Making Chart With X / Y And Z Axis?

View 9 RepliesI have a spreadsheet with golfers handicaps, golfers names down the left in column A in rows 3-35. Row 2 has the event numbers titles 1 to 18 (18 events in a year). i need a graph that has the person as the vert axis and the horizontal axis needs to be the event numbers, so i can read down for the person and across to see how there handicaps change from each different event. i have attached the data below.

1. I need to add a rank axis derived from my data column (C6-C15). This column should rank from highest to lowest and create a tie if any number is repeated. I have arranged the rank column in cells B38:L38 as they would appear. I would like this to appear on the top or bottom of the bar graphs.
2. Second I need to add the frequency of hits which = 3 derived from cell J1 This should appear on the chart were it is currently titled. This should create another bar graph colored green and labeled 3.
3. Lastly the numbers axis can remain the same as it appears on the chart or if it would be better to align as shown in cells B43:L43.
What is the best way to have both horizontal and vertical axis as value axis?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a spreadsheet for anaesthesia monitoring. I have a table that calculates the time every 5 minutes (i.e. start time + 5 mins) for 3.5 hours and columns for heart rate, respiratory rate and drugs which is then plotted on a scatter graph. I've forced the major x-axis major unit to be 5 minutes.
Everything works fine for the first few values (1.JPG) then after 24 values it decides it wants to go crazy with the x-axis and display 24 hours (2.jpg) making everything unreadable. I would set the minimum manually but it obviously that will change depending on when the case starts. I can upload the file but it has some macros for other sections.
How can I add missing values to the axis in a pivot chart line chart? I have a numerical X-axis with values such as 0,1,5,8,14, etc. I have another set of Y values that correspond to the X values. If this was an XY-scatter plot I'd be able to plot X vs. Y and connect the dots for "gaps" in the X values. Since it's a pivot chart I cannot use an XY-scatter plot, I can only use a line chart. The line chart doesn't give me the ability to add the "missing" values, so it gives the impression that my data is more closely packed than it is. The data source is external to my spreadsheet, so I cannot add the values before creating the pivot table/chart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a chart with 3 data series. The series are located in columns A, B and C respectively. Series I is a general number anywhere from 0 to 100,000. Series 2 is also a number, but is is devided by series 1. So, if series 1 was 100,000 then series two would be 25,000/100,000 which is 0.25. Series three will always be numerator of series 2 or 25,000 in this example. The numerator, or the 25,000 will never change, so, in my example, series three will be a straight line across the chart because it is always 25,000.
In my example, the .25 is plotted on the left value axes, and series one is plotted on the right value acccess (secondary axis). Series three is just a line in the middle.
My problem is that sometimes the line, series 3, doesn't match the values in both the right and left values axes. So, if series one is 48,000, then series two would be 48,000/48,000 = 1, and series three would be 48000 - the straight line. The third series should be a line touching the 48,000 on the right and the number 1 on the left. It does touch the 48000 on the left, but is below the number 1 on the left.
I got a set of data which is only 2 colums collecting data problems. The output i get is a time stamp and a fault. Im looking to set a chart up with the time been on the X - axis and number of problems per hour on the Y - axis.

(See attached). I set up the chart and it looks fine but it has only one axis so in order to create a second axis i right click on the blue series (no of Stocks) and go through the motions of setting up a secondary axis. However when i do that it ends up looking like the chart to the right with the Bars Cojoined (which is not what i want) I cannot seem to achieve 2 axis with separated bars
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm trying to create a bar chart that contains required hours per week with a line of hours worked going across the bars, im struggling to make this work and have basically no experience of making any sort of charts or graphs.
I need to create this using vba but to begin with I cant even make the chart manually! Where its all going wrong is the column line for required hours is so thin it looks rubbish. Its a bar chart then I formatted the series of total hours to be a line chart.
I want to make a chart in Excel similar to a Stacked Horizontal Bar Chart, except I want to be able to have spaces in between the bars of each row. I want to be able to have the separate bars represent spans of time, and I don't want them all to have to necessarily connect to one another. I tried the Floating Bar Chart under the Custom Types tab, but that doesn't let me have more than one bar per line (as far as I can tell).

