How can I let cell F5 for example contain both the texts or contents of cells A1 and B1? Is there a function that can do that purpose?

I’m having some problems writing a macro,

I have a spreadsheet with 2 columns. The first column is the index number (unique identifier) of the second column’s data that will repeat itself as many rows as needed. Let me try to exemplify it:

Column A (index)Column B (text)
1 AAA
1 BBB
1 CCC
2 DDD
2 EEE
3 FFF
3 GGG
3 HHH
3 III

I’m trying to write a macro that will merge the text of each identifier in the first row it appears. The result I’m looking for is:

Column A (index)Column B (text)
1AAA
BBB
CCC
2DDD
EEE
3FFF
GGG
HHH
III

I already know how to make the merge, but I can’t get the logic to make it go through each row and merge the contents, since the number or rows for each identifier varies.

I have a sheet over data with over 8500 entries in. One column us a list of item numbers, the second the packaging requirement code, and the other is a list of packaging requirements for the item. The majority of the items have more than one packaging requirement.

What is the quickest way of merging all the packaging requirements for each item together?

Merging 114,618 Cells Into 1 Very Long Cell?

I have a spreadsheet of barcodes 114,618 rows long. I have a program that requires me to enter in each and every barcode in a certain format. This is the format that it requires me to place the barcodes into.

23423432, 23432342, 234324323, 234322344, 432432432, .............

so and and so forth.

Only problem is my POS system exports the barcodes in a format that looks like this:

545554545435
345435435435
354543534534
354534545453

Now I have a Macro to add a comma to the end of these barcodes. That part was a breeze, however, I have hit a brick wall when it comes to placing them into an ongoing sentence type format, that my program needs. I have found several ways to combine and merge and "justify" the content, however these typically only cover small amounts of content, and doesn't even come close to hitting anything over 100,000. I don't know if maybe I need to be using another program in tandem with Excel.

I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to add up codes and quantitys, after this I want the repeated info deleted. For example;

So what I want to do is add the numbers up so I can get one value. For example, 4RWHB I want to add them all up so that it totals 68 still shows the code and description but then only shows 68 4RWHB 4 Row Wooden Handle Welders Brush and not the same line repeated. I want to condense all the information down so where there is same model numbers I can add it up and it doesn't give me multiples but summarises it down into one line per model number.

I used the function =randbetween(0,1) to generate 1's and 0's. Just wondered if there is a way to repeat this multiple times in same cell so it looks like 1 0 1 0 0 1 etc... as an example. Or a way to merge cells?

I do not have excel or an xls for a sample, I will try and restate the question.

In Cell A1 It will be used for copying the contents of and pasting the completed information into web browsers.
In Cell A1 You will find This information contained and formatted in one cell alone.

Having Cell B1-B9 Being used as labels "Product Name" "UPC Number" "etc" and using cell C1-C9 to input variables for = (X)(Y)(Z)(ETC)

In reality from cell A1 will change dynamically, but some information will need to stay constant.

Every thing In B column will just be labels.
Every thing In C will be for variables.

I want to create a macro that will run through a column and assign a name to each cell in that column that reflects the contents of another cell within each row.

for example, cell A1 = "Gerry", A2 = "Rob", A3 = "Ryan"
I would then like the Name of B1 to be "Gerry", B2 to be "Rob", etc (but to retain original contents).

I have a formula that looks at a cell on a front sheet, and then returns the contents of that cell as the result if it meets the criteria. So for example this formula would be in Cell A1 on Sheet2 IF(SHEET1!A1,"New",Sheet1!A1,"-")

This formula is always in the same cell (different sheet) as the cell that it is looking at, down 1500 rows. Instead of having the formula named for each cell is there anyway to ask excel to 'look at this cell but on this other sheet'.
e.g IF(Sheet1!"This Cell" etc). That way no matter what cell you put the formula in it is always referencing the correct cell for the formula?

How To Switch Cell Contents Between Two Adjacent Cells

I have a list of 20,000 addresses and because of the way the sheet gets populated by different departments, the COUNTRY CODE and POSTAL CODE columns get their data reversed.

Instead of 48193 US, it gets put in as US 48193.

Since i have some many, and they are not in order at all (I could probably sort by COUNTRY CODE and get 95% of the in order (except for those pesky Canadian codes), is there a macro way out of this?

Even if I select two adjacent cells and run the macro and have the contents switch. Or if there is a way to do the 95% all at once.

Is it possible to place formulas in vba to control cells based on the cells contents.

A2 will be the the price of an item excluding vat and b2 will be the price of an item including vat

What i want to achieve is if I put a figure into a2 b2 then multiplies a2 by 1.15 to reflect the price including vat. If this is achievable I then want to reverse the proceedure so if I put the price including VAT into b2 a2 divides b2 by 1.15 to reflect the price exc. VAT.#

Make Text Flow Into Adjacent Cell Without Merging Cells Or Wrapping Text?

