I have an excel document with about 7 worksheets in it. The users of these worksheets can save the document but they never save it with the page view starting from the top. How can i ensure that whenever this document is open the default view for all the contained worksheets is at the top (ie:cell a1).
I have on one sheet - 600 rows of financial products by 100 regions worth of $ balances and on another identically formatted sheet the associated interest rates.
I just want to page down on the $balances tab and have interest rates tab move in sync - letting me eyeball the related info.
I've tried searching for an hour to come up with the right terms - split, freeze, etc.
I have a workbook with 3 spreadsheets. When I put ptotection on 2 of the sheets, the custom view will not work on the other. Any way to make the views work?
I have a spreadsheet which is used for STAT purposes at work, there are 14 users who use this spreadsheet.
The sheets are named after a user, i.e my sheet is under 'Steve'.
The problem I have is, I have a sheet thats unhidden on the spreadsheet (the rest are all hidden)
What i want is a form to open and request a username and password, or to gain the user name from there windows logon.
After the spreadsheet has recoginsed whom is entering the sheet, i want the spreadsheet to display there individual sheet, and keep everyone elses hidden.
I don't want them to have access to any sheet other than there own.
I then want an administrator logon, where that person can see all sheets.
I have a workbook which, on opening, shows a logon form and depending on the username and password entered only certain sheets open - there are about 10 usernames and passwords - i have only included 2 to keep the code a bit shorter. I got the code below from here and it works perfectly but I want to make it a bit easier to add new usernames and passwords and am thinking of using a Vlookup table. The code i currently use is:
Option Explicit Const sName1 As String = "Lisa" Const sName2 As String = "Philip" Const sPw1 As String = "update"
Dim sPW As String, sUser As String Dim sMsg As String, sTitle As String, sStyle As String Dim iCounta As Integer Private Sub cmbValidate_Click() sTitle = "Incorrect Password"...........
I have a workbook that is setup with headers and footers. To the right, left, and below the worksheet there are other pages greyed out pages that are not being used. Is there a way to change the view and potentially remove these "other sheets?"
I have an excel spreadsheet I have created as a printable form. It all fits nicely onto one page. I would like to be able to email it to people and have it look like a one-page form. It looks great in Page Layout view, but the only problem is that there are a bunch of extra sheets that show up as well. Is there any way to remove/hide these extra sheets that are not needed? Or is there another way to send this out so that it comes to folks as a one-page form so that they can alter the data in the cells but not the page formatting?
What i am trying to do: Create a login option to filter what worksheets each user can see. I need the users to be able to view 2 sheets not just 1. Also i need an admin login that can view all sheets. I want to keep the workbook protected so even though they can see and edit those two sheets they can only edit certain unlocked cells. Admin should be able to view/edit all cells on all sheets.
Below is my code which is made for a sample workbook. I was just trying to get the concept down and then i would convert it to the real workbook.
By chance I have opened a sheet with some macro and after that 'right click' is not working in any of the excel sheets (even newly created ones) in sheet names tab.
i.e., I can't delete/rename/insert etc in any sheet by rightclicking the sheet name.
Even the Edit->'delete sheet' is disabled. However, Insert->worksheet is enabled.
How to make the right click enabled. (excel version 2003)
Where I work there is a file that we have to submit to management every Friday. This is a raw data file to be imported into another system. With 7 different employees accessing the same passworded file on a network drive, we have had some errors in the external program due to input typos.
I have created a worksheet for employees to input weekly data, ie workorder number, hours worked, etc. all in a neat and defined order. I have also added nested if formulas to validate data length and duplication within a group.
Now I need to transfer just the raw data from the employee entry sheet to a seperate sheet, reformated in the raw data format. This requires copying common data for all workorders worked. I can provide more data examples from work.
I would prefer that the data copy and reformat be done with formulas as the parent company frowns on excl macro's, especially unsigned.
I have 15 rows available to the employee each day to input. One of the problems I have ran across is the raw data format cannot have blank rows or rows with missing data.
I have a couple of issues and if its okay will post two threads to make it easier to follow due to my basic skills in Excel.
I have a workbook with 5 sheets. The first sheet is a stat sheet which picks up data from four other spreadsheets. I want to work out the average working days taken to complete a case but this data is across multiple sheets.
So for example Column E in each sheet tells you what type of case it is i.e. investigation. Then column T tells you number of workings day it took to complete the case. To work this out I have used the following formula:
I know its very basic but its the only way I know how to work out an average in Excel 2003. I need to add a second criteria where on every sheet it looks in column G for date the case was allocated. As I'm only looking to report in the current report year I want it to look for cases where the value in column G is =>01/04/14 but =<31/03/14.
So I am trying to pull data from multiple sheets. I've gone through the thread, but haven't found an answer yet (or didn't work hard enough). On Sheet1, yellow highlighted column, I am trying to look up the I.D. Code for 36 month residuals. As you can see, I have to use multiple conditions on different worksheets.
