I have information in A1. I want A1 to look at B2:B5 and D2:D5 (Under conditional formatting) and if there is one or more "X" in those cells to color A1 Grey (Fill). I keep trying to put a formula under conditional formatting, but it is only working for the first cell (B2) and not the rest.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe spreadsheet I've been working on is functionally working how I would like, but I am looking to improve it cosmetically. I have a range of cells in which I input scores. Those scores are averaged in blocks of the value of cell B1. I would like to fill the cells yellow if they are a multiple of the value of B1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have written in some conditional formatting to have a cells automatically updated based on a response in a cell above. That is: If a no response is chosen to a certain question, then all other questions in that range are to also be a No response. I have attached the document im working on with an outline of what the problem is!!!!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 10 rows of 6 numbers, all between 1 & 49, in the range A1:F10. I also have the range A20:AW20, which are all currently blank cells. When I type a number between 1 and 49 inclusive into the range A20:AW20, any number that matches it in the range A1:F1 I want the cell to fill in colour.

way to highlight selected cells if one of the selected cells equals a certain value eg
A B C D E

I select cells A1-E3 and if column D = "Y" then colour fill the row from A to E
I have a set of data in column R, with an unknown number of rows that looks like this

and I have written a script to add an adjacent column "S". I want to fill column S with conditional values based on the value of column R, sorted into categories such as "On Time", "Less than One Month Late", etc. Here is what I have so far, it doesn't work:
I have a column that calculates & displays the number of minutes between two cells, i would like to conditonal format the column to either display a 2-color scale by number, min 0 and max 40 or i would like to apply a fill to all cells > 40. I can do this with normal numbers typed into the cells but i cannot get it to work with the result of the formula. I have tried formating the cells to number but still i cannot get it to work.

So in this example the values with an * would be highlighted.

Ceck this attached file and let me knw what i did mistake in Conditional Formatting
=E2="we have more than 90 days" i like to fill green colors in e2 cell
=E2="we have less than 90 days" i like to fill red color in e2 cell
but its only showing green and white..
Below is a code that works for this attachment Invoice.xlsm When you hit the code you will see how the 2 left most columns disrupt the conditional formatting resulting in one color for those columns as opposed to every second row with one color and the rows between them another color. modify this code so that the conditional formatting remains the same? (I highlighted the part in the code that needs attention).

I want to change (via conditional formatting) the background colour of cell H64 and K72 when I select / highlighted / activate (i.e. just left click in the cell) cell C66.
I don't seem to be able to find in the formulae something to indicate if C66 is selected / highlighted /activated.
My Goal: If the value of G8 (which is the result of a count formula) matches the value of G10, then apply formatting to G10 through H11.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I hit the macro code you see below I get both columns D and E, starting from row 18, to get 'filled down' to the specified spot. Every second row has a conditional format (when a value is entered in column A) to change the row to the color grey, and every row between it has a conditional format (when any value is entered in column A as well) to have the row changed to the color red. The issue here is that the Macro code messes up the conditional formatting and uses the conditional formatting of those two cells, which are being dragged down, for those entire filled-down columns! This is what I am starting off with test1.xlsm and this is what I end up with using the macro code below (or doing it manually)
test2.xlsm
Is there a way for the Macro code to bypass this issue?
I have a formula in A56 that adds cells A1:A54. I want to use conditional formatting to highlight A56 if any of the cells in A1:A54 are blank. I am unsure how to do this.

I m unable to apply conditional formatting with numbers ( font and fill of same color).
like:-

I have a spreadsheet where I want to be able to Fill cells green in Column B to Column N for any Rows that have a value in Column L. All other Rows should remain the current colour (orange).
I can Fill the cells in Column L using conditional formatting but am not sure if I can use Conditional Formatting on other Columns so that their Fill colour is determined by the value in Column L?
I have a spreadsheet with 'due date' for returns in column L and 'received date' for returns, in the adjacent column M.
I would like to get the due date to turn red when it is overdue, ie. the date in the cell has arrived and no return was submitted. By trawlling the forum, I managed to accomplish this with the following in conditional formatting:
Cell value is less than or equal to =TODAY()
All's great.....but - I would like the date to turn back to black if I enter a date in the adjacent received column, column M.
In other words, I want to flag a problem if the due date has passed, but once I receive the return and enter the date I receive it, i would like the due date entry to revert back to the original formatting ie. black. So only the outstanding returns are highlighted.
what i would like to do is change the fill colour of D68 if the word Air appears with in D5:D65?

Lets say in colum A I have a list of items, in colum B i have a check box, currently the check box is red, if i tpye a x it turns green due to conditional formating. That works fine...onto the problem...
Lets say in colum A i have my items but they are repeated...eg A1, A145, A166, A122 are all the same item, what i want is regardless of where i place the x each check box under coloum B either gets a X and turns green, or just turns green, i dont mind...
I dont think conditional formatting can cut this, though i may be wrong. Ive tried to use the IF function under condtional formatting but ran into problems...
how to apply conditional formatting via VBA to a range of cells based on input from another range of cells. Obviously this would be easy in Excel 2010, but I'm still using 2003 at the office and it needs to stay in this format to be readable by other users:
For cells M8:EK8, my conditional formatting
condition 2: Formula Is =AND($E$8>=M2,(($E$8-$D$8)>=(N2-$M$2))), color index is 40
condition 3: Formula Is =AND($F$8<=M2,$G$8>=M2), color index is 39
I want to add:
condition 4: Formula Is =AND($H$8<=M2,$I$8>=M2), color index is 40
condition 5: Formula Is =AND($J$8<=M2,$K$8>=M2), color index is 39
and so on
The cells in the range M8:EK8 are blank, they only get colored based on input added to D8 to K8. If there is no input, then the cells should be uncolored.

I have a simple spreadsheet and am trying to get some Conditional Formatting to work.
Cell1 = Name
Cell2 = 1
Cell3 = 2
Cell4 = 3
If cells 2, 3, and 4 all match I want the background in cell 1 to change to green.
I've tried (Formula Is =B1=C1=D1 green) with no luck.
I'm using Excel 2007. I would prefer to stay away from the scripting side of the house if possible. This is basically a 3 day forcast weather chart. The top is the actual weather data, the bottom portion is a color coded reflection of how the weather affects various things.
This product is created in excel, but will be embedded into a powerpoint. It will be updated daily. Here is what I would like. I want the color chart at the bottom to update automatically based on the data I enter above. I have a grasp that I can update the color through conditional formatting, although im not exactly sure what that will look like with all of those cells.
I also figured out that I can insert the letters in those lower cells with something similar to " =IF(C6>90, "T", "") " which would put in a 'T' for Temperature when the temperature got above a certain degree.
I run into a problem when I have multiple factors affecting a single cell. For instance on the example in day 2 of my image. Personnel are affected by Temperate AND UV Index. How would I set up that cell to pull that information from both of those cells and display it accordingly? I would prefer the letters to stay separated by the comma, but I could live without that. The default cell color will be green, with the potential to be yellow or red. I left a few examples of possible situations on day 2 and 3.
A little background on what i am doing. I have a spreadsheet that tracks when i have blown the dust out of our computers. I have set up conditional formatting so that the text turns red after 300 days and the cell turns yellow after 600 days. However, some computers are in high dust environments. I would like the spreadsheet to tell me to blow the dust out of these sooner. see the attached sheet.
