the text days to produce dates on each line, the formula displays the Monday dates prior to start date, is there any way to alter this to make it display the dates ahead of the chosen start date?
I was wondering if anyone knows how I could enter a date in one cell, then another date in a second cell and in a third cell have it have it so it minuses the first date from the second and calculates the difference outputted in number of days.
is there a formula that will look at A2 and if the date in that column shows May 5, 2013, then in E2 it enters June 1, 2013? I would like E2 to automatically populate the first of the following month of A2.
What I need to do is that I have electrical tools that get tested on a certain date in Column A. I need Column B to look at column A and determine and display in date format the next quarter when test is due.
Practical example: Extension cord got tested on 04/04/12. The next test needs to be conducted on 01/06/12. If the test is overdue and gets conducted on 02/06/12. The column A will change to 02/06/12 and column B should change to 01/09/12 as a result.
I’m trying to resolve this issue and would appreciate some help.
Scenario I have a tracking sheet that tracks development of work to be completed by individuals. I have a due date column that shows when the work should be completed. Once the work has been completed, the user enters his completion date.
I have a formula that provides an overdue warning (Completion date – today’s date) and some conditional formatting.
Problem When I copy the formula through all the cells in the column I get a number (example 39504) and this changes everyday.
How can I eliminate this being shown as it throws out my average development day calculation?
I have a date in cell A1. I have an operator in cell A2. This info is then merged in to cell A3 with the following formula: =A2&TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy"). My data range is called "wc_date_of_loss". I want to use this info in a SUMPRODUCT formula (as the dates and operators can be changed by the end user). What's the correct syntax for that?
I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.
Stard Date End Date Oct-09 Nov-09 Jan-10 Feb-10 10/15/2009 01/13/2009
I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.
For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.
