Concatenate Function It Appears To Put Quotes Around The Entire Result

Feb 13, 2008

The above statement works great, but when I try to replace the HQA01 (worksheet name) with a cell reference it doesn't work anymore. I want to point to the cell that has that name of the sheet in it rather than hardcode each sheet name.

When I try the &, or the concatenate function it appears to put quotes around the entire result

Macro: Concatenate Text, Variable & Double Quotes

Nov 23, 2006

I need to write a line of code which puts the following into a cell:

=+C4 & " - " & 1

The cell reference at the beginning will always be C4, however the "1" at the end will be variable named "GroupNo"

So my code will be something like:

Range("B46").Value = "=+$C$4 & " & "" - "" & "GroupNo"

This isn't working. I've tried every variation of what it should be but I keep getting errors like "type mismatch" or just the wrong thing being put in the cell.

VBA Deleting Entire Row When Certain Word Appears?

Dec 12, 2012

I currently have the following code that works great and deletes the row from my spreadsheet when the word "vacant" appears in column F.

Sub test()
Dim r As Range
With ActiveSheet[code]....

The problem is, "Vacant" also sometimes appears in column G. So, as this code is now it is finding the word "Vacant" in either column F or column G and then deleting the row.

How can I write the code so that it only deletes the row where "Vacant" appears in column F but ignores it when it is in column G?

Macro To Delete An Entire Row If A Duplicate Entry Appears Only In A Certain Column.

Feb 20, 2009

Is there a macro to delete an entire row if a duplicate entry appears only in a certain column.

1. Look for the column header with the name "File Number"
2. Anytime the same number under the "File Number" column appears more than once in that column, keep the row that contains first occurrence of that number buy delete the entire row anytime that number is repeated in another row in that same column.

This is regardless of what is contained in the other columns. For example..let's say these cells contained this data...

B1 - UTE00225
B2 - UTE00546
B3 - UTE65513
B4 - UTE00225
B5 - UTE00225

In this case, I would want to keep rows 1, 2, and 3. But, I would want to delete rows 4 & 5 because the number "UTE00225" has already appeared first in B1. I'm using Excel 2003.

Counting Number Of Times Specific Month Appears In Entire Column?

Aug 22, 2014

I am trying to create a graph that is conditional on two different columns. The first column is a date column, the second column has various categories. I want to show how many times each category appears per month. This database is continually added to so I wanted the formula to reflect the entire column range.

For example, let say I have 5 categories (Grapes, Apples, Peach, Pear, Banana). Column A would show a date (in a M/D/Y format) and Column B would list the fruit type. I want to show how many Grapes were input in January, February, March, etc. and then move on to show how many apples in each month, and so on.

Using INDIRECT Function With Double Quotes?

Aug 1, 2013

how to use the indirect function to pull data from a pivot table. This is the formula I am trying to recreate: =GETPIVOTDATA("sum of BOE",$A$14,"CLASS","PROVED","Years",2013)

I can't seem to get the indirect function to work properly with the words in double quotes, such as "PROVED". How do I format that part of the formula properly?

This is as far as I can get. =GETPIVOTDATA("sum of BOE",INDIRECT($M13),"CLASS","PROVED","Years",$N13) $M13 refers to $A$14 and $N13 refers to 2013

Found Value In Quotes Not Matching Cell Value Without Quotes - VBA Excel

Feb 11, 2013

Attempting to match acct #s on source sheet with account numbers on Template but the numbers on the source are = to the cell value while the numbers on the template are equal to finding the source cell value in the template. Let me explain with code.

Set Source value:

Set FirstIO = zfir.Range("e8")
Set Template value:

Set CheckIO = Range("Accounts").Find(IO, LookIn:=xlValues)
When I get here:

If FirstIO = CheckIO.Value Then
I get a mismatch because
FirstIO = 3333333 and CheckIO = "3333333"

How do I make these 2 values Match?

Copy Text, With Quotes, Without Quotes

Nov 21, 2006

I'm trying to set up a macro to be assigned to a button to copy the text in a cell into an application which uses similar text capabilities to Notepad.

The simple macro of:

... results in the text of the cell being copied to the clipboard with quotation marks before and after the text. I can manually enter the cell, select the text, the copy it... but this process can not be recorded in a macro - I can edit the cell and copy the text but when leaving the cell it gives the error "unable to record".

Is there any way I can copy the text to the clipboard without getting these quotes?

Trying To Insert Nested Concatenate Function In VBA

Nov 7, 2012

I am trying to concatenate the text of a few cells in a specific worksheet. I'm not wanting to use the STRING & STRING type code because I already had a Concatenate formula nested with an index formula and needed to have this formula copied to a certain RANGE, Where the RANGE was specified by a Variable. T

he Code below does what I need if the CONCATENATE/INDEX formula is in the cell that im copying already. (BELOW) The Formula in the cell, for example, on row 19 of worksheet "COMMISSION", that needs to be copied and incremented down the VARIABLE RANGE is

Dim iInput_Rows As Integer
iInput_Rows = Worksheets("Workspace").Range("D3").Value
Dim iOutput_Rows As Integer
iOutput_Rows = Worksheets("Workspace").Range("D1").Value
Dim iAnalog_Rows As Integer

[Code] ....

My problem is when I use the following code to insert that concatenate/index formula, through vba, then I get errors because it evidently doesnt like the " " for the space i needed between texts. (The Formula is concatenating text in those cells but every other Row) Can I do this in VBA?

Worksheets("COMMISSION").Range("B19 + iOutputs_Rows").Formula = "=CONCATENATE(INDEX(OUTPUTS!J:J,(ROW(OUTPUTS!J2)-1)*2+1)," ",INDEX(OUTPUTS!K:K,(ROW(OUTPUTS!K2)-1)*2+1))"

Concatenate Formula With If And Text Function?

May 20, 2014

I have a time in cell C10 in hh:mm format, in cell D10 I want to add the text "DFL" in front of the time, remove the ":" and add "HRS." at the end of it. For example "DFL0715HRS." I have been able to get the following formula to work:

However sometimes it may not be a time, it could also be "Rest Day" in cell C10, if it says "Rest Day" I need it to add the text "DFL" in front as before and then change "Rest Day" to "RDFLEXI." For example "DFLRDFLEXI." I have been able to get the following formula to work but only if it is "Rest Day", if it is a time such as 07:15 it doesn't work.

It shows "DFL07157R0.": =CONCATENATE("DFL",IF(C10="Rest Day","RDFLEXI.",(TEXT(C10,"hhmm"&"HRS."))))

I think it is trying to continue doing something with the text function

Im not sure how I will do this I was thinking that the formula looks at the largest value and adds 1 so that there are no duplicate numbers added to the first letter of the product type. E.g. the first mother board added will be "M1" the next will be "M2" as the formula has found that M1 exists and has added 1.

Excel VBA - Use Concatenate Function To Show A Value

Jul 12, 2013

Possible to use concatenate function to enter a formula to a cell and have the cell show the result?

I enter the following in a cell:

=CONCATENATE("=LEN(""",A2,"""",")") 'A2 contains the string "Exchange rate: 925"

what is shown in the cell is:

=LEN("Exchange rate: 925")

If I manually enter the above len function in the next cell, the cell displays 18.

Is it possible to use the concatenate function, maybe combine with other functions, to display 18 in a cell?
