Rename Embedded Active Chart Sheet Name

Jan 17, 2008

For example, a cell on the screen is blank. When the page is printed, the "blank cell" has printed text.

I checked "format cells" and it shows word wrap, merge cells, and left to right.

I was told to "un-merge" the cells. I did that and I still have the problem.

The color on all the cells is OK at a blue shade. When I look at print preview the cells are blank, but when the sheet is printed, the text shows.

Also, it looks like there are 2-3 cells inside the main cell.

I hope I have explained this properly, it is not easy to use the correct language to describe since I am not very good at using Excel.

Copy Cell Value Into Worksheet Chart Titles

Sep 12, 2008

I work with several graphs in three Worksheets in a Spreadsheet.
I want to use text value 'Home Run', say, from Worksheet#1 CELL $A$5 into my Excel Graph Title;
text value 'Score' as Y-Axis titile;
text value 'Player Name' for X-Axis title.

Can it be done with Macro or VBS?

Attributes of Title are:

Font 14, BOLD
Times Roman
Automatic Resizing to sencond line if Title is long (but, less than 127 characters).

Hide Text Box On Embedded Chart

Mar 27, 2008

I have a workbook with two worksheets. On the second worksheet I have placed a chart, in which several shapes (text boxes) have been added manually. With the help of a TickBox in a UserForm on the first worksheet one can hide / unhide one of those shapes (on the second worksheet). By using the Macro recorder I finally came to this code fragment:

Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Worksheets("Second One").ChartObjects("Chart 41").Activate
ActiveChart.Shapes("Text Box 4").Visible = False
Worksheets("First One").Activate
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

Obviously another part of the code is used to make the shape visible again. roblem: The screen flickers. And I want to be able to do this without flickering. Searching Ozgrid revealed that the use of "Activate" makes the screen flicker. Hence, my question: How can I hide / unhide a shape (textbox) in a chart on another worksheet without of using "activate"? r: Any other way to hide / unhide a shape (textbox) in a chart on another worksheet without flicker?

Moving Embedded Chart Series Via Mouse

Apr 2, 2007

I have an embedded chart with a data series and a horizontal line that changes position (y-intercept) by values entered into a textbox. To make the process more user friendly, I would like to allow the user to select this horizontal line and reposition it inside the chart with the mouse. The new y-intercept of the line should then be displayable (textbox, cell, whatever). From what I have read on Peltier's site, I will definitely need to write a new class. Classes in VBA is not something I am particularly familiar with..

Identify Correct Embedded Chart With VBA Macro

Where/how do I get that? (For example, in the VBA Project Explorer window the only listed objects are sheets. Is there an object explorer with a chart list?)

Automate Multiple Copies Of Worksheet And Titles Of Each Sheet?

Aug 6, 2014

I'm looking to automate the process of repeating an excel worksheet (which is set up with various tables and formulas) for various countries.

I have a referenced list of countries set up in worksheet 1. So for example: in worksheet 2 I have a sheet set up for Albania - and I want to repeat this for another 100 countries. . Can I use the reference list of countries to auto-repeat worksheet 2 for worksheets 3 - 102 and auto-title the worksheet tabs? (E.g. Brazil, Canada, Chile..............)

Excel 2007 :: Transferring Columns With Same Titles To Another Sheet Automatically?

Aug 18, 2014

Excel (2007) user however I'm not very well versed with VBAs and Macros.

I have three sheets and on each sheet the first 5 columns (A - E) have the same title (all in row 1, frozen top row and with filters) there are other columns but I only need A -E to auto transfer.

Sheet 1 is named "Total"

Sheet 2 is named "Management Referral"

Sheet 3 is named "Health Assessments"

What I'd like is for any entry that goes into any row in both sheet 2 and 3 to automatically transfer to sheet 1, but only the information from columns A - E.

There will be dates (dd/mm/yyyy) in column A in each sheet and when transferred to sheet 1 they must be listed chronologically oldest to newest.

I also need all the information in columns A - E that transfer to sheet 1 to stay in their respective sheets.

Create Array Of File Names/sheet Names

May 1, 2008

Two part question:

1) I'm relatively new to arrays, but what I need to do is generate a list of file names and the sheets within each one. I would like to use an array for this, but since I don't have much experience.... well....that's why I'm here. Can someone point me in the right direction?

2) And the second part of this.... I was planning on using the FileSystemObject to determine the files in a selected folder and loop through that list of files, opening each one and harvesting the required info (file name and all sheet names). Should I use the FSO or is there something built into Excel that might be better (and also limit the number of dependencies for this little "project" of mine).

Change Multiple Chart Names

Jun 27, 2008

I'm making a template that will title my charts, and I want to cycle through all the charts and apply names to them (the names for each chart will be stored in a particular cell...). I recorded a macro to see how to access a particular chart, so I clicked record, selected a chart, then selected the next chart. Excel tells me that what I did was

ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 1027").Activate
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 1033").Activate

I want to give the charts meaningful, sequenced names so that I can cycle through them in VBA, so my question is: how do I access/change "chart 1027" and "chart1033?"

Chart Data Series Refer To Defined Names

Jan 15, 2014

I'm trying to use some defined names to create charts. Though it works at the very begin, some extremely weird things happen when I try to develop further .....

Attached please find the test file, which simplifies my real case but shows the same problem.

Test.xlsx

In the test file, three names are defined as below:

Line1: "=Xvalue*1"
Line2: "=Xvalue*2"
Xvalue: "=ROW(SampleChart!$A$1:$A$25)"

the chart is very sample: "=SERIES(,Test.xlsx!Xvalue,Test.xlsx!Line1,1)"

So far, it works very well. However, I just simply can't add the second line into the chart, for example, "=SERIES(,Test.xlsx!Xvalue,Test.xlsx!Line2,2)"

I canNOT even change "Line1" to "Line2" in the "SERIES" formula!

Copying Sheet Names And Cell Data Into New Overview Sheet

Mar 21, 2013

I have workbook that has several sheets within the workbook that are set up identical. Each of the sheets in the workbook are for a specific company.

As of right now I have been adding a sheet to the workbook that is an overview for what is in each sheet (the individual companies). Currently I am doing the formatting of the heading and column names manually and I pull the data from each sheet with a VLookup. I have been trying to enhance my VBA skills with coding something that will fill in the appropriate cells from worksheet to worksheet.

What I am trying to do is to populate an overview sheet with cells C24, C25, and B36 being static on each row per sheet. Then each row will be populated with cells C(36, 59, 70, 81), D(36, 59, 70, 81), F(36, 59, 70, 81), G, and H(36, 59, 70, 81). The overview sheet will have the diagram below in a ru