I have some text in a cell, which is longer than the width that I am going to make that cell. When I don't wrap the text, it cuts it off at the end of the cell.

Since each column represents a day in a calendar, it would be incorrect to merge the two cells, but I don't want the text hidden, since I need to print the final product.

It is non-numeric text, and i've pasted --> values to remove formula issues.

Populate Cells On Different Sheet With Cell Contents Of A Preselected Row

I have contacts list that I made and want to take it to the next level, but don't know how. See attached.

The goal:
1. Highlight an entire row of someone's contact info (i.e. row 9)
2. Click the "ORDER FORM" text box to activate a macro that populates specific cells on the 'order form' sheet with the customer's contact information from the highlighted row. The information I want copied over is in red on the order form sheet. THAT'S IT!! (Oh, and 'paste value' the current date from H5 so that the date is static on the order sheet

If possible, I would like to have an error check in case no row is selected prior to clicking on the text box that pops up the note "Please highlight a contact row before clicking the 'Order Form' button."

Hyperlinking Multiple Cells Based On Another Cell Contents

I have just started to learn how to use vba in microsoft excel. Over the past few days i have been creating a drawing register and have incorporated multiple routines based on searching this forum. Up until this point i have foud everything i needed on this forum, but now i cannot work out how to creat a routine that does the below.

The setup
*I have a folder called Zircon Plant
*That folder contains 3 folders 01. Superseded, 02. PDFs and 03. Documentation (the 01. Sup...etc. is the actual folder name, the 01, 02 and 03 isnt distinguishing the 3 folders)
*The Register is located in 03. Documentation
*The PDFs i want to hyperlink to are located in 02. PDFs

What i want to do
*i have 2000 rows of drawing names
*the drawing name in excel is spread over 5 side by side cells on each row (rows 21 - 2020) so for example the first row the information is in cells (H21, I21, J21, K21 ,L21)
*the cells i want to contain hyperlinks are V21 - V2020

so what i want is when excel opens up (i already have another script running at startup so i will be placing this after the other startup routine i have) i want it to search in folder 02. PDFs using the contents in (for example the first row (21) and colums HIJKL contain (H21)4CP(I21)-(J21)D(K21)-(L21)55000) each row and combine those cell contents to find the file name 4CP-D-55000.pdf. I then want it to go down every row until row 2020 untill it has added all pdfs.

(The second row is (H22)4CP(I221)-(J221)D(K221)-(L21)55001.....file name would be 4CP-D-55001.....third row would be 4CP-D-55002 etc...)

If such a pdf with that name doesnt exist, i want the cell (for example v21) to read "PDF not available"

based on a search here i have been able to do this for 1 cell, but dont want to do 2000 seperate routines. the current routine i have for it to work on one cell is

I have a script that copies data to files based on many cells contents but where I am having a problem is creating series numbers for each file.

In my current code I copy files to folders by date and each folder I need series of files (Lab Testing series)

In column A1:A100 I have a series of numbers 01, 02, 03 ...100

Column B contains the Files to be saved

So this works fine

Since my Cells are populated by all the data in the workbook I thought at the end of my copy script I would take the next Cells data in A and put it in Cell H8 where all the constants are for the file names.

Column B is built using

=IF($C1="","",$I$1&$G$4&$D1&""&$I$8&$H$8)
=IF($C2="","",$I$1&$G$4&$D2&""&$I$8&$H$8)

I am trying to give a cell a unique ID based on the contents of 2 other cells.

Basically in cell A1 a value is entered between 1 and 13 and in cell A2 another value is entered between 1 and 4 to find the unique ID that matches these I need to look in DF4:FE4 to find the number that matches A1 ( there will be 4 matches) then look in thoses 4 matches in DF5:FE5 to find the match to A2 ( there will only be 1 match ) then return the id from the relvant cell in DF3:FE3.

Automatically Put Quotes Around Contents Of Every Cell Including Blank Cells?

I'm migrating data from Financisto for Android to CashTrails for iOS, and I need to format my CSV file a specific way for conversion to a CashTrails file.

I'd like to do the following in Excel 2013 (I have access to other versions if I need to):

1. Highlight a range of cells (i.e. A1-H20)

2. Apply following action: IF cell has data, add " to beginning of cell and " to end of cell, AND IF cell has no data, place "" in cell.

This can be done, right? I'm desperate!

It would look like this in Notepad.
Before:
Date,Time,Amount,Category,Tags,Account
12/31/13,12:00 PM,$3.99,General,,Checking
12/31/13,12:30 PM,$5.00,Shopping,gift,Cash

After:
