Excel 2010 :: Paste Link Chart From One Sheet Of Workbook To Another Sheet Of The Same Workbook
Jul 20, 2014
I've created a chart in sheet 1 in a workbook. I want to copy and paste that chart into another sheet (lets take sheet 2) of the same workbook. I am using Excel 2010 version.
Whenever, I try to copy a graph and want to do "Paste Special as Link picture". The problem I am facing as "Paste Link" option is inactive.
I am attaching the Excel for your reference.

Excel 2010
My macro cleans up data in worksheet "Chalkboard".
After cleanup, I'd like to copy data and select the last sheet in the workbook (the one on the far right) and paste the data.
The last worksheet changes monthly: Jan Feb Mar Apr, etc.... Meaning each month, I'll add a new worksheet for the given month.
I need code that will select the last worksheet in the workbook.

I am trying to add the sheet name to the center footer for each worksheet in a workbook. The workbook has about 80 sheets and it is cumbersome to do this manually. I am using Excel 2010.
I have tried to record a macro capturing what I do manually, but when I run the macro on another sheet, it does not add the sheet name to the center footer.
I have tried searching for a macro online and the ones I have found just crash excel.
I know I am probably missing something obvious in my macro code.

I was asked to create a userform for the use of our whole team which would enable them to select a name from a dropdown list and then it would display their business contact details in the rest of the form.
I'm running Office 2010 and Windows XP server/enterprise edition (not quite sure which). After some research I've managed to use VBA code to open the userform while hiding the workbook, then when the close button is clicked it closes the user form and it's associated workbook using the code below.
Code:
' ThisWorkbook module
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Application.Visible = False
UserForm1.Show
End Sub
'UserForm module
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Unload UserForm1
ThisWorkbook.Close (False)
End Sub
This works great when the excel file is accessed directly. However when the excel file is accessed via the link on my teams Sharepoint site it doesn't. When the Userform is closed the underlying workbook and data is then displayed which then has to be closed separately.

Project is shared, cannot use vba.
I have in A2 - A12, The names of different sheets in the workbook. I would like to create a link so when a user clicks on the cell, it will take them to the specified sheet.
Lets say cell A2 contains the text '1208', when pressed I would like it to open up the sheet 'A1208'

So I have a set of data in my sheet 2 that I want to be connected to sheet 1. The data in sheet 2 looks like this,
NO
Reaction
H
S
1
2Fe2O3 + 3C = 4Fe + 3CO2
105690
120.21
2
Cr2O3 + C = 2Cr + 1/2CO2
218,085
59.24
while in sheet 1,Reaction No
Carbothermic Rxn
H
S
What I want to do is that when I put a reaction no (e.g 1) at the empty cell next to the label Reaction No, the data in sheet2 (i.e. Reaction, H and S) would automatically be reflected in the empty cells next to Carbothermic Rxn, H and S.

I received a workbook, and one of the sheets has a chart based on data from another sheet within the same workbook. Interesting enough that I cannot select any cell within that chart worksheet, all the rows and columns headings are gone, i can only select the chart. Secondly, it doesn't look like anything is locked. I can still protect the worksheet for some reason, so it's not protected.

The two sheets are...
1. Sheet1.xlsx (regular excel sheet as the extension is .xlsx)
2. Consolidated.xlsm (macro enabled sheet as its extension is .xlsm)
1. Copy both the files on your system under a particular folder.
2. Now make 9 replica's of Sheet1.xlsx and name them as Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4, .......... Sheet10
3. Open the sheet Consolidated.xlsm and see the button i have added called "Pull Data".
Now write down the code by adding a Module in that excel sheet from the code window.
4. Write a code that will open each of these sheets (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4, .......... so on) one at a time and will copy the data from these sheets to the Consolidated.xlsm sheet.
5. Make sure that the data is appended(and not overwritten) from the multiple sheets (Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3). that is once you paste the data from sheet1 to Consolidated.xlsm then the Sheet2 data will be pasted at the end and after that sheet3 data will be pasted and so on..
6. In this way at the end we will have all the data from Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3...in the consolidated sheet.
7. The Division column in the Consolidated sheet will have the value of first row in these multiple sheets. So after making the replicas of Sheet1, please change the value in first row (Range A1) to any other value to avoid the confusion.
8. I have highlighted the data for two sheets in yellow and grey color in the consolidated sheet.

