View 1 RepliesI've created a chart in sheet 1 in a workbook. I want to copy and paste that chart into another sheet (lets take sheet 2) of the same workbook. I am using Excel 2010 version.
Whenever, I try to copy a graph and want to do "Paste Special as Link picture". The problem I am facing as "Paste Link" option is inactive.
I am attaching the Excel for your reference.
In a sheet (4) I have a pivot refreshed by a VBA macro code. Since I have defined a Chart on this pivot, I need to copy this pivot in a new sheet to avoid to reduce rows using a filter of the Chart. I copy this pivot using this VBA code
Sheet4.Select
Sheet4.Copy After:=Sheet2
I have e new sheet with a number Sheet(n) not equal to maximum sheet number +1
For a new run of the VBA macro I need to delete this sheet
Sheets(n).Select where (n) is not = maximum sheet number +1
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.Delete
Then I need to avoid the message box where I need to confirm to delete the sheet because the sheet is not empty.
Is there a solution to copy a pivot in a new sheet replacing the previous pivot and vithout changing the number of the sheet?
The two sheets are...
1. Sheet1.xlsx (regular excel sheet as the extension is .xlsx)
2. Consolidated.xlsm (macro enabled sheet as its extension is .xlsm)
1. Copy both the files on your system under a particular folder.
2. Now make 9 replica's of Sheet1.xlsx and name them as Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4, .......... Sheet10
3. Open the sheet Consolidated.xlsm and see the button i have added called "Pull Data".
Now write down the code by adding a Module in that excel sheet from the code window.
4. Write a code that will open each of these sheets (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4, .......... so on) one at a time and will copy the data from these sheets to the Consolidated.xlsm sheet.
5. Make sure that the data is appended(and not overwritten) from the multiple sheets (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3). that is once you paste the data from sheet1 to Consolidated.xlsm then the Sheet2 data will be pasted at the end and after that sheet3 data will be pasted and so on..
6. In this way at the end we will have all the data from Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3...in the consolidated sheet.
7. The Division column in the Consolidated sheet will have the value of first row in these multiple sheets. So after making the replicas of Sheet1, please change the value in first row (Range A1) to any other value to avoid the confusion.
8. I have highlighted the data for two sheets in yellow and grey color in the consolidated sheet.
I want to add password to work book. note; it is not for worksheet.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to do a macro and I want to add in a worksheet. I use the code
"Sheets ("Template") .Add"
but I keep getting an debug error. I did this in another macro but cannot find it. I need to add a specific name at the start of adding in a sheet as the sheet number increments change based on how many times you have run the macro. I know this is a silly format issue but I could not find anything in my book or searching this forum.
I have created a excel program with two workbook. Workbook1 holds all the userform to add data Workbook2 is the database Basically I store all data to WorkBook2 through userforms in WorkBook1. So far to add data to database(WorkBook2) I open the workBook2 along with WorkBook1 and close it when I close the WorkBook1. and working perfectly.
Is there any way to put data into WorkBook2 without opening it. Application.Screenupdating is not not my choice.
I have a code that opens another WB, and gather data from it. most of the lines look like this:
HTML Code:Â
wb.Sheets("Data").Range("K" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Offset(1) = wb2.Sheets(1).Range("M49").Value
However i need it to gather the sum: M49+M50, how can i do this without importing both values and then adding them in a 3rd column, like i am currently doing.
I would like to be able to use VBA to add a total amount from different worksheets. What I have attached is a copy of my workbook. It is a blank PO and at the bottom is the word total. Is there any way that I could use VBA or an add in to be able to sum the numbers that are adjacent to the word total on separate worksheets?copy.xlsm
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I would like to do is have a master workbook that I can import different .csv files into as a new worksheet. Then calculations will be run on the values that are imported. My goal is to select a column and have corresponding list update the values. After that formulas will run on the calculations. I have got the import csv file down using VBA. The problem I was running into was with the Data Validation. Since I was overwriting my existing sheet I would get a #REF error because the link was broken. So I have worked my way around this for the list using the OFFSETSHEET Function:
VB:
Function SHEETOFFSET(offset, Ref)
[COLOR=#0000ff] ' Returns cell contents at Ref, in sheet offset[/COLOR]
Application.Volatile
With Application.Caller.Parent
SHEETOFFSET = .Parent.Sheets(.Index + offset) _
.Range(Ref.Address).Value
End With
End Function
This returns a value to a row in my mater sheet and I reference this for the data validation list.
However, I get the same problem when working with the HLookup function, the #REF error occurs. So far the only way I have figured out to work around this is to create another sheet that dynamically updates its values using the same OFFSETSHEET function, and my master sheet then references it.
The code below resides in my personal.XLS Module. When I step through the code everything works till it reaches the point in red then I get the pop up that says excel needs to close and asks to send or not to send.
I noticed that if I choose recover my work and restart excel and I look at the code in THISWORKBOOK of the recovered workbook that the code I wanted placed there is there.
Can anyone explain why this is happening? I have the macro's security set to low and a check mark in the trust access to vb projects.
Any Idea's how to fix this?
Adding some additional code to prevent someone from saving the workbook under a different name. Currently if someone tried to enter data after the allotted time period, it would allow them to in any "unlocked" cells. When exiting or trying to save the file with this new data, they will get a message stating something to the effect that this is a read only file would you like to save as another name, which would allow the user to circumvent what I'm trying to accomplish. The end result would be they'd need a new spreadsheet.

