IF THEN Function In Sorting Macros?

I have a macros set up to sort a group of figures. I would like to add an IF function to weed out certain items that do not fit the criteria and therefore would not be sorted but left at the bottom of the sheet.

Sorting Data Using Macros

Unsure how to start this off, any help would be great.

I have a spreadsheet with raw data in it, and am looking for a way to sort the raw data into separate sheets within excel using a Macro / VBA.

Here are the different columns of data I would like to copy into a different sheet.

Man Ord No.
Product No.
Operation Description

There is a Work Centre column I would like to use this column as a way to select the different rows of data.
So if there are five different rows of data for ACT#01 in the Work Centre column I would like it to copy the rows of data, delete all the columns that are not needed that’s all of them except for the above three, then add three new columns below.

Add a column called “Run Time
Add a column called “Resrce Name”
Add a column called “Available”

Work Centre will become the name of the sheet in Excel

The titles of the columns will have to be added in also, via the macro.

See the example excel file that I have started to make by hand, this is just one part of the process that am looking are automating there are other parts as well but just getting started for now.

Dynamic Sorting Without Macros

I am attempting with a simple spreadsheet he can use on the golf course on a Treo (so no macros I believe can be used). I am want him to be able put the order next to a list of people's names (the same 8 play) and then a dynamic sort will take place listing who goes first. Everything works great except it one or more people do not play then the sort lists them as "N/A". Instead of "N/A" I want it to show up as a blank.

Sorting Excel Data Using MACROS?

I have a large excel file with the following columns:

unique ID | Date | Time | D or N | Open | High | Low | Close | Volume

I would like to figure out how to create a table showing:

Date | Highest High of the Day | Time the High occurred | Lowest Low of Day | Time Low Occurred

I think this can be done in a macro where I sort first by the Date column then By the High column but I can't figure out how to get the rest.

VBA / Macros - Sorting Across Multiple Repetitive Columns?

I have attached an example spreadsheet with two tabs. The first tab (Matrix) shows raw data scores - there are 28 measures in Column A and Participants in Row 1. There are always 28 measures but participants can vary. What I need to happen is to sort each measure in a Lineup tab i.e. rank all the participants listed in the Matrix tab from lowest score to highest score for each of the 28 measures. Obviously this can be done manually but a VBA/macro solution will be so much faster and easier. Unfortunately I have to keep the data in this format so the macro will need to transpose the data to get into the formt in the Lineup tab.

i am tring to run a "For Each" Loop in excel with the condition that if cells in selecton trends ("Like") with another range.

Now I am not sure if I can run Like function against a range ... it works if i change range to a single cell

I want this because i have two column data, both contains client names, however names in both columns are slightly different ... (Like Colum A has ABC INC and Column B has ABC INC. ) so idea is to replace name in column A with Column B

Data Sorting, Min/Max, Selective Calculation Function

I'm using Excel 2003 with WinXP SP2.

I'm trying to make a spreadsheet to calculate my GPA for my studies. I can get everything to work fine except I want to be able to calculate an adjusted GPA based on a certain value of classes to drop.

The way it would work ideally is that I would be able to search/sort a data set and if it contained "X" number of entries then the "Y" number of lowest marks would be omitted from the AGPA calculation.

I'm having trouble designing a function/formula or scheme to sort the data range, and identify the lowest "Y" number of entries and recalculate the GPA without using them.

I've used the ROWS, Index, Small combination that works perfectly (Please see sample below). However, since the this software doesn't support the ROWS function, and doesn't support Macros.

Custom Function To Sum Visible Cells Clashing With Macros

I have a custom function that is interferring with VBA. If I remove the function the VBA works fine, if I put it back to do what it needs to do, the VBA does absolutely nothing. Any ideas on how to make things work together? Here is the custom function and it is in a module where the VBA that isn't working is in the main Workbook page, but it is a Worksheet Change VBA affecting the same page as the custom function.

I have an Excel 2003 program that contains macros. One of the macros hides certain command bars and disables the worksheet menu bar. On close the opposite is true. The problem is, if a user uses the disable macros when opening then the worksheet menu bar and other command bars are still available. I would like to hide all of the data sheets and display another sheet that would normally be hidden displaying a message that the macros have to be enabled for the program to work correctly if disable macros is chosen. When the enable macros are used I would like the Error page to be hidden.

Enable/Disable Macros When No Macros Are Present

I have a user that keeps a maintenance log in an Excel worksheet and sends an updated copy once a week to a board member. Two weeks ago, the board member started complaining that he was prompted to enable/disable macros on opening and became worried when my user stated that no macros were used in the book. He is now concerned that we have sent him a virus.

I know the file is clean because I've scanned it, and when I look at the file in VB, there are no modules or classes present just the Sheets 1-3 and the ThisWorkbook file. None of these objects have any code in them. My user does have some macros in PERSONAL.XLS but they are not used in the workbook in question.

No one else gets the prompt for enabling/disabling macros. Even if I set my security to prompt for any macros, I get no message. I'm convinced that there must be some setting in his Excel that is causing this individual to get this message. Is there anything else other than a macro that would cause this?

Hiding Macros From The Run Macros List

Is there a way to hide a macro from the list where you choose which to run, but not in the VBA editor? The userbox I just created calls upon 2 different macros, and has a macro to bring up the userbox. I need a way to hide the macros in Module3 from selection, but keep the macros in Module4 available to choose to run.