I use an excel time sheet for my employees and I am wanting to use a command button to copy data in a cell from worksheet1 to worksheet2. The cell that will be copied from worksheet1 will always be "S14". I want to copy that data to another worksheet and have it paste the data in the correct cell. The code needs to find the employees name in worksheet2 and paste the data in the next blank cell. Currently the command button I have works perfectly but I have to use the specific range, I would rather have the code seek out the employees name on worksheet2 so that I don't have to worry about specific row/column ranges. Is it possible? I'm sure it is. I have attached what worksheet2 looks like.
Rather than having to use .Range("A4:AA4") I would prefer to have the code find the employees name.
Attached file: Book1.xlsx

Expanding this code to make it do the following:
1. Start w/ "RULE-Table" sheet,
2. Take note of "TODAY" date,
3. LOOKUP date in "RULE-table"
4. Locate Coordinates found in Col D of RULE-Table,
5. LOOKUP the data that resides in those Coordinates on the "PRODUCTION" sheet & COPY
6. PASTE data into "REPORT" tab C2 and E2.
Here's an example to visualize:
Code will do everything it needs to do within an Undisclosed OPEN file with several sheets. The reason the Workbook file name is undisclosed/undefined is because the file name will vary based on clients, so I don't want the code to be limited to look for a specific filename.
*The sheet names within this OPEN client file will always have the same names.
The sheet called: "RULE-Table" holds coordinates based upon "TODAY's" computer date.
For example: If today is JAN 4, the desired coordinates to pull data from are "B5" and "D10" from the "PRODUCTION" sheet.
"RULE-Table" sheet
A......B.........C................D.......
Row1.DAY....WK RANGE....QTR RANGE
2......1/1.......1...............B2,D7
3......1/2.......1...............B3,D8
4......1/3.......1...............B4,D9
5......1/4.......1...............B5,D10
6......1/5.......1...............B6,D11
Since today is 1/4, its rules say go to B2 and D10 of the PRODUCTION tab and collect the data
"PRODUCTION" (data source) sheet (within the same open file)
A.......B......C....D....E....F...
Row1..Header..Hdr..Hdr..Hdr..Hdr.
2.......2.................................
3.......14...............................
4.......13...............................
5.......20...............................
6.......62..............................
7....................76.................
8...................184................
9...................375................
10.................410................
11.................525...............
Last, the collected data from those 2 coordinates should always get pasted onto the "REPORT" tab into C2 and E2 in this example.
"REPORT" (destination) sheet (within the same open file)
A........B.........C.....D....E.....
Row1..Header..Hdr..Hdr..Hdr..
2...................20........410......

I have a macro code which gets the file list from a folder i specify and puts it in to an excel sheet as a column. I have then made a drop down list from this so the user can select the file they want.
From this file i wish to copy the data on a sheet that i specify. For example the sheet "dump" from file FR7_19.11.2009.xls (which will be a closed workbook) and paste its content in to the sheet "dump" in Summary.xls
I have a macro which opens up the closed workbook FR7_19.11.2009.xls and copies the sheet "dump" and then creates a new sheet of the same name and content in my current workbook (Summary.xls). However when i wish to select a different file to load in to Summary.xls "dump" the formulas i have been calculating information from this sheet all come up with #!Ref errors. I know this is because the macro i use deletes the old dump sheet before re adding a new one containing new data.
I am therefore looking for a macro which will simply just copy and paste the data from any file i select in to a sheet named "dump" as the data is always set out the same in every file but the values are different. I assume this will then mean that any formulas i use relating to this "dump" sheet in Summary.xls will work because the sheet is no longer being deleted and re-added the data within it has just simply been copied over.

Scenario is - n number of files are kept at a location say D:excelfiles
Each excel file contains, say, 10 sheets among them one sheet is called "custom".
Example -
file 1 - sheet1, sheet2, sheet3, custom, sheet5, sheet6
file 2 - sheet7, sheetB, custom, sheet9, sheet10, sheet11, sheet12
file 3 - sheet13, sheet14, sheet15, sheet16, custom, sheet17, sheet18, sheet19
and so on.
Requirement - all cell values of each "custom" sheet should get copied into a master excel sheet in file "import-sheets.xlsm".
To achieve this I started with copying each custom sheet from all excel files to the "import-sheets.xlsm" but I'm getting error.
Any way to directly copy paste the cell values of each "custom" sheet into a single master sheet of excel file "import-sheets.xlsm".
Attachment - dummy files to test macro. Macro name is copypaste.

