Conditional Formatting: Cells To Color A1 Grey (Fill)
Dec 4, 2009
I have information in A1. I want A1 to look at B2:B5 and D2:D5 (Under conditional formatting) and if there is one or more "X" in those cells to color A1 Grey (Fill). I keep trying to put a formula under conditional formatting, but it is only working for the first cell (B2) and not the rest.
I have 10 rows of 6 numbers, all between 1 & 49, in the range A1:F10. I also have the range A20:AW20, which are all currently blank cells. When I type a number between 1 and 49 inclusive into the range A20:AW20, any number that matches it in the range A1:F1 I want the cell to fill in colour.
I need to find a way to do conditional formatting and disabling of a cell based on a value from another cell. For instance if A1=X,Y, or Z, then B1 will get grayed out and cell entry will be disabled. This is so that when skimming over the sheet, you can tell what cells in row B you need to put info in still, and if it's grayed you'll know you don't have to put anything there (and it won't let you).
The spreadsheet I've been working on is functionally working how I would like, but I am looking to improve it cosmetically. I have a range of cells in which I input scores. Those scores are averaged in blocks of the value of cell B1. I would like to fill the cells yellow if they are a multiple of the value of B1.
I have a column that when I put info in it gives me a colour, now on this I have quit a few different labels, eg. AAG201, PRA001, 000010 and so on, now on my rule I have put in that if it is PRA* ,AAG* to be one colour and 0000* to be a colour. (this is working without a problem).
I have tried to get the rest of the row to be the same colour, but cannot get te rules to work, I do not know which rule to use to get this working.
I have conditional formatting set to paint the cells a certain color if the values are >0 and a diff. color if they are <0. If i enter the value manually everything is fine but if a use a formula to do the calculation there is no formatting.
Is it possibe to change another cells color (Fill) based on what is placed in that cell? Example: A1 =if there is an "x" in A2 highlight A1 Green, but I have information in A1 also. Or if I had a different cell say= if there is an X in A1 Highlight A1 Green ect.. This key is to highlight a cell that I have information in based on a different cell having an X in it. If ther eis no X in the cell I have indicated, nothing needs to happen.
I need to be able to get a macro to do this. I recorded the macro. The conditional worked, but when I cleared it and then ran the macro, it highlighted all of the wrong stuff. Here is what I want to do: In column(AJ) I have cities with Prefixes or not In another column (AV) I have Criteria1 and in yet another, I have criteria2 (CB)
City (AJ) Criteria1 Criteria2 SCRNRTH_SCRM1 FALSETRUE should fail test A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSETRUE A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSETRUE A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSEFALSE should fail test SCRNRTH_SCRM1 TRUETRUE should fail test A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSETRUE SCRNRTH_SCRM1 FALSEFALSE A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSEFALSE should fail test A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSEFALSE should fail test A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1TRUETRUE should fail test A9_SCRNRTH_SCRM1FALSETRUE....................
I have two conditions setup in Options>View - Zero Values.", "style="background: #FFFFFF;padding: 2px;font-size: 10px;width: 550px;"");' onmouseout='GAL_hidepopup();'>formatting.htm" target="_blank">conditional formatting. The first is setup for alternate row coloring with this formula inside Conditional Formatting:
Formula is = MOD(ROW(),2)
My Second Condition is
Cell Value is between $P$10 and $Q$10. This sets the font bold and a different color. The two cell values are two dates. I want to change the cells font color and bolding as long as the value is within that date range. It works fine, but for cells that are on the row that is colored the second condition doesn't apply for some reason.
I'm trying to discover the best way to accomplish formatting a cell by filling it a certain color based on 2 of 3 criteria of other cells.
Column A has the title of the field. Cells B1:D1 have one of 3 values: Nothing/blank, Complete, or x. If all of the x's are gone within the range of B1:D1, I'd like to automatically format cell A1 to fill in Blue (or any color).
VBA code to disable(grey out) condition formatting command in ribbon. Because I generated a template and do not want user to change the condition formatting.
Below is a code that works for this attachment Invoice.xlsm When you hit the code you will see how the 2 left most columns disrupt the conditional formatting resulting in one color for those columns as opposed to every second row with one color and the rows between them another color. modify this code so that the conditional formatting remains the same? (I highlighted the part in the code that needs attention).
I have written in some conditional formatting to have a cells automatically updated based on a response in a cell above. That is: If a no response is chosen to a certain question, then all other questions in that range are to also be a No response. I have attached the document im working on with an outline of what the problem is!!!!
ive got the following code looking to delete the entire row that contains cell H with a red interior fill (colour index 3). it has been coloured using a conditional format rule. When I run the code it deletes all rows?
Sub DeleteIfRed () Dim LastRow As Long Dim i As Long
We have a spreadsheet that is sent to a manager weekly. The manager takes the sheets from 30+ individuals and copies all into a single workbook that is then distributed to a very large audience and reviewed weekly. In this workbook, I have created drop downs with conditional formatting - Low = Green, Medium = Yellow, Critical = Red. On the original workbook, this formatting works great, however, after the manager consolidates and redistributes all worksheets the Green shows Gray, Yellow is OK and Red shows Black.
When using conditional formatting, I have it set to the following:
C2=60 (Reference Cell) C3=5 (Reference Cell)
Conditional Format Settings If C3 >= C2/12 then pattern set to Green If C3 < C2/12 then pattern set to Red
Here is the problem - when you have a value in C3, everything is fine, it's either green or red. If C3 is blank, it defaults to green because the conditional format is true.
Is there anyway to add something in there to have no color when C3 is not populated?
I have four conditions that dictate font colors in column "d" of "sheet1" and am using the following Private Sub Font_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Set Myrange = Range("D2:D1000") For Each Cell In Myrange
If Cell.Value = "Started" Then Cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 3 End If If Cell.Value = "Pending" Then Cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 4 End If If Cell.Value = "On-going" Then Cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 18 End If If Cell.Value = "Completed" Then Cell.Interior.ColorIndex = 6 End If
Next End Sub
1. Does this code look valid? 2. Do I paste the code in a "module" or in a worksheet object? If I add this to a module, how does the code know to reference sheet1? 3. Is there a handy reference guide that shows color codes? If so, where can I get a copy.
I need a formula to change the color of the cell based upon the following criteria
In cell I3, if J3>7 change color to teal, if H3<$A$1 color cell red, if J3<7 color cell yellow, if J3="COMPLETE" color cell grey, otherwise do nothing.
I found in the web-site a great VBA code that replaces the "Conditional Formatting" option in Excel. The problem is that it changes the "fill color" and I also want to change the "font color".
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim icolor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("C4:C14")) Is Nothing Then Select Case Target Case 0 icolor = 2 Case 1 icolor = 4 Case 2 icolor = 39 Case 3 icolor = 45 Case 4 icolor = 37 Case 5 icolor = 15 Case Else 'Whatever End Select
