Jun 18, 2008I would simply like a Macro to 'find' or search keyword data in a spreadsheet and copy the chosen rows and past them into a new excel sheet. I want to be able to do that as many time as I need, currently I have the following code, it does not seem to work well for me, I can only use it to search one time, cause an error after that

causes a runtime error 91 when there are no results. "Object variable or with block variable not set"
Ideally, when there are no results, I would like to enter a loop, where I could provide a drop down list of fuzzy matches, but I am not sure excel can do fuzzy matches. I'd settle for just highlighting the row and moving on... any help?

Jan 18, 2014I have a cell in workbook X on Sheet1 (cell AB3) that states which columns should be exported from workbook X on Sheet3 to a new workbook. The value of cell AB3 on Sheet1 changes based on what a user selects in some check boxes on Sheet1. I would like my macro to read the value of cell AB3 and interpret it is a range reference of which columns to copy from Sheet3 into a new workbook. The problem I'm having is knowing what line(s) of code I would use in VB to read cell AB3 as a range and what kind of referencing rules I need cell AB3 to contain. Right now this is what the cell looks like to the user:

For cell AB3 to look this way I'm just using some hard coded text, such as the sheet number and .Select, plus some concatenated values in between. Perhaps this text string needs to be modified, but I'm also wondering what I would use in my macro to reference the cell and read it as reference to which columns to select in Sheet3.

I need to know whether SomeString is somewhere in the active sheet or not (the workbook running the VBA-code is not the active sheet). I can't just compare the cell B1 because it contains multiple words. Any hints are very welcome.

Feb 19, 2008When recording a macro, how would I have it record me searching for a word in a cell, then select the two rows beneath it so that I can hide/unhide the hidden rows?
The reason it has to search for the word in the cell is that with changes above, the rows keep getting bumped further and further down (i.e., a moving target).

So here is another thought: As the title suggests, can one help me with code that would take the value in (say) Sheet1A1 (Say Harry) and use that value to search for a sheet with that name (Harry) in the same workbook and then link to that sheet, cell A1 (Harry!A1)?

The range can have the text in it multiple times but i only want the macro to fire the next line of it if the cell address also has that color. Is there a way that can be done? My code below stops after it finds its first occurrence of the string and moves on to the next lookup. How do i make it look for not only the value but the index color?

User enters 2222 on the input form. The code matches 2222 on the inventory sheet, moves the activecell 10 columns and updates a value in that cell. Cell A2343 is "2222" then Cell K2343 is changed to "WAREHOUSE 4". What is the best way to find the match and then select that cell in VBA?

I have a list of domain name extensions in workbook #2:

I want to determine if the cells in column A workbook one contain any of the strings in workbook 2 - note that I need to look at the string, not the entire cell in workbook one. If there is a match, true, if not, false for that cell within workbook one.
It's sort of a reverse array lookup with text. It seems that cross workbook and text is what causes the challenge.

Oct 18, 2013I have a client list in a table in my excel sheet. I currently enter the clients in a sheet that looks similar to a form. After the clients info is in this Form I have a button with a macro to copy the client info into a table on another sheet. This works perfectly.
Now I have another form that will retrieve the customers info in a click of a button in order to make changes to the client. Ei:I now have a second phone number and I want to update that client's info. What I want to do from here is take the info in Cell B2 (clients full Name), Do a vLookup in the "Saved Clients Table" in a Range within my table range. (Range: Saved Clients and the client's full name is in $A:$A and called "Clients Full Name" and once that name is found I need to select the cell in column C and the corresponding row.
This will allow me to copy the info in my form, Paste it in Transpose to the cell that is selected. (I already have that code)

However I have one button that takes you from the worksheet into the dashboard. The problem is if you had scrolled the dashboard around you may be put at your last place. I want the screen to jump to and center on R1C1