I have the below macro steps to save an excel sheet in PDF format in "C:UsersxxxxxDesktop" and with the name of the workbook.
But when the PDF report gets published in c: drive , the PDF file name has .xlsm added to it instead of just the file name.
I would like to know how to publish the file in PDF format just in the name of the workbook.
Find the below macro steps:
Sub Docsave()
Dim docname As String
docname = ThisWorkbook.Name
ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat Type:=xlTypePDF, Filename:="C:UsersxxxxxDesktop" & docname, Quality:=xlQualityStandard, _
IncludeDocProperties:=False, IgnorePrintAreas:=False, OpenAfterPublish:= _
True

I have been trying to edit a code which previously saved a copy in a new workbook to a specific folder/path. (Additionally it copies and clears some figures, but this is working as it should.)
However I would like the copy to be saved at the same location as the original workbook, regardless of the path the original workbook is saved.
I.e if I need to move the workbook containing the code to a new folder/location, when using the macro, the new copy should be stored in the same folder/location as the original one.
For now it is only saving the copy into "My Documents"
Code:
Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 16-02-2009 by ceng
'
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Select
Sheets("Bunker ROB").Copy
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:= _
ActiveWorkbook.Path & Range("D3"), _
FileFormat:=xlOpenXMLWorkbookMacroEnabled, CreateBackup:=False

All data should be transferred to the same cell numbers, from A1 to Y5000. I actually have loads of workbooks to transfer to the template but if I have an example with the two then im sure I can work out how to modify it. All files will be in the same folder.

InitFileName = ThisWorkbook.Path & Format(Date, "mm.dd.yy")

I have a file that has an original file format .xls
I saved as .xlsx (I am using Excel 2007) with a different name so I could make changes to the new file without changing the original.
That turn off compatibility mode.... but it is still "shared". While it is shared I cannot delete a sheet. In fact, I really don't even want it to be shared. If the file is open, and someone else opens it, I want it to open as "read only". I cannot uncheck the "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time. This also allows workbook merging." checkbox because it is greyed out.

I was given a spread sheet that prepares a file for export to some ones system. The macro in the spread sheet wouldn't run as I'm using excel 2013 which when you open a new work book it only opens sheet 1 and there was a bit in the macro that wanted to send information to sheet 2 which wasn't there. I added a bit of code which created sheet 2 and hey presto it worked fine. I made the mistake of telling the people who supplied the original workbook to me what I had done so that they could pass the modified sheet on to other users in case they had the same problem.
Now I've been asked if I could do a bit more work to the existing macro so that instead of the new workbook just being called Book 1 could I add a name and date to the new workbook being created.
I've had a look at the original code and it looks like it would be quicker to start from scratch as I cant follow the original code.
The existing workbook has 3 sheets, I want to copy sheet2 to the new workbook. I want to name the new workbook as "a fixed name" with the "time and date " .xlsx

I am using Excel 2010 and I have a password protected workbook with password protected sheets that uses several macros. Most of them, in order to run, have to un-protect the sheet and then re-protect it again. This has been accomplished easily enough by adding ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:= "mypassword" and ActiveSheet.Protect Password:= "mypassword" to the appropriate places in the script. All of my macros, which do various things like sorting and moving data, deleting blank rows, displaying dialog boxes containing warning messages etc. run fine.
My problem is this: when I password protect the sheets manually, I have checked the following options in the "Protect Sheet" dialog box. Under "Allow users of this worksheet to" I have checked 1)Select unlocked cells and 2)Format cells. After entering my password and closing the dialog box my sheet is protected, but I can edit cells in the manner my allowances permit. However, once I run any of the macros that un-protect and re-protect the sheet, I remain able to select and edit unlocked cells (practically, for my purposes, this means that I can input data which will appear in the default font size and color of the sheet) but I cannot format cells (which, practically, for my purposes would allow me to occasionally change the font color and size of the data). Naturally, after running a macro, the other cell-formatting options are unavailable to me as well. Is there any way to get my manual selections to remain in place after running a macro that functions as mine do? Or is there any way to make my manual selections the default settings for a protected sheet?
