Macro: Copy A Sheet In A Workbook
Sep 12, 2007
I have been able to figure out how to copy a sheet in a workbook and make x amount of copies of it in said workbook.
Now...I have a list of names on a sheet named Roster. The list of names reside in column A2-A181.
I need to figure out how to make a new sheet with one name from the list in Roster and have the tab named after the person on the sheet.
The list is in alphabetical order and the sheets should remain as such.
In A2 of each *new sheet*, there should be a name from the Roster sheet, but never a duplicate name.

I'm trying to copy a worksheet from one workbook to another from within a macro.
I tried recording a macro while I did it, but Excel only records the first half within the source workbook:
Sheets("RAP").Select
Sheets("RAP").Copy
The Macro Recorder doesn't show the 2nd half in which I select the destination workbook and paste. And there is no paste method; I can't say
Sheets.paste
How do I paste the sheet into the destination workbook?

computer just doesn't have the horsepower to run all of the sheets and the formulas and put them together on one sheet in the same workbook.
I was wondering if it would be possible to take the identically arranged sheets from one book and paste the VALUES over to One page in another book.
I'm guessing you'd need to know the directory of the workbook and the title?
Below is the macro i run to compile in to one page in same workbook: (Summary3 is an arbitrary name for the new page, HEADERS is the name of the page that holds the headers for all of the categories, 2014 URL, RAP and DB_Template are the three sheets that I don't want to copy in to this new page)
The headers are in each sheet from B2:DL2 and the data would be from B3:DL75.
I am looking for an update to the following macro that would paste all of the VALUES from each of these sheets in to a new workbook on a single page.
Sub CopyAll()
Dim ws As Worksheet
Sheets.Add.Name = "Summary3"
Sheets("Summary3").rows(1).value = Sheets("Headers").rows(1).value
For Each ws In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
ws.Activate
If ws.Name <> "2014 URL" And ws.Name <> "RAP" And ws.Name <> "DB_Template" And ws.Name <> "Summary" Then
Range("B2:DL75").Copy Sheets("Summary3").Range("B" & Rows.count).End(3)(2)
End If
Next ws
End Sub

I want to create a macro that will allow me to copy a specific area or dataset of one sheet to all of the other sheets within a workbook. For example, on my first sheet, i want to copy A1:C3. I want that information to show up on all the other sheets in A1:C3.

I have a macro code which gets the file list from a folder i specify and puts it in to an excel sheet as a column. I have then made a drop down list from this so the user can select the file they want.
From this file i wish to copy the data on a sheet that i specify. For example the sheet "dump" from file FR7_19.11.2009.xls (which will be a closed workbook) and paste its content in to the sheet "dump" in Summary.xls
I have a macro which opens up the closed workbook FR7_19.11.2009.xls and copies the sheet "dump" and then creates a new sheet of the same name and content in my current workbook (Summary.xls). However when i wish to select a different file to load in to Summary.xls "dump" the formulas i have been calculating information from this sheet all come up with #!Ref errors. I know this is because the macro i use deletes the old dump sheet before re adding a new one containing new data.
I am therefore looking for a macro which will simply just copy and paste the data from any file i select in to a sheet named "dump" as the data is always set out the same in every file but the values are different. I assume this will then mean that any formulas i use relating to this "dump" sheet in Summary.xls will work because the sheet is no longer being deleted and re-added the data within it has just simply been copied over.

I have been trying to edit a code which previously saved a copy in a new workbook to a specific folder/path. (Additionally it copies and clears some figures, but this is working as it should.)
However I would like the copy to be saved at the same location as the original workbook, regardless of the path the original workbook is saved.
I.e if I need to move the workbook containing the code to a new folder/location, when using the macro, the new copy should be stored in the same folder/location as the original one.
For now it is only saving the copy into "My Documents"
Code:
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 16-02-2009 by ceng
'
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Select
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Copy
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:= _
ActiveWorkbook.Path & Range("D3"), _
FileFormat:=xlOpenXMLWorkbookMacroEnabled, CreateBackup:=False
[Code] ........