I have to use most of Sheet1 columns to find the answer. I just can't figure the formula out.
I have been given an excel model to review;the workbook has 53 sheets. I would like to know if there is a way to create a flowchart/matrix with the relation of all the sheets. I would like at least to get a list of all the sheets related to each sheet. All what I was able to do is to get all the sheet names in one sheet. (I am using Excel 2003).
I wrote a macro to select multiple sheets by name and hide them, but I keep getting the following error message:
"Object variable or with block variable not set".
Below is the macro:
Sub HideSheets1A() Dim ws As Worksheet Application.DisplayAlerts = False If ws.Name = "Variance Evaluation" Or "Investment" Or "Costs & Incentives" Or "Revenues Total" Then ws.Visible = False End Sub
Excel 2007 - need to adjust protected view settings but the protected view tab is missing from my Trust Centre settings - have the following tabs - trusted publisher / location, add-ins, activeX, macro, message bar, external content and privacy options. Document is a revenue authority download and without being able to adjust the protected view settings, can't input data.
I have an annual leave (vacation) work book with a summary page work sheet and separate work sheets for each month i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar.....to......Dec. In order to protect the formulas I have protected them by allowing only access to the input cells on each work sheet and the protect each work sheet.
When someone either joins or leaves the team I have to manually unprotect each sheet and protect again when I have completed the amendments to each of the 13 tabs.
macro code I would need to unprotect all the works sheets in one go (as I use the same password for all the sheets) and reset the passwords (protect) the sheets with more macro code.
I will be running the two macros from my own personal.xls file and ideally they would be fully automatic i.e. I would not need to input the passwords in to unlock or lock the work sheets as the password would be written in the code already
I need to calculate the average spend on a day of the week over the month, so all Monday's or all Tuesday's, etc. One sheet is one week so I need to average b16 on 6 sheets as an example.
I used =AVERAGE('WEEK1:WEEK6'!B18) to calculate average over the six Monday's. The issue is, as in other posts, how do I ignore the cells that have a zero or null value.
I've tried adjusting this which was in 1 post =AVERAGE(IF($C$2:$CA$2=C62,IF($C$25:$CA$25"",$C$25:$CA$25 with this =AVERAGE(IF(1+1=2,IF('WEEK1:WEEK6 '!B180,'WEEK1:WEEK6 '!B18))) which returns #REF!
this from another post =SUM('WEEK1:WEEK7 '!B18)/COUNTIF('WEEK1:WEEK7 '!B18,"0") which returns #VALUE!
and this =AVERAGE(IF('WEEK1:WEEK7 '!B180,'WEEK1:WEEK7 '!B18)) which returns #NAME?
The cells on each sheet are sum formulas for other cells on the sheet not just numbers on their own.
I have saved this on a 2010 workbook as I am at home but this will be used on a 2003 workbook.
I have several projects on one spreadsheet which multiple users will be working and I am trying to create a summary sheet of the work carried out.
Each user is expected to carry out a task on each row of the data held in each worksheet (research, call, update etc) and each task (Option 1-5) is assigned a value. Each user is expected to meet a certain level of points per day to calculate productivity.
I am looking for a sumproduct along the lines of the summary sheet attached but mine just takes one sheet into consideration and I need one for all sheets.
I've created a workbook with code to email it to a reviewer then back to the originator when reviewed (along with other editing functions etc.). The problem - The originator is working in Excel 2003, the reviewer in 2007. The macros work great until the reviewer sends it back. I have not been able to figure out which FileFormat:= ???? to use when I SaveAs prior to emailing as an attachment. My Excel 2003 doesn't recognize the .xlsm file and other formats are eliminated the vba/macro coding
if there's a way to either define what columns or rows are printable or to somehow leave columns (or rows) as visible within the print area but omitted from printing as if they were hidden.
In my CAD package I can simply elect to have certain collections of information "non-printable", is there any way I can do this with columns without having to rely on people managing to laboriously (sic) hide and unhide columns either side of printing a document.
I've design a small little excell program that brings up a form and hides the excel workbook upon opening. By using the form the user is able to input data to a worksheet in running in the background. I've added a button on the form where I want the user to be able to open the worksheet which is password protected and view or print the data. I've already got the code to hide the workbook, protect and unprotect the sheets, I just can seem to get the code to view the one worksheet.
I use a two monitor setup driven from a Radeon 9550 graphics card, but the problem I have occurs on a single monitor as well. When I open multiple workbooks or worksheets I can only view one at a time the other remains embedded behind the open window. Nothing I know of will let me view both at the same time.
If there are two open worksheets full size on the screen and I minimize one they both minimize. If I decide to close one workbook/sheet down all open workbooks/sheets close down as well. Can I view two workbooks at the same time? Can I close one down while keeping one open?
Ive seen on someone elses workbook the first 6 columns are fixed (always in view) then you can still scroll across but those first six columns always stay in view.
