1. Macro runs and Insert 10 blank rows after each item row. EXCEPTION: if rows are identical on Column A do not insert. Insert - only after non-duplicates. There are times where there 3-4 rows that are part of the same group.
2. Insert a bottom border line to separate each group. See attached for sample.
I was wondering if there was any way to do a cell format so that if I type in a word in sheet1 say "mike" on sheet2 the word "mike" cell would be highlighted? or if there is a formula you could use to do that.
I am designing a basic front end using formulas as the work computers dont like VBA script.
I need the calculator ( attached) to replicate the 'calculations' sheet based on the number of accounts specified in 'Investor Details'. Ideally, I would like to use a button or similar to make it user friendly.
I also need to be able to hide rows based on a condition being met and conditional formatting doesn't seem to work (eg. 'Investor Details' 10-14 if C8 = Yes.)
I need to take data from multiple cells in a row from one sheet and paste it into another sheet (linking them) but in a column. I could do this simply linking cells one by one but it's a hard work since the cells are hundreds.
I want this macro to apply the conditional formatting to all rows in each sheet that have "BE" in col G. The macro works fine in Cell A2 only. And only on the worksheet that I have active at the time that I run the macro. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
I have a protected sheet. Under normal circumstances, once the sheet is protected, the facility to choose the font goes away. You can allow it by putting a check against 'Format Cells' in the protection dialogue. But then, the user can format all aspects of the cell. What if I want the user to be able to format only the font (type and size) and nothing else in the cell or in a range of cells. Is there a procedure or VBA for that?
I am attempting to remove all conditional formatting from a sheet. Over time as data has been copied and pasted, the conditional formatting has gotten out of line and now there are hundreds of rows of unneeded conditional formats. The problem is that the only way I know how to delete each rule is to click each item on the conditional formatting rules manager and hit delete. This takes forever. Is there a way to remove all at one time?
I have a worksheet with a list of four digit codes that are colored. On a separate worksheet (in the same workbook,) I would like to be able to type the four digit code in, and have it return the color I have the cell turned. E.g., I have a cell with 8810 colored green on one sheet, and I need to be able to type that code on another sheet and have the cell turn green. Is this possible? The codes are all random, with three different colors to choose from, so conditional formatting is probably not the best solution.
On one of my excel spreadsheets I have someone's name and a drop down list of "subscribe" or "unsubscribed" in the next column over:
Name
Company Subscribed?
Name1 amazing company Unsubscribed
[Code] .......
I have their names in column A on another sheet and a load of contact details and details on subscription price etc. I want to be able to conditional format these rows of details according to if they are subscribed or not. I'm struggling to come up with a formula that works and the conditional formatting menu isn't working much.
I am trying to reference a cell in sheet All Employees in sheet Brock. This is an employee training database.
Currently there is no data in the cell I want to reference (B9). When I use the formula ='all employees'!b9 the cell in the brock sheet shows "january 00 00" even when the referenced cell is empty. This problem is eliminated if I formate the Brock cell to General. It then displays a zero.
However, the cell in the All Employees Sheet is going to be a date. If I format the Brock cell to general, when I enter a date in All Employees, it gives a large number, not a date. This problem is eliminated by changing the formating of the Brock cell to Date.
What I would like to do is be able to type the date in the All Employees sheet and have it magically transfer to the Brock sheet without any additional work. I would like the brock sheet to be printable, and with January 00 00 written all over it, not only is it messy but its incorrect.
create a fixture list from data i have in 2 other worksheets,Fixture Generator and Results.I was thinking the results page would be better to get the info from as it is already filtered (if 16 teams, 8 rows + 2 headers, if 9 teams, 5 rows + 2 headers etc.)The thing is, the filter has it listed in a column.
How would i get the info, conditionally, to enter into the fixtures sheet so that week 1 would be to the left, then week 2 to the right of that, up until week 4, then start a new row of fixtures until it is complete. Possibly having a gap between the first half and the second half ?
I have written a code that copies the formatting across a row (in first sheet). It then goes to the next sheet deleted all conditional formatting and pastes to the end row. This works well for applying to new sheets.
But how do I reapply to the current sheet. Is there a way to get each conditional format and give it a new range so it includes any recently added rows. I have found I need to delete all formats on the sheet first as it would otherwise duplicate the same format over and over each time.