How to autoscale chart using VBA, so i can maximize the viewable area without using the default format axis on chart each time i paste new data to the table,
I have a simple piece of code that creates a chart using the the values in column A as the x-axis and the values in column E as the y-axis. The values in Column A are all dates in this format: mm.dd.yyyy. However, when I collect the x-values they always appear as numbers (1,2,3). Even if I format the axis to Dates, they appear as 1.00.1900, 1.02.1901, etc.
Here is the code (also, I would like a VBA solution but if this is with excel's chart tools, so be it).
Code:
Sub Macro2()
ActiveSheet.Shapes.addChart.Select
ActiveChart.ChartType = xlXYScatter
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection.NewSeries
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Name = "=""Rate of Productivity"""
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).XValues = "='Sheet1'!$A$2:$A$4"
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Values = "='Sheet1'!$E$2:$E$4"
End Sub
i want 0 values to start at x and y axis.
basically i want time in secs on x axis starting a 0 upto 4.4 secs

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a column chart/graph with "Days Past Due" on the x-axis and "Quantity" on the y-axis. In other words, data from one column needs to make up the x-axis and data from another the y-axis where the bars will rise to meet that quantity. I was wondering if this is possible. I have not been able to find a way to make it work so far. I know there is a way to do it for a line graph through XY scatter, but I need a column chart.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a quick way to create a number charts using data from multiple sheets.
I have 12 sheets Apr - Mar that contain data in identical format. I also have sheets 12 sheets Apr Charts - Mar Charts, I need to create a number of charts on each sheet for the relevant month. To avoid having to create a ridiculous number of charts, I thought I would try to dynamically change the chart data series based on a value in say cell A1.
For example if cell A1 of the Apr Charts sheet = Apr, the chart will show the data for Apr.
The idea is that I can copy the Apr Charts sheet the required number of times and replace the value in A1, and my charts will update dynamically. I need to have seperate sheets for each of the monthly charts.
I'm trying to make a chart (which will also be on the UserForm) from data that a user will enter onto a UserForm. The problem is that I am trying to select a data range as one of the charts 'series' but I can't quite find the right code. At the moment it looks like this:
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Values = Range(BMIM20Ttl, BMIM2025Ttl, BMIM2530Ttl, BMIM3040Ttl, BMIM40Ttl)
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Name = " Total"
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(2).Values = Range(BMIM2075, BMIM202575, ...
The problem is with the Range function.
Please see the attached workbook.
I would like to create a bar chart which is linked to a drop down box (from data validation) that allows me to choose of the 3 sets of data to show in the x axis.
So if i choose "HALF YEAR", the bar chart will have two bars (one is "jan-jul" the other is "jul-dec") with the green section data if i choose "QUARTER YEAR", the bar chart will have four bars ("jan-mar", "apr-jun", "jul-sep", "oct-dec") with the blue section data if i choose "INDIVIDUAL MONTHS" i have twelve bars....with the red section data.
I have excel file and need to create a chart with X axis to be scalable, by selecting (from drop down menu) - start and end dates.

1-Mar-09

There's the Major/Minor Units on the Axis Options screen but I cannot type in a constant number since the number of days for each month is different.
I created a bubble chart whose x-axis and y-axis show every 10th value between 0 and 100 (i.e. 0, 10, 20, 30...). The axes intersect at (50, 50) to create 4 quadrants.
I want to erase/hide the values on the axes (i.e. the axes will no longer show 0, 10, 20, 30... and at the same time, the bubbles will still be in the same place) to create 4 blank quadrants and make my bubble chart easier to look at.
The attached file has a scatter chart in which all of the data is properly displayed except the X axis. How can I get my X axis to reflect the data I have selected?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I added a x-y scatter series to a line chart (in order to add a vertical line to the chart) and now I'm having a problem with the x-axis. It lets me select the start and end date, but when I put it on auto is starts 1 day before the data does. For example, if my data starts on 5/1/2011, the x-axis starts on 4/1/2011 and the there is no data point at that date.
I could manually change this, but the data is dynamic so the start date changes. Since I can do formulas in the format axis tab (date+1).
Using the table, draw a stacked chart that has both the project name (A, B etc) and Month on the x-axis (below all the projects). the stacked chart should contain the count for cat1, cat2, cat3 and cat 4 for each project (in different but consistent numbers for each month).
