View 9 RepliesI'm looking to password protect the sheets in my workbook (using vba) but I can't seem to join this up with allowing users to edit scenarios.
If I record the protection I get this:
Code:
ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=False, Contents:=True, Scenarios:= _
False
I normally use:
Code:
ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:="password"
I just need to combine the two. Adding the password before 'DrawingObjects' or at the end doesn't seem to work.
I have 5 sheets in my work book.
Sheet Names:
1) PasswordPage - - I would like this to be the page where a user needs to type in their password. If it is correct, their own worksheet would display.
2) Sally - - Hidden and protected, unless Sally types in correct password. Sally's password would be Summer
3) Vanessa - - Hidden and protected, unless Vanessa types in correct password. Vanessa's password would be Pluto
4) George - - Hidden and protected, unless George types in correct password. George's password would be Carpet
5) Alexander - - Hidden and protected, unless Alexander types in correct password. Alexander's password would be Lampost
I would like to ensure that noone else see's anyone else's sheet unless they know the appropriate password, as each individual sheet contains sensitive information.
I also plan to "protect" each sheet also, so that the Sally, Vanessa, George and Alexander cannot make changes to the formulas, etc. - - this I already know how to do.
My question relates more to, How do I hide/ password protect each sheet as outlined above? I assume I must use visual basic, however I am not very familar with it.
Which works really well, unless when the password box comes up you click cancel. if you do it just allows you to go into the worksheet anyway.

It needs to be an easy way to do it as senior managers are going to be using the spreedsheet and they wil only want to enter a password to have the sheet appear in front of them!!
I have seen a thread posted before about a macro that can be used to set password for each tab. The trouble is I have no idea how to get it to work !! Can any body help me as my VB knowledge is extremely limited!!
Is there a way to unprotect a workbook and/or worksheet in Excel 2002/2003 if
the original password is forgotten?
I would like to adjust the code found in the attached thread so that i can allow one person access to more than 1 sheet
Password Protect Viewing of Individual Worksheets?
I have a file w/ individuals monthly sales information (per worksheet) that needs to be distributed in one mass email to the entire sales force. I want everyone to have access to the "Summary" tab, but individuals should only have access to their own "Details" tab. I know there has to be a way to accomplish via VBA. However, I'm not proficient in writing code.

I figured that I could get around this by copying the worksheets to another workbook, but I can't even do that. Naturally, no one remembers what the password is.
I have a spreadsheet, which has certain worksheets that are password protected. I need to make changes to some of the formulas, and the VBA modules, however I cannot remember the password!! Is there a way of identifying the password??

I found this code below but not sure how to use it. I would like to be able to run it from a command button.
Sub MPW()
Dim My Password
My Password = InputBox("Please enter password", "Password Prompt", "********")
'Hardcode password
If MyPassword = "password" Then
MsgBox "Access Granted", vbInformation, "Access"
'call macro
Exit Sub