Code: For nn = 2 To 9 'Each ws In ThisWorkbook.Worksheets Set ws = Worksheets(nn)
I am trying to have one sheet with company names on it and another as a schedule. I have about 20 companies that I need to list on the main schedule sheet. Is there anyway when I type a company name in one sheet, when it copies that cell to the schedule sheet, format that cell to a specified format? I know conditional formatting will work, but it only allows 3. I need around 20. I would just like to change the background color of that cell when the name is typed in.
I have locked some cells on my Spreadsheet so other people can not change them. What I would like to know is how do I change the colour of the font? I also would like to Bold/unbold the font.
I have inherited a monstrous speadsheet on which all data appears on a single sheet rather than being broken up across several sheets in some logical fashion.
One portion of this monster is a set of quite a few form letters, each of which reference various cells elsewhere in the spreadsheet.
I want to move all of these letters, together, to another tabbed sheet as a first step in reorganizing the monster.
Simply copying and pasting the cells or columns doesn't work. It fails in different ways depending on which pasting options I employ.
A very simplified version of my problem appears on the 5 sheets of the attached file, with what I hope is just enough further detail about the difficulty.
By the way, I also tried using the "Insert Copied Cells" option when pasting but since this failed with the exact same results as one of the other options I didn't include the results in the example shreadsheet.
I am trying to use condtional formatting to highlight a row in a table if the order number is NOT on another table, on a different sheet. Example: Order Number 1001 is in my table on Sheet4, Once the order has been filled is comes off my "Pending Orders" table on Sheet1, which is based on a data connection, so it updates once the connection is refreshed. I would like the row with order number 1001 in my table on Sheet4 to be highlighted letting me know it can now be removed, since I have to manually manage this table. I am using Excel 2010.
EXAMPLE: Complete Sheet called "Day1". When day1 is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day2", then when "Day2" is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day3", and so on and so forth to "Day30".
This is going to be difficult to explain, but I'll try... I need to be able to format a sheet that has all data in column format. Column A contains a number and B an application. C contains the issue data. I need the issue data to be moved under column A and B as illustrated below. What formula can I do to accomplish this?

Can't get html or the image tags to work for some reason.
I have attached a 97-2003 .xls file with data for multiple store locations on sheet 1, and the desired result on sheet 2. I am actually using excel 2007, but I dont think I need any special features that it provides.
I will try to explain the issue here without opening the attachment.
I am currently using a macro to copy a sheet from a closed workbook in to my current workbook. However this copying is based on the sheet name. At present when I run the following code
I am using Excel 2010 and I have a password protected workbook with password protected sheets that uses several macros. Most of them, in order to run, have to un-protect the sheet and then re-protect it again. This has been accomplished easily enough by adding ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:= "mypassword" and ActiveSheet.Protect Password:= "mypassword" to the appropriate places in the script. All of my macros, which do various things like sorting and moving data, deleting blank rows, displaying dialog boxes containing warning messages etc. run fine.
My problem is this: when I password protect the sheets manually, I have checked the following options in the "Protect Sheet" dialog box. Under "Allow users of this worksheet to" I have checked 1)Select unlocked cells and 2)Format cells. After entering my password and closing the dialog box my sheet is protected, but I can edit cells in the manner my allowances permit. However, once I run any of the macros that un-protect and re-protect the sheet, I remain able to select and edit unlocked cells (practically, for my purposes, this means that I can input data which will appear in the default font size and color of the sheet) but I cannot format cells (which, practically, for my purposes would allow me to occasionally change the font color and size of the data). Naturally, after running a macro, the other cell-formatting options are unavailable to me as well. Is there any way to get my manual selections to remain in place after running a macro that functions as mine do? Or is there any way to make my manual selections the default settings for a protected sheet?
I am running excel 2010 with windows 7. I created a macro in sheet 1 and I wish to activate the macro from sheet 2 using a form button. I have entered the code below. I know how to perform this function on a more simple macro like adding names to cells. This code is a bit more complex I just dont know where to start.
i need a macro that will compare the p'folios in sheet "Data to Sheet Workings, and then list the p;folios which is in sheet Data but not in workings in Sheet "New", so in the example below this would be ETSTSA ...
I need a Macro which pulls the data from different sheets of excel (which is not formatted properly) to Main Sheet. Also some of the columns will not have the same names, so macro should handle this exception as well.
