Excel 2010 :: Highlight Active Row - Change Default Border And Fill?

Using Excel 2010. Is it possible to change the default line thickness and fill color when selecting the ActiveSheet Target Row below?

I would like a thin border and a light grey fill - without interfering with any fomatting or conditional formatting that has been applied to the worksheet.

BORDER Around Active Cell

I have a spreadsheet with DDE formulas in the cells. When the contents of any cell changes I want to DRAW A BORDER (NOT CHANGE THE BACKGROUND COLOR !!) AROUND THE CELL .. When another cell's value is updated I want to REMOVE the border which was around the"OLD" cell and now place a border around the most recently changed cell, etc.

Only the newest active cell should have a border around it !!!

I am using this formula (Below) and it is working great. Only problem is that I want the client name to be be bold and font size 12, then I want it to highlight in Red. I also want the rows in colunm L to highlight in bright green.

Background Color And Border Around Macro

I am trying to develop an Excel spread- sheet by using some macros. In detail, in my first worksheet, I have something like -

Exp1 ....
Exp2 ....
Exp3 ....
:
:
:
Expn ....

This rows are coming from another worksheet and I have used a macro (developed by me) to populate these rows. Even the number of rows to be populated is not fixed.
However, I would like to add one row with text - " Total Expense" after those rows. This row will have some background color - say Tan - and font color - say Green - and also a border around its own - in nature, the border will be thick, Double and with color Rose. I have tried the following code in macro but not working properly -

Excel 2003 :: Highlight Cell On Same Row As Active.cell Whenever Active.cell Changes

whenever the active cell is within a given range, highlight the cell on the same row in column S (by changing its interior colour). This should occur each time the active cell is changed, whether by cursor keys or mouse. The effect would be similar to the row and column highlights at left and top of the worksheet.

This action should be restricted to one sheet in the workbook.

It's for Excel 2003.

I have an existing table with data that is updated daily ... more rows are added. Currently, the cell border is black. I would like to run a macro such that the column header is shaded grey and the borders turn into a shade of gray. I am interested in the 35% grey.

Is it possible to have a specified shading (say 50%) applied to all rows except the currently picked row and the header rows to allow a user to focus on inputting across the row? I'd use this in conjunction with " Move Selection After Enter" to "Right" so the user would stay on the same row. I've tried the Help function, but can't find anything.

Temporary Highlight Row Of Active Cell

When looking at a spreadsheet with many columns, it would be nice of the row of the cell I have selected would remain highlighted in yellow, so that as I scroll across rows it's easy to view the data associated with the selected cell. Of course, if I select another cell, I would want the highlighting to change to THAT row. I'm guessing this would have to be in a this.workbook change event.

When I open any spreadsheet (new or already populated) the black box that normally frames the active cell is missing (showing which cell you have selected). Likewise when I 'select all' the sheet does not become shaded.

In addition:

Cannot fill series
Cannot change cell format (specifically to show Currency or Accounting w/$ symbol)

Highlighting The Active Cell After A Highlight

I have a cover sheet to a workbook that holds hyperlinks to its relevent page. Several of the hyperlinks link to the same page but different relevant cells. However it is not overly clear which cell is active when you click the hyperlink. What I would like is for the active cell to be highlighted on the page. EG hyperlink 1 links to page 1 cell A2 & hyperlink 2 links to page 1 cell B6 - I would like A2 to be highlighted when accessed by hyperlink 1 & B6 highlighted when accessed by hyperlink 2.

I want to test subtract the value in b1 from the value in a1

if the answer is equal to or greater than 0 I want to colour the cell green.

if the answer is equal -2 I want to colour the cell yellow.

if the answer is less than -2 I want to colour the cell red.

My boss wants a spreadsheet that has multiple buttons on it that will change the background color of a specific cell to four different colors. Example:

Text written in Cell B3, Button in Cell A3 that will change the Background color of Cell B3 to either Green, Yellow, Red or Blue.

There will be a lot of buttons on this worksheet following the same format as above. I don't want to change the value of what is in the cell, just the background color.

My Excel skills are basic at best, with no knowledge of VBA other than finding the VB Editor. What I'm trying to do: Attached is the file I'm working with, to give you a better idea. When a name is selected in column B, the cells in the non corresponding columns E to N should have a black background color. For example, when you select Mike in column B, the cells in that row in columns I to N, named Dave and Dean, should become black. If you select the name Dave, columns E to H (Mike) and M to N (Dean) should become black. In addition, the background color of the non-black cells should change depending on the status.

OK : green
FAIL: red
N/A: orange
Exceptions: blue

The attached file shows a few possible results, manually entered.

Making A Cell Change Background Color Based On If Positive Or Negative Sum Total

I have excel sheet with colored cells.

Positive cash flow cells all have green background,
Negative cash flow cells, all have red background.

I calculate all the "sub- total" columns into one "total sum" cell. Based on this "total sum" I want the cell background to be red if the total sum is negative, or green if total sum is positive. How do I make the cell change to the proper background color based on whether it's a negative or postive total sum?
