# Calculating Date After X Amount Of Days

Apr 11, 2014
I am trying to determine a formula that will tell me what the date will be 61 days and 90 days from a selected date. For example:

A1: 04/11/2014

A2: (Date 61 days from date in A1)

A3: (Date 90 days from date in A1)

Is this possible??

I'm having trouble with a complex Excel formula. I'm calculating child support owed based on the current date coupled with future child support owed. My columns are as follows:

Debt / Future Amount Owed / Monthly Payment / Total Amount Paid

10,148.72 / 83312 / 508 / 1000

On the first of each new month, the Future Amount Owed should decrease by 508. Altering the Total Amount Paid should decrease the Debt column. Progressing another month without altering the Total Amount Paid column should add 508 to the Debt column while subtracting 508 from the Future Amount Owed column.

I am trying to calculate dates that will happen 16 days from date specified in column A (A23:A200), based off a certain entry in Column B (B23:B200), which is named in cell P5. I can get the date by doing the specified date + 16, e.g. =IF($B$23:$B$200=$P$5,$A23+16,"")

The trouble I am running into is not having the date populate until it has reached 16 days from the dates in column A, show blank if possible until 16 days from date in column A. The dates in column A will always be previous to todays date.

I've managed to sort the first half of this issue, in that I can calculate the number of days within a given month which fall inside specified to and from date parameters..

The formula I've used is thus :

Code:

=IF(EOMONTH(A13,0)EOMONTH($I$9,0),0,IF(EOMONTH(A13,0)>$I$9,$I$9-(EOMONTH($I$9,-1)),EOMONTH(A13,0)-(EOMONTH(A13,-1))))))

This examines a date value (A13 in this case) and assess whether any days within that month are between the two date parameters specified in H9 and I9.

H9 = 01/01/2011

I9 = 15/05/2011

Jan-11

31

[Code]....

What I need to do now is specify a second set of date parameters in H10 and I10 and add those into the assessment. The dates will NOT overlap.

So, for example, if I were to set H10 as 01/07/2011 and I10 as 15/07/2011, the results would appear as below

Jan-11

31

Feb-11

28

[Code].....

I am having difficulty calculating the number of total overlapping days between several date ranges (6 of them to be precise)

I am using Excel 2003 and my data looks like this:

Sent Out (A) - Received (B)

01/06/2010 13:00 - 30/06/2010 13:00

02/06/2010 13:00 - 16/06/2010 13:00

09/06/2010 13:00 - 10/06/2010 13:00

21/06/2010 13:00 - 25/06/2010 9:44

23/06/2010 13:00 - 25/06/2010 10:56

23/06/2010 13:00 - 29/06/2010 13:00

I really can't wrap my head around the idea of calculating overlap (in network days) between six date ranges and was wondering if any of you would have a solution to this problem.

I am having difficulty calculating the number of total overlapping days between several date ranges for each item in another sheet which has unique items

I am using Excel 2003 and my data looks like this:

Sheet-1 Sheet-2

Item - Sent Out (A) - Received (B) Unique Item Number of days excluding overlap days

1234 01/06/2010 - 30/06/2010 1234 -

4321 02/06/2010 - 16/06/2010 4321 -

1234 09/06/2010 - 10/06/2010

4321 21/06/2010 - 25/06/2010

1234 23/06/2010 - 25/06/2010

4321 23/06/2010 - 29/06/2010

I have used the below formula found from the earlier post but need to add a condition calculating the days for each item.

=SUM(IF(MMULT((NETWORKDAYS(ROW(INDIRECT(MIN(INT(A2:A7))&":"&MAX(INT(B2:B7)))),2)<6)

*(ROW(INDIRECT(MIN( INT(A2:A7))&":"&MAX(INT(B2:B7))))>=TRANSPOSE(INT(A2:A7)))

*(ROW(INDIRECT(MIN(INT(A2:A7))&":"&MAX(INT(B2:B7))))<=TRANSPOSE(B2:B7))+0,ROW(A2:A7)^0),1))

I want to calculate the end date of my German courses. This is how it works:

A course consists of 60 LU*. The course can occur i. e. three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In each day the course lasts 2 LU, which means 6 LU each week. There is no course on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays. Therefore this type of course that begins on 18-Nov-2013 will end on 03-Feb-2014.

