View 6 RepliesI have a column of prices, I would like to have check boxes in a column beside the prices so that I can check the boxes and that they give me the sum of the prices that are checked.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf I protect a sheet but tick the boxes to allow sorting and autofilter I still get an erro when I try to use the sort buttons on the autofilter.
It allows me to use the filters but as soon as I sort I get told to unprotect the cells im trying to sort.
Is there a way around this where I can keep formulas from being touched but allow sorting of data through autofilter?
I have some code which, which I have modified it to create check boxes for all rows of data, but when I run it, it begins to wipe out the data, and create an endless column of numbers and check boxes. Here is the code:
Sub SelectCell()
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Dim Z As Range
Set Z = Cells(1, 1).EntireColumn. Find("*", SearchDirection:=xlPrevious)
For i = 2 To Z
Range("A" & i) = i
Set cll = Range("A" & i).Offset(0, 1)
For Each shp In ActiveSheet.Shapes
If Left(shp.Name, 8) = "CheckBox" And shp.TopLeftCell.Address = cll.Address Then
shp.Delete
Exit For.......................
I have tried to set it to recognize how many rows are filled with number, give that to variable Z and then apply the code but it simply does not work.
The following codes work well but when I have changed the following condtion ,
If cel = Tgt.Range("A2") Then
to
If cel "" Then
I got worng result, can anybody help me to correct it?
Option Explicit
Sub test()
Dim sh As Worksheet, Tgt As Worksheet, i As Long, j As Long
Dim d, a
Dim c As Range, Rng As Range, cel As Range
Set Tgt = Sheets("Report")
Set d = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")
j = 0

If I create a simple conditional statement in a cell:
=IF(A8="NX-QSNT",B8, "")
I get the expected B8 cell contents when "NX-QSNT" exists in A8, or blank when it doesn't.
If instead of qualifying this full string, I try to Search for the "-QS" string in that cell as the criteria:
=IF(SEARCH("-QS",A8),B8, "")
I get the expected B8 cell contents when "NX-QSNT" exists in A8, but I get "#VALUE!" if it does not find this "-QS" string.
I'm guessing it may be because SEARCH isn't actually returning a TRUE/FALSE response, but rather, a numeric one based on the position of "-QS". I tried using a numeric approach also, but this didn't help:
=IF(SEARCH("-QS",A8) > 0,B8, "")
I have a simple formula that adds two numbers and divide the result by another number
K1: SUM(E1,F1) / H1
K2: SUM(E2,F2) / H2
K3: SUM(E3,F3) / H3
K4: SUM(E4,F4) / H4
K5: SUM(E5,F5) / H5
etc, etc
and then I average the results
AVERAGE(K1:K5)
etc, etc
When H1, H2, H3, etc is 0, it generates a #DIV/0! (since you cannot divide by 0)
I want a formula that I everytime a H1, H2, H3, etc is 0, I want to set it to a specific number H1, H2, H3, etc to 15.00
For example:
IF (H1 = 0, 15.00, sum(E1,F1) / H1)
If the number provided (H1) is 0, set it to 15.00, otherwise add the two numbers (E1, F1), and divide this result by the number provided (H1)
But this is where the problem is:
In every single cell that I have NOT yet provided information, it treats the BLANK cells as if it was 0, and has set every single cell to 15.00.
Does anybody know the code or the formula to divide a number generated by a formula. Id like to divide this number by 2 different set numbers. Meaning if my number comes out ot 19, id like to divide this by 5.5 and if it's not a whole number which this isn't (it's 3.45), i'd like to round this number to a whole number and add 2.5. My end answer would be 3 5.5 and 1 2.5.
Windows XP
Excel 2003
I have few numbers in Column "A". Few are normal figures & few are decimal numbers, like this:
20
5
5.63
4.5
200
53.263
125.5
Now I want to filter only the decimal numbers, so that after filter the result will show like this:
5.63
4.5
53.263
125.5
But I don't want to use any other column for doing so. I can do it using MOD in other column but I want the result in the same column.
I have an inherited formula and I am not sure if it is giving me the correct answer. It is:
=0.03*668*0.75*0.10
The result is 1.503
What I am aiming for is to get 3% and 25% of 688, deduct the results from 688 and then get 10% of that answer.
Is the inherited formula correct?
The list columns 5,7 and 9 has number entries.The userform has 3textboxes.is it possible to link total amount of this numbers result into the textboxes.Like column 5"CZ" entries total will showup in textbox10,column 9"DD" = textbox14
Private Sub TextBox2_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
Dim a, i As Long, ii As Long, b(), n As Long
ListBox6.Clear
With TextBox2
If .Text = "" Then Exit Sub
If WorksheetFunction.CountIf(Range("cv:cv"), .Text) = 0 Then
MsgBox "No Entry !"
TextBox2 = ("")

