Macro To F2 On A Cell And Enter

I am in need of an excel macro that will be able to let me F2 (edit cell) and then with whatever is in the cell (variable)-- press enter, repeat for a whole column of data.. I'm new to code-writing, so probably not complex..just not sure and any suggestions would be helpful. I will be receiving a data set and need to compare it to another data set, and they are not appearing identical because in one dataset the data has an enter afterwards, and not in the other.

Is there a way a person can enter the active cell and have the cursor go to the upper left part of the cell and enter the current date and remain in that cell for additional data? More often than not there will already be data in the cell but sometimes it will be blank.

Enter Formula To Cell With Macro

I am trying to make a very simple macro, that when it is run, it inserts a formula into the selected cell. But I am having problems with quotation marks etc... As it doesn't understand the 3rd and beyond quotation marks.

Sub Macro()
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=IF(A1<3000,"Small", "Large")"
End Sub

I'm sure there may is a way of coding it in VBA properly, but I plan to use this method for a range of basic formulas. The idea is this is saved in the Personal Macro Book so I can start a column of formulas by running a Macro rather than typing it in (the example above is a simplified formula, the actual one is fairly long) - then it can just be dragged down on every Workbook I need it in.

I am trying to write a macro which will get values from column B and C and print the result on column D using a simple function like the one before:

D2 = "text" & B2 & "text2" & C2 & "text3"

I need this to be done in the macro, so that when I click the button, it will automatically create column D. Column B is formula and column C is constants.

I really know nothing about vba so here goes. I would like to enter data in a row with 4 cells of info. then hit enter and return to the first cell and move the row down. all four cells must have data entered. and all four must move down. i tried some code as below i found and i modified but it did not work as expected. this moved the row down when returning the cursor to A2. It also should not copy the data style of the top row.

I tried to record a macro to copy a shape and put it into the spreadsheet, but the shape does not copy.

How do I get the shape to copy into the spreadsheet?

Macro - Enter Data In Next Clear Row After Every Run

I have a macro that

- copies rows from one sheet into another sheet based on a set of criteria
- the very very very first time the macro is run, the first row of data should be put into row 7 (formatting reasons)
- however, every other time it's run it should paste into the next clear row.

But, what is happening is that, each time its run, it puts the data into row 7 => overwriting data.

I've used the offset and counter function but perhaps I need to put it in the header of the code to get it working?

I need to enter the Emp Nbr in B1.
AM in Time in B3
AM out Time in B4
PM in Time in B7

When I enter an new number, I want it to put 0 in B3,B4,B7 and B8

I am creating a macro that will take some information from 3 cells that the user will input, place it into 3 different cells, clear the original 3 cells and then I would like the macro to, when next activated input the new information from the 3 cells below the information that was already in the table.

For Example,
Date (D3), Description (E3, F3, G3 Merged cell) and Reference (H3)

I would then like those 3 cells to be put into A9:E9 then clear the original cells. That is not the part that I have the problem well, the following however, is.

After I enter new information into the input cells, and press the macro button, I would like the information to be placed into A10:E10 and from then on, the information goes down by 1 row after each macro.

Sum Macro With IF Formula - Enter Correct Value Into Column

I want to create a Macro that uses IF statements to enter the CORRECT VALUE into COLUMN β€œQ” in the ACTIVE WORKSHEET. I am providing an example of what the data set looks like at the very bottom of this post. I want to use a Macro as oppose to Formula in the worksheet because I want to turn the Macro into an Excel Add-In.

I want the Macro to do the following THREE THINGS:

1. IF the Value in COLUMN L is β€œ0” THEN enter β€œn/a” into COLUMN β€œQ”
2. IF the Value in COLUMN L is β€œ2” THEN enter β€œn/a” into COLUMN β€œQ”
3. IF the Value in COLUMN L is β€œ1” THEN use a formula that looks like this:

= O8 + ( ( O8 / P8 ) * (First SUM the HOURS in COLUMN O for all the ROWS that have the SAME VALUES in COLUMN C and H and a β€œ2” in COLUMN L and then MULTIPLY that Result against those rows with a β€œ1” in COLUMN L whose COLUMNS C and H values match up exactly with those of the Summed Hours). The RESULT of the FORMULA would be entered into COLUMN β€œQ”. Once you look at the example at the bottom of this post it will definitely start making sense. I highlighted rows 8 – 11 for you in red in the data set at the bottom of this post just to center the attention on the rows I am talking about.

Here is an example of how the formula will work:

I will use ROW 8 from the data set below as an example. From the dataset I know CELL O8 equals 10 and CELL P8 equals 76. Now I will SUM the HOURS in COLUMN O ROWS 10 and 11 for ALL ROWS that have the SAME VALUES in COLUMN C and H in this case the values are β€œTimes” and β€œPM” and contain a β€œ2” in COLUMN L which happens to equal 3, then that 3 should only apply to those rows with a β€œ1” in COLUMN L whose COLUMNS C and H values match up exactly with those of the Summed Hours. So now I plug that into the formula: =10+((10/76)*(3)) and MY RESULT which will go into COLUMN β€œQ” IS 10.395.

I have two buttons in my excel ("Fund Set up" & "Broker Set up") sheet1. so what i need is when i click the button named as "Fund set up" a input box should appear as "Enter the volume" and the user has to input the volume..For ex, user has entered the volume as 2. After that a line of data should be populated automatically from col A2 to col E2 as below.

Similarly if i click the "Broker set up" button the same action should happen but the activity should be populated as "Broker set up".

Macro To Open Protected Workbooks Prompting To Enter Password?

I am having an issue with a macro to open password protected workbooks. The macro works just fine in opening the files and whatnot, but for some reason it prompts me to enter the password again once the file has been opened. Funny thing is I can either hit OK or hit Cancel and it goes to the next file. All files open correctly, I was just curious as to why this is happening and how to correct it?
