Capture Timestamp Of Last Update Of Cell In A Row

How to modify this code so that I select only one column triggers the time stamp update? For e.g. if i make any changes in column A, the date stamp is updated in the corresponding cell in column B. Basically, I am trying to narrow down to only one cell in the row, but it should work for any row in the sheet.

Cell Value Timestamp

I have A column that has values 0 or 1 (product active or not).

I want to add into B column date when change occured (from 1 to 0) but simple NOW or DATE is not working becouse program works so that it erases/resets all values and calculetes tham again wich resets mine date also.

How can i remamber value 0 and if it stays the same after reset that date in corresponding cell in B column stays the same and not resets.

Maybe some form of check is there date in B before chacking status in A?

Trying to get a record of who authorized spending in one of my worksheets and when they did it

I had some VBA code in one of my worksheets which added a time stamp and a user ID to two different cells after the user enters their name. Why it is no longer working, though I suspect after moving the worksheet around.

I would like my users to type their name into cell G65 (which is actually merged from G65-K65). Once the user enters their name, cell L65 (which is actually merged L65-O65) populates with the current time stamp. Also, when the user enters their name into cell G65, I would like cell P65 (which is actually merged into P65-S65) to auto populate. I would like this all of this to go down through line 70.

VBA Timestamp On Formula Cell Change

I have the below code that works fine. However I want to use a countif function to update Column I instead of manually having to type in the numbers each time they change. I know it would probably be a Worksheet_Calculate Sub but cannot seem to find one that works. The time stamp would be put into column H and the first row of data is row 3.

I presume that an adjacent cell can have =now(), but need to know how it to run this when a particular cell has been changed.

I have a program that automatically exports info into excel as that info becomes available. What I need is to be able to insert into a cell the exact time that the information was inserted into excel. For example, cell A1 gets info inserted into it, I need cell B1 to automatically insert the time that the info was inserted into A1. Any time there is new info inserted into A1, B1 needs to update that corresponding time.

I want to get the Result as below:

Capture Just Last Name In A Cell Containing First Last And Sometimes Middle

I want to extract just the last name from a cell that contains the full name and put just the last into a seperate cell.

WHAT I AM DOING: i copy the contents of a internal screen onto a spreadsheet that i use to check various peices of info and calculations. when i save I like to save my sheet with the last name and then acct number. The internal system screen combines the customers names into a single cell. Right now i have to type the last name into a new cell and have a simple save macro that concatenates that last name with the acct number and saves it into the appropriate folder.

The field i am pulling from is always formatted with FIRST NAME then MI (IF PROVIDED) and then LAST NAME. So when i dump the screen contents into excel A20 may be MIKE SMITH, or MIKE T SMITH. so i need something that looks backwards in the cell and stops at the first space and dumps SMITH into another cell of my choosing (B1 in this case)

Let's say that in column A I have numbers,"Yes" and "No". I want in column B to have only the numbers from column A, in the same order without any empty ranges, and everytime I add in column A a new number, column B to update automatically with that number. Let's have an example:

I am trying to capture the value of a cell before a change even. The attached Macro will report the value before the change but does not store it so that I can use it in another module. What I am trying to do is capture the value before the change and then look that value up in another worksheet (in the same workbook) so I can make the same change in the second workbook.

I would like to know how to capture a cell value at a specific date each month in a situation where this cell can change value as it is a formula. For example, the cell returns a percentage that is derived from other data that can change regularly. It may be 45% today, but a user may alter other data in the spreadsheet and it could be 67% tomorrow (or any other percentage).

I want to graph a monthly trend of how this cell value changes by capturing the cells value on the 20th day of every month, or it would also be ok to work on a periodic snapshot of every 30 days.

i have used two form and a macro in a workbook. First one captures data via text box. This data is captured in a cell. Form two adds a new sheet with the name that is captured in a cell, then perforns some task in the newly created sheet. Macro does the formatting of the newly created sheet and saves the sheet. Again when i reopen the the workbook the value is captured in next blank cell and the procedure follows. This works fine as far as there is a single. But not in case of multiple user at the same time. Is there a way to directly capture the value to form 2 and macro so that multiple user can work on the same time.

I have date values in a range of cells, and have named the range "ChangeRange".

How would I:

1. loop through the range to store the current value of each cell in a scripting directory?
2. use vba to compare the values in that dictionary to the current value of the cell when it changes (NOTE: the change is by formula, not by manual insertion of a new value?
3. write that old cell value in the cell immediately to the right of the cell when it changes and update the dictionary value with the "new" old value?
4. do this for more than one range of dates on the same page?

I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!
D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?

User Name And TimeStamp

Is there a way to put a time stamp with the users name into an adjacent cell when a cell is updated?

In case that didn’t make sense I will tell you what I need this for. We are creating new time cards that require both employee and manager approval on them. We have many remote employees and getting their signature can be a pain. If they could click a button on the time card that stamped their name and time that would be ideal. They would then send to their manager they would click to verify the time and it would stamp it as well.

I would like to set up an Excel spreadsheet for conducting a time and motion study in a workplace setting where someone follows an employee around to document how much time is spent on a variety of activities. Since the person would have a mobile tablet PC to walk around with and track the data, I would like to capture 3 fields of information:

1) Category of function being performed
2) Start date/time of function
3) Stop date/time of function

For #1, I would like to have a drop down box that appears in each row of Column A with a predefined list (i.e. Activity A, Activity B, Activity C, etc.). For #2 and #3, I would like to create a macro that "timestamps" the current date/time when a blank cell is "clicked".

Whenever I type into field D2 it populates current date and time in field A2 and down the A column as I write into current D columns. The next step I would like to do in which he was able to figure out so far is how to lock in the date and time after something has been typed into D2. If I make any changes to the D2 field it updates the date and time, which I dont want to happen.

I am currently using the "Now" function to input date and time. problem is everytime the sheet changes the formula changes and alters the times. I am trying to create a log of each time this code runs. so I have a record of it. I have a problem similar to Ozone64's posting of 4/23 that I am trying to generate automatic time/datestamps in a cell whenever a value is entered in an adjacent cell. I am currently using the function =IF(A3"",NOW()) but the problem is when data is entered in subsequent rows the previous timestamp is overridden with the new timestamp. Thus at the conclusion of data entry every row ends up with the same date/timestamp as the final entry.

I am attempting to enter Timestamp data from a movie in this format:

minute:second.millisecond

When I enter a frame timestamp of 18 minutes, 42 seconds, and 5 milliseconds, excel auto formats this data to 12:18:43AM.

This is not what I want. I have attempted multiple types of cell formats in an attempt to enter this data without auto formatting. One requirement for the format is the ability to subtract two of the times for a change in time measurement. I have tried every setting under the "Time" format list, as well as custom formats, which fail to subtract.

I've seen a lot of timestamp solutions but none of them fit my needs. Also my VBE skills are not good enough to create this. So here's the problem:

I've got 3 columns E,F en H. H contains a validation list with 3 options OK, NOK and OPEN.

If H is NOK I would like E and F to be blank. If H is OPEN I would like E to contain a start date wich doesn't update. If H is OK I would like F to contain an end date wich doesn't update.