Here's my macro:
Code:
Sub CopyRow()'
'Copies row to new sheet, highlights it, marks column 'A' as copied.
'
Dim cCell As Range
Set cCell = Selection.Cells(1, 1)
Selection.Copy
Sheets("Sheet2").Select
Rows("2:2").Select
[Code] .....
Is it possible to modify it to paste into a different workbook called c:filesDestination.xlsm, instead of the existing workbook (Source.xlsm)? The destination sheet name is the same (Sheet2). It's OK if both workbooks are open at the same time.

I have data in 2 different workbooks, and I need to transfer all data in 'Jx_ex1' to sheet1 in the 'template' workbook, and all data in 'Gr_ex1' to sheet2 in 'template' workbook. All data should be transferred to the same cell numbers, from A1 to Y5000. I actually have loads of workbooks to transfer to the template but if I have an example with the two then im sure I can work out how to modify it. All files will be in the same folder.

I am creating a spreadsheet to provide to a group of about 40 people. The spreadsheet allows each member to track the referrals they receive and give. I need to plan on creating updates for the spreadsheet and want to make it so they can easily transfer their data to the most current version in the future. Here is a breakdown of the workbook:
Worksheets:
Members
Lists
Referrals Given
Referrals Received
Totals
Formulas
I need to copy the data that they have input from the following worksheets:
Referrals Given
Referrals Received
Here is a breakdown of the "Referrals Received" worksheet:
A1:V4 - Data that will not change and includes many named cells
A5:Nxxx - Dynamic Named Range where they input their data
O5:Vxxx - Contains formulas
I need to be able to copy
A5:Vxxxxx
from the old workbook to the new
Some side items to note:
There is VBA in the worksheet of
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
and included in the code is an Unprotect & Protect code to always keep the sheet protected
I figure whatever works for this sheet will work for all the sheets.

have a basic knowledge of VBA. The task I am trying to perform with VBA is to
1. Copy from sheet1 A1 to sheet2 E9
2. Copy from sheet1 B1 to sheet2 E11
3. Save sheet2 in a new workbook file with the file name cell data from sheet1 A1 (511894.xls)
4. Copy from sheet1 A2 to sheet2 E9
5. Copy from sheet1 B2 to sheet2 E11
6. Save sheet2 in a new workbook file with the file name cell data from sheet1 A2 (097219.xls)
7. Repeat the process down columns A and B to the end of the columns.
8. Columns A and B will end at the same time but the data and the last cell will change with each scan added to the columns.
This code will accomplish this task with a single column of data but not two columns. Also column B will have a mixture of numbers and letters in its cells, Column A is only numbers.
VB:
Sub MoveData()
sName = "temp"
Const csPath As String = "C:Documents and SettingsmcgaulcDesktopTestFile"
'MyName = ActiveWorkbook.Name
[Code].....
Here are some images of the data sheet and the saved sheet
Sheet1.jpg Sheet2.jpg Note: sheet2 in image is "temp" sheet in code

I sit and struggle with a macro and I'm having trouble with a piece of code, that looks like this:
Set NewBook = Workbooks.Add
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
With NewBook
.SaveAs Filename:="Kabelsynsrapport.xlsx"
End With
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 100).Range("A1").Select
Windows("forsynings ark.xlsm").Activate
Sheets("Kabelsynsrapport").Select
Sheets("Kabelsynsrapport").Copy Before:=Workbooks("Kabelsynsrapport.xlsx").Sheets(1)
My code fails at the last line, and when I try to perform the action manually, I get this error: The sheets can not be inserted in the destination workbook, because it contains fewer rows and columns than the source workbook. To move or copy the data to destinatinosprojektmappen, you can select them and then use the command Copy and Paste to paste them on sheets in another workbook.

There are more than 100 names that are defined and is not practical for me to do.