Macros Really Slow The Another Macros Is Run

I have two macros. Macros 1 opens another excel file, counts the number of rows it has, inserts that number of rows into the master file and then copies the data over. Key code as follows (x3 for 3 worksheets)...

Macros 2 'cleans' the appended data by systematically going through each row, checking if certain cells have data, and if not deletes the rows. Key code as follows (x3 for 3 worksheets)...

Here's the weirdness. macros 1 runs fairly quick the first time out (few seconds). Macros 2 takes about 2 minutes to run (which I'm fine with). However, when I run macros 1 AFTER running Macros 2, Macros 1 goes from taking a few seconds to a few minutes.

how to use excel 4 macros. I do not even know where to put them. I have inherited some spreadsheets that have both Xcel 4 Macros and vba macros in them. I'm having trouble using the worksheet copy command in a VBA subroutine. I have the following line in my code:

When I step through my code and execute this line, the sheet is copied as expected and put in the correct place, but then instead of the next line of code being highlighted, the pointer jumps to the first line of a function (in a different module) in my code.

I have a function

And a second function which defines and constructs a matrix of doubles to use as an argument in f1 to return a double:

I get an output error (#VALUE). I think it has something to do with MatrixRed not being a range anymore?

Nesting Index / Match Function Within Vlookup Function?

let me start by saying that I know an example workbook would be useful here, but the part I'm struggling with is the [managementroster.xlsm] file, and there is A. no way I can release it to the internets and B. its so huge/complicated I couldn't even begin to reproduce a portion of it, scrubbed of data, and hope to maintain its functionality in a meaningful manner.

This formula checks a staff number on this spreadsheet, and then goes and looks at the staff number on the roster. Once found, it returns that staff members roster, but changes any manager codes in the MRC list to Mgr, and changes all other roster codes to Free.

I now need this formula, before altering roster codes to Mgr or Free, to only return codes that are a match for another table (or after really. I don't particularly care, so long as only codes are shown that match data from another table). I think an index/match function would do the trick, but this forumula is already at the edge of my excel ability, nesting another function within it is completey beyond me. The relevant cells for the index/match function would be:

This first Match function targets the column. $E3 is the date required, $BA$1:$DN$1 is the range the dates are entered in
Match: Lookup value = $E3
Lookup array = '[ManagementRoster.xlsm]Vacancies!'$BA$1:$DN$1
match type = 0

This second Match function targets the row. $A$4 is the department name, $B$434:$B$452 is the range where all departments are entered

Match: Lookup value = $A$4
Lookup Array = '[ManagementRoster.xlsm]Vacancies!'$B$434:$B$452
match type = 0

Index: array = $BA$434:$DN$452

So I think my final function is

But I have absolutely NO idea where it would fit within my first formula, or how to code it so that my original formula only reproduces results that are found in both sheets, or anything.

Function To Mirroring Cell Relative To Function's Location

I have created a List in excel of various tasks. (See attached example.) Each row contains one cell with a function which equals the cell above it and to the right. So the function for cell C3 would be D2. The only importance is that the cell mirrored is always the cell one above and to the right. However, now I would like to be able to rearrange this List, but the “one up and to the right” function will now be all over the place.

Is someone aware of a function which will target a relative location instead of an exact cell?

Force Function To Use Row Relative To Cell Housing Function

I have been looking around have this much code from this site, modified. What I am trying to do is calculate numbers by a position with cells D through K having numeric values. I have 'hardcoded' the cells (D2, E2, etc in the code below), but in reality I only want the current row (so if the formula is on the 2nd row, I want D2, if it is on the 3rd row, I want D3).

My problem is obviously the formula isn't working because I am not correctly tying back to the spreadsheet (Positioncalc.xls). When I put the formula in the spreadsheet it works, but in my script I get 0 everytime.

My Script:

My next challenge after this is to highlight certain cells based on the Position. So if A2 = QB, I want cell D2 boldface and Red, etc. I have seen some scripts on colors and such here, so I might be able to figure it out.

how to create the database and the resulting Pivot Table. My Sales Database includes the Sales $ and GP$ for each line. In the Pivot Table I've managed to create a calculated field for GP %, no problem.

i have also managed to figure out how to express each Row as a % of the Pivot Total, also very easy.

What I need to know is how can I sort my Pivot Table High to Low using these calculated fields?

I don't understand all of it, but I observed that it works only with mp3 with tag id v1, not v2, anyway I also see another code for tag id v2 given by NateO.

But before entering in detail of what I want, is it possible to edit tag id v1 or even v2, with VBA? Because I want to complete my mp3 informations that are missing, or modify the wrong one, in excel, and then with a macro update my mp3 files...

I have a sheet with fixed number of rows but variable number of columns. I have to sort this sheet on the basis of column A starting A2. i am using the following code

Range("A1", Range("A1").End(xlToRight).End(xlDown)).Select

Selection.Sort Key1:=Range("A2"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:=xlYes

But it does not sort properly. To illustrate, i have 10 rows, some 4 columns wide and some 5 columns wide. Since the first row is 5 columns wide , all the rows with 5 columns populated get sorted but the rest get left out.