I am developing a spreadsheet with numerous information on our different suppliers offices in the country for each of our outlets. I am tryin to define a way to do the following:
If a colleague selects a company another list will appear with the region and when the region is selected a list of the offices will appear.
What is the relationship between ADO error numbers & named constants as documented in the ADO Error Reference and the numbers accesible via VBA's Err object?
I've tried in particular raising an error by manually cancelling the logon to my external database, but instead of adErrOperationCancelled with Number = 3712, I'm seeing Err.Number = -2147217842.
Can't seem to figure this one out. When I try the "=SUM(1:1)" on A1 to add up all the numbers in row 1 I am getting an error.
Is there a way to have A1 hold the sum of all the numbers on row 1 excluding A1 cell?
Will be adding new columns frequently and I don't know when a column ends to assign the =SUM to, so assigning row take away that problem but created another. Want it on A1 because B1 have the name of that row. So the numbers actually begins on C1 - infinity.
When I drag my VLOOKUP formula down a column in Excel 2010, the return value copies the formula result from the original VLOOKUP formula result. For example, if the first VLOOKUP returns a value of 0.5, I expect to see 0.5 or 1 in the cell below that one. However, I get 0.5 which is not the expected result for the cell below.
When, I click the fx on the cells below, the expected return values appear in the formula result. After I click OK, the expected formula results updates and now appears in the cell.
I'm not sure what is causing this issue. My computer was updated recently from an old machine to a new one. I have never experienced this issue before.
how can i continue adding the numbers even if in one cell got an error value. Sample:
a1=5
a2=5
a3=#div/0! (this could be #name!, #value!, etc.)
=sum(a1:a3) returns #div/0! but i want it to return as 10. any clarification n how to do this?
I have excel result sheet which contains students information. i.e. name, subjects and their corresponding marks, grade, percentage etc. So from that sheet I want to print result cards for each students separately from the data (result sheet).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 4 categories A, B, C & D. These are in desending importance, means A is most important and D is least important. Now there could be many A, B, C & Ds listed in a column. The challange is if coulmn contains A anywhere then the result should be A. If A is absent, then search for B, if present anywhere then display the result as B. It doesn't matter how many times A or any character is listed in column. I am attaching a sheet for better explanation.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created a simple auto numbering function whereby Cell A7 contained =Row()-6, and Cell A8 contained =(A7+1). I then shift, and pasted the contents of cell A8 until cell A600. My aim is to simply copy the increments of 1 - 600 into another column. However when i copy and paste i'm also copying the initial underlying formula ie: =( A?+1), Is there a way to copy the results, not the formula?

Currently I have a few hidden fields for the DSUM Criteria. I start making the tables. And then filling in table based off of the month and year. Doing so I need 3 criteria:
>= First Day of the Month
<= Last Day of the Month
= ID #
The problem is it takes Excel too long to fill in the 3 criteria fields, calculate the result, copy the result, and place it into the correct place on the table. Is there another way to get this data into the correct tables faster? Instead of using DSUM?
I would like to create a combo box however the contents of the combo box depends on what i have selected in a previous combo box.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI designed some userforms on a worksheet for users to click and input information. However, i am wondering if it is possible to have an additional feature to the userform.
Currently the userform only have labels such as Title, Dept, Branch, Unit and the respective textboxes for user to input information. As it might be unclear to some users i would like to have an additional feature such that when user roll their mouse over the label "Branch", the user will see a box where more information is given or rather an example such as "Dept XYZ", allowing user to have a clearer idea of what to fill in. Is there any way for me to add this feature?
I have a form where there are a lot of check boxes and there is a print version button. It is so when you complete the form you click print preview and it removes all the unused lines and formats the form to be ready for print. Everything was working fine until I had to add another line of check boxes and now first row skips a cell after formatting.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have made a calendar in excel, and need to make the following work.
I have six boxes (each for one day of the week, excl. Sunday) and a separate box containing names. I need to come up with a way that excel will automatically add those names to any five of the six boxes at random (always leaving exactly one box free for each name), and always choose which box at random.
how many boxes i will need?
in column D, i have the QTY of a product
In Column F, i have the QTY/Box
i need a formula that will tell me how many boxes i need..
i Tried =SUM(D9:D1500)/AVERAGE(F9:F1500)
however, it just doesnt look right.
I don't know if input boxes are what I want but you'll be able to tell me
When Excel is opened, I want a box to pop up where the following can be pasted:
"Trades
Merchandise: 100,000.000
Merchandise: 1,000,000.0000
Merchandise: 1,000.0000
Merchandise: 10,000.0000
Total: 1,111,000.0000"
The text and numbers will be copied from a webpage. When Excel is then opened, rather than having to type in those values (I'm only interested in the numbers), could an input box (or something else) handle and filter those lines to basically just the numbers?
I have created a dialog box for entering data into once that data has been entered i want the dialog box to store the data into a separate worksheet at A2 in then want the dialog box to clear and reappear ready for new data to be entered. This new data would then need to be entered at A3 etc etc etc. Is this possible and how would i go about doing this.