I'm trying to copy a huge list of formulas and formats from one work book to another almost identical, each time it adds the old workbook name title into the formulas, this is easy to do in the formula bar for individual formulas but can this be done for many?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to have a macro designed. I have 2 workbooks, one having latest information and the other having the information in database already. both workbooks have 26 columns each. I would like to check if a value that exists in Column A of the "latest-information" workbook also exists in the "already-in-database" workbook. If so, I would like to update all 26 columns of that row in the "already-in-database" workbook with information from the "latest-information" workbook. If the value does not exist, I would like to add all 26 fields in that row into a new sheet on the "already-in-database" workbook.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to edit a code which previously saved a copy in a new workbook to a specific folder/path. (Additionally it copies and clears some figures, but this is working as it should.)
However I would like the copy to be saved at the same location as the original workbook, regardless of the path the original workbook is saved.
I.e if I need to move the workbook containing the code to a new folder/location, when using the macro, the new copy should be stored in the same folder/location as the original one.
For now it is only saving the copy into "My Documents"
Code:
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 16-02-2009 by ceng
'
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Select
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Copy
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:= _
ActiveWorkbook.Path & Range("D3"), _
FileFormat:=xlOpenXMLWorkbookMacroEnabled, CreateBackup:=False

I have data in 2 different workbooks, and I need to transfer all data in 'Jx_ex1' to sheet1 in the 'template' workbook, and all data in 'Gr_ex1' to sheet2 in 'template' workbook. All data should be transferred to the same cell numbers, from A1 to Y5000. I actually have loads of workbooks to transfer to the template but if I have an example with the two then im sure I can work out how to modify it. All files will be in the same folder.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find a way to save a single sheet of an excel workbook and in the same process delete all vba code and shapes from the new single sheet workbook. Is there any way of inserting the Sheet name into a cell? When you are in print preview for Header / Footer it is a comand - &[Tab. I have 3 Tabs called UK, France, Germany and would like to add a few more with a refference in A1 that picks the name up. I have tried =concatenate("Profit Journal - ",&[Tab]) and many other ways. I am sure I have seen this done before.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to display value from cell A11 to J11, and when the button is clicked, I need to transfer the value to underneath the last value on sheet “Results” leaving 1 space. So in my example it would go into row 28. On other occasions there may only be 1 value for example on results, if this was the case the row from Additional parts would have to display in row 7.
Then if I were to add another value in additional parts I would then want this to display in row 30 in my example. So again leave a space and add the line.
I am trying to add code to a sheet with one code already on it.
Each of these 2 sets of codes work just fine alone, but I do not know how to make them both work on the same sheet.
A working sheet with the code I want to add is attached. The code I would like to add is on the same sheet (pasted on the the page). (See attachment)
I am currently working with a very detailed cost sheet that I have created in excel. To keep this description short... I ran out of columns after 6 months and had to create a new tab for the next 6 months. Basically, I have copied and pasted the first six months to the new tab and QC'd all the formulas and all that.. What I am foreseeing happen, as I've seen this in the past, is this cost sheet is a dynamic thing that will require the addition of rows for more line items.
My question is this, is there a way to "link" the two tabs so that if I added a row to the one sheet, it will automatically add a row to the 'linked' sheet in the exact same position with the same formatting?
Is there a way I can add formulas dynamically to a sheet using VBA? I need to do cost calculations in the excel sheet for each company defined as an input from the user, so the number of formulas needed will change? Is there a way to write in the formulas to the sheet?

I'm trying to manage my Stock by using protected sheet, but i stuck with this "row adding with formula" stuff.
The user can only write in the colored cell, but everytime the user add new row, the formula doesn't copying by itself
I attach the file below with no password, if it's protected, the password is none, just press enter ( password : "" )