Another course which occurs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and respectively has 2 LU on Tuesday, 2 LU on Thursday and 3 LU on Saturday and starts on 03-Dec-2013 will end on 06-Feb-2014.

Therefore I want to create a worksheet where I set the start date, choose the days and respectively the LU amount on those days. The end date shall be calculated according to these criteria.

The workday function on excel cannot do this and I do not have any programming skills to work with VBA.

Legend:

*LU = lesson units; 1 LU is 45 minutes

Holidays:

28-Nov-13

29-Nov-13

08-Dec-13

09-Dec-13

25-Dec-13

31-Dec-13

01-Jan-14

I need a formula that will tell me how many minutes/hours are needed to hit a certain percentage.

For example, I need to do 60% of my time doing one thing (Team), and 40% of my time doing another (Individual). So, I need to know, if I've spent 5.5 hours doing Team, and 4 hours doing Individual, I need to know that I need to do .5 hours to hit the correct split.

I can't figure out what formula to use that will increase the current total to best figure out how many minutes I'll need to do either Team or Individual to hit the 60/40 split. It doesn't need to actually tell me 15 minutes, etc, but .25 would be fine (everything is done in .25 increments).

Phasing Design.xlsx

We have a requirement to spread/phase amounts over multiple columns (representing months) using a weighting (represents working days per month).

We will calculate the weighting result in excel first (represented by a % per month), so the macro will be more of an allocation of row amount against the equivalent column %.

So far i have the following code:

VB:

Sub phasing()

Dim SourceA As Range

Dim Weight_ResA As Range

Dim TargA As Range

Dim i As Long

Part of the assesment task is to write a formula, to work out how many days in advance the customer paid, and then apply the needed discount. I have tried several basica variations to the formula, and keep getting the same Err message.

give point me in the right direction to how i can calculate amount of days paid in advance and apply a % discount?

attached is the start of the assesment question.

You should create and enter formulas to calculate the No. of Days paid in Advance, the Discount and the Course Fee Paid.

Use a VLOOKUP function in your template to determine the discount rate to be used for the calculation of the Discount. Your template should include a separate discount table containing the following information about the discount received:

• If students pay the course fee less than 7 days prior to the course commencing then they receive no discount.

• If students pay the course fee 7 to 13 days prior to the course commencing then they receive a discount of 5%.

• If students pay the course fee 14 to 20 days prior to the course commencing then they receive a discount of 8%.

• If students pay the course fee 21 days or more prior to the course commencing then they receive a discount of 10%.

What I would like to do is insert a formula into column E that would calculate the number of days from when the count is at 50 to when the next count is i.e. for part 6689841 the time between when the count was 50 and when it was at 20, so the difference between 21/01/2008 and 08/08/2008 in the above example. It does not matter what the count number is (it could be any number except 50), I'm only concerned with every time the count is at 50 how long it is until the next count and to show the result in days.

I need to create a formula that calculates the number of days a person has worked within a quarter, if they have also left the organisation within the same quarter.

For example, I have someone who left on 26/08/08. I need to establish how many working days this person actually worked within the quarter (01/07/08 - 30/09/08). I need to do this for a large number of staff, so would appreciate it if anybody can let me know whether there is a formula that would calculate this.

I'm using Excel 2003, and successfully working out start date (T2 in the formula below) plus duration in days (U2) minus any non-working days listed in a seperate worksheet. =WORKDAY(T2,U2,Holidays!C6:C17)

Each 'task' is on a seperate row, and the lead officer is named in Column E. How can I get the work day function to include the non-working days for each officer as well as the global non-working days in the seperate worksheet? I thought about using a vlookup, but that only matches the first non-working day for each officer rather than all of the non-working days.