I want to make a user form that works as a password box. I have UserForm1 which is my "Menu" and I created UserForm2, which is my password entry form. The problem I have is that once I click "go" on my password box (which works fine), the Password Box closes but the user form remains open. I want the user form to close as well when I click "Go". So, my password box should close both UserForm1 and UserForm2.
Here is my code:
Private Sub cmdPasswordGo_Click()
Dim UserName, Password As String
UserName = txtUserName.Text
Password = txtPassword.Text
If UserName = "Chad" And Password = "Pass01" Then
Unload Me
Else: MsgBox "Your authentication cannot be validated"
End If
End Sub
My issue is that once UserForm2 is "unloaded", UserForm 1 is "active" but I cannot simply "Unload Me" again, I get an error.
I have a master spreadsheet that list several columns about employees(name, date, event name, etc.). Then I have an indivdual sheet for each employee. I am trying to import the column information for each employee onto their individual sheet based on their name. It is possible to import the individuals data from the master sheet to the individual sheet based on the employee name?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a sheet that is password protected. I have this code attached to a command button. It will unlock the worksheet, autofilter it, print it, unfilter it, and password protect the sheet again. However it is protecting it without a password. I need to have it protected with the password so that someone will not be able to just go to tools to unprotect the sheet.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "rainforest"
Columns("O:O").Select
Selection.AutoFilter
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:=">0", Operator:=xlAnd
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, Collate:=True
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1
Selection.AutoFilter
ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True _
, AllowSorting:=True, AllowFiltering:=True
End Sub
I need a macro that will take each worksheet in my file & create a new workbook for each. The new workbook name will need to be the original worksheet name. The number of worksheets & the worksheet names will very each time I run this code.
I have a workbook with roughly 28 tabs(sheets) and i need to be able to run a macro that will create a new sheet for each tab and name it based on the tab name.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy current project involves sorting a spreadsheet, selecting specific qualifying data from the sheet, storing it into a variable, the pasting the individual values from the list into individual cells on a different sheet within the same workbook. Here is the code I have so far...
Code:
Sub Test()
'' freeze screen updating to remain on main worksheet
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
'' move to Avaliable worksheet
[Code] ..
When this code runs the first item in the list pastes into Sheet10 A1, but no other values from the list are placed into Sheet10. Previous to this I had been using a variation of this code to push the list into a combobox list within a userform. In that case instead of
Code:
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Sheet10").Range("A1") = x
I had
Code:
Combobox1.list = x
And this worked perfectly; creating a list within the combobox (in fact I can use this modification to interrogate my code to determine if the list is being properly generated, and it is).
I have a workbook which consists of difference worksheets that downloaded from the system, e.g Jac01, JKen01 and so on. the worksheets' name might varies and from month to month basis. Therefore, just wondering is that a fast way to save the individual sheet as a separate workbooks. The rational of saving the worksheets into individual workbook is mainly for the individual division manager to study their respective product sales.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow is code or functions kept unique to a workbook? for instance i create a few toolbars that are relevant to "work book 1", however when i open another workbook "2" the toolbars do not function properly or are removed by the opening/closing of the work book, similarly other macros seem to struggle with more than one workbbok open at a time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet that is being updated every month with new project information. The spreadsheet is a log of all the hours worked by employees on each project. Due to many employees working on the same projects and each weekly log per engineer having an individual row to display these hours, there are many duplicated cells.
I am wondering if there is a way for me to display in another table, just a list of the projects that exist.
For example, the original table may look something like this:
WEEK MONTH PROJECT HOURS
1 Jan A 5
1 Jan B 4
1 Jan A 7
5 Feb C 5
5 Feb C 3
5 Feb B 8
I would like to display a table that looks like:
PROJECTS
A
B
C
In March there could be a project D and I would like that to be automatically added on to the second table, if possible?
I have a workbook with a large number of worksheets in it. I intend putting the workbook onto a shared network drive so that a number of users can go into their individual named sheet - check some data and confirm that they have checked it.
My initial idea is to attach a command button to each individual sheet so that each user can click on the button to confirm that they have checked their data. What I would like to do is hide a worksheet within the workbook and when each user has checked their data - their button click will insert a tick in the relevant cell of the hidden worksheet e.g.
When User 1 clicks command button on User 1 sheet it will insert a tick in cell B2 of the hidden sheet
When User 2 clicks command button on User 2 sheet it will insert a tick in cell B3 of the hidden sheet
I have the day of the week in B1 Emp Nbr in B2 Hours worked on B11
What I need a macro to do is match B1(day of the week) with the corresponding offset column in F1-R1, Pos and Post the Emp NBR(b2) and Hours(b12) in the corresponding column (F4 and G4)
I then will key in a new Emp and the hours and click the macro to execute the move over to the correct column and down one row.
Do this until I post Emp 999 at which time it will exit the macroOzgrid weekly hours.xlsx
The next day I will change the day in B1 to 2, corresponding to TUE, and it will move over to the correct column (H4 and I4) and post the daily data until I key in EMP 999
Then continue for the rest of the week.
Every month I need to consolidate the individual report in a single sheet for that I was doing with copy paste options but I need this to happen through macro or some other short way.

With the above data, I'd like put all of the data for each respective dept on it's own sheet. Obviously I have many rows of data and departments so manually would be almost impossible.
I have multiple sheets on which users enter data in Cells B3 to B21 on each sheet.
I have a master sheet where the information entered on individual sheets is copied by links. On the master sheet the information is displayed in Rows. Thus data on Sheet1 B5:B25 is displayed in Row 6 cells H6:Z6 of Master Sheet, data on Sheet2 is displayed in Row 7 cells H7:Z7 etc. The formula in H6 of the Master Sheet is =Sheet1!B5, in H7 it is =Sheet2!B5 etc. It is of course not possible to use Autofill to copy formulas across on the Master sheet. It can be done manually but there are hundreds of cells to fill.
Is there an elegant way to copy the formulae on individual sheets onto the Master Sheet.
I want to be able to repeat the procedure later if additional sheets need to be added.
In an excel sheet, i have columns as below:
Column: A B C D
Values assigned & Formula Used : 1 2 3 (A+B+C)
There are lots of cells, where i used various formulas that includes the value of Column D as specified above.
Example:
In Column E as "D*3" or Column Z as "D-E".
Now, i want to trace in the whole excel sheet, where i used column D in Formulas, i put through.
How to come up with solution for preparing monthly time sheet for each employee from master sheet automatically by entering details in master sheet (Master sheet is all employees attendance sheet).
Just by entering data in master sheet it need to copy data to individual employee sheet. If I enter new employee name in master sheet can it creates one new sheet with same format by itself?
Data are
Project, Emp Name, Position, Date, Day, Time In, Time out, Overtime or under time (if any)
I have total 30 employees and it is increasing day by day
I got a workbook with one active sheet. There are 6 colums and 55 rows. I want to creat a macro or formula to automatically print each individual row on a single sheet of paper. i will only need the line with a specific value printed i.e only print value more then 5
View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a way to unprotect a sheet. The person who created this spreadsheet no longer works for our company and although we can see the spreadsheet, the formulas are hidden so we can't figure out where the data is being pulled in from. Any ideas?
